Admittedly some of the beginners classes don't feel like beginners because many people already know the moves lol Every class I've attend, the instructor had great energy, broke down the moves easily, was open to questions, and made you feel confident! If you're new to the Playground here are some tips: - come early to find parking. Yes there's limited meter parking, but there are streets that let you park from 8-8pm without a permit for 2 hours - bring water you will sweat! - you can walk in with a bag of your clothes and additional shoes since they have dressing rooms - come with a friend if you're shy and so they can record you if you want - make sure your phone is charged so you can ask someone to record what you learned - remind yourself that you're here to have fun! You can get in your head when so many around you are so good and comfortable. Also, instructors usually get dancers at the end to dance with them for videos and it can feel like youre not good when they don't choose you but remember: you're there for fun

I took the 6 week beginner shuffle program and it was a game changer if you want to learn how to shuffle. The beginner shuffle is every Monday 8pm-10pm. Highly suggest not missing any class because each class is packed with new moves. You learn all different kinds of moves and choreo. We had Brea and Mary Grace was our instructors and they are super awesome! They're super upbeat and always bring so much energy for a 2 hour class!! 2 hour class goes by super fast! I like that if you're struggling with how to move or any questions you have, they would break down the moves so it's comprehensible and answer any questions. Make sure you bring: good shoes, water and towel (if you sweat a lot) You can even record yourself, make sure the people behind you are ok with it. Restrooms in the building. Plenty of free street parking. Entrance: ring the bell for Gravity Dance because there are other companies sharing the building. The building is also super cool and the decor is so warehouse-like.

The entire class should've just been us practicing the steps and trying to get it faster, not trying to coordinate it with music. I had to leave halfway through class because it was so awkward and I wasn't getting any assistance or alternate instruction for different ways of trying things out.

They told me that I "unsubscribed" (which I didn't) and there was no way to re-add me back on the list.. doesn't even sound believable. I spent thousands of dollars and it was a waste. I don't even think this is a business anymore but if it is, steer clear :)

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

My younger son joined not knowing anyone and felt welcomed almost immediately. Both of my boys felt included from day one. The staff is incredibly caring, supportive, and attentive. You can truly feel that they work hard to create a safe, joyful environment for the kids, and as a parent that means everything. The activities are fantastic: well planned, age appropriate, engaging, and fun. The natural setting is also beautiful and feels especially important these days. My boys came home with confidence, stories, friendships, and summer memories they will cherish forever. And the camp spirit is real. We still sing the silly songs at home, especially the announcements song whenever we have a family announcement, and the birthday song too. I cannot recommend Cali Camp enough. I was not really sure about the change at the beginning but I am now fully embracing the new LAAC. Many of the staff and members have been here for a long time and it is nice to be greeted by familiar faces when coming to the club. The restaurants are pretty decent. Love to top my salad with a nice piece of salmon after workout at the Famous Players or have a tasty glass of scotch while enjoying the live jazz performance at the Invention. The sports bar Duke's has great happy hours and fun monthly evening karaoke or chess club meetings. The only thing I complain about is the need for shock absorbance and insulation of the noise or moving the weight station. The northwest corner of the Famous Players near Olive Street shakes every time the weightlifters drop their weights, which is very annoying and distracting for the diners. Feel like the ceiling or floor is going to drop out. No joke. For now, I would sit as far away from the northwest corner as I possibly can. But hope the club would look into it. I have been trying to sign up for the monthly wine tasting but they are always full. Maybe consider having the event more frequently or scale up? Regardless, I am still exploring all the new offerings at the club and really pleased with the Pilates classes and the live music performances. Although I am apprehensive when I first see the co-working space and the influx of new members, I now appreciate the additional events and classes that come with the new members and hope the club continues to do well and do better as I am here to stay.

As usual, water in the room costs money, and there are a few other products with hidden price tags in the room, too. Surprisingly, toothbrush and toothpaste was not provided. The water for showering also doesn't get too hot. In terms of the athletic space, the machines were very easy to access. There was never a wait even on weekend afternoons. The lap pool was my favorite part - clean and calm. There was some miscommunication between the lobby and the store, as one said there is no reservation system but there in fact was. But even when told all the lanes were fully reserved, more than half weren't in use. Parking is a bit of a hassle; for non-members it's definitely not worth it. At the time of visit, the parking machine wasn't working. There are also sperate elevators for parking vs the athletic club / hotel area which was a little confusing. The stair numbers also didn't coordinate the best with actual level.

This is the "Brandon Special" by Esther, not on the menu. I don't know what's in it but it's delish.

Two weeks ago, I brung my younger special needs sister to this place so she can learn new choreography. We got information from this place through a flyer that was placed on our door a month ago, so we thought that we'd give this place a try. We got her in hip hop class and paid the fee, and she was in the room with another group of girls, and she felt left out when it was time to pair up with others. When she began to dance, some of the students giggled under their breath due to her not getting some of the moves down. When I spoke to the instructor, they told me that it'd be best that she finds something that's on "her level", and they can't keep going back over the same moves if she's not grasping it. I felt that she was a heartless individual; their was absolutely NO compassion whatsoever! PS: If your child is autistic don't bother giving them business. read more

My daughter was a ballet student at Stellar Dance Studio for a year. We moved to Santa Monica so stopped attending because of the distance. I have yet to find a dance studio that is at least comparable to Stellar Dance. The level of training that is provided at the studio is amazing - learning ballet, stretching, performances, recitals, and Stella (the instructor). Most important of all was the desire and enthusiasm that my daughter exuded prior, during, and after each class was priceless to see. The standards of instruction at the studio are very high, but the classes are also fun for children. It is rare to find such balance. Stella has background of studying dance/ballet in Russia and this high quality of her instruction is evident right away. read more

We enrolled our son at Stellar Dance Studio for Pop Star Summer camp. It was an amazing experience for our 7 y.old, who enjoyed every minute of it. Stellar Dance studio has a wonderful approach to fostering each child's individual ability to creative expression through dance , slinging, and performance. On the last day of camp kids performed for families, it was impressive and a lot of fun for kids . We highly recommend Stellar Dance Studio's Summer Camps , where your child is never bored , surrounded by dedicated professionals and has an opportunity to express oneself. I started dancing with Stella when I was 3 years old. Stella has teached me so much!When I went to my first dance compition I was super nervous but as I went to more compition I feel confident.When I got my first pair of point shoes I was so excited the first day I was using it, it was fun but also hard but I improve each day I use them.It's so fun working with all of the dancers of our dance team there and especially with Stella. My daughter loves dancing ballet and hip hop but she is kind of shy. I took her to stellar dance studio at West Hollywood one time, and she loves this studio. I was surprised that she asked me to enroll her in their ballet and hip hop dancing program, after I've already try a couple of other studios. I started taking ballet classes at Stellar Dance Studio almost a year ago, and could not be happier! Stella is so thoughtful and encouraging. She always helps with my questions. The studio is so bright and wonderful, and it is always something to look forward to! In the private lessons you learn a lot of technique and it helped me improve. Our daughter has been going to Stellar Dance Studio for the last 3 years and she really is enjoying ballet. She gets to perform in Russian musicals/ plays and receives a whole different culture while enjoying ballet and hanging out with friends. For the amount of money spent, I think it was a decent use of time. I think this place has a lot of potential, however, it didn't really seem like a class, or even serious training time. Everyone else there seemed relatively new to aerial. Other: * Parking can be a bitch in this area. * The studio is a bit smaller than I thought it would be, probably because of all the studio mirror angles in the pictures. * Class times are mainly during 9-5 business hours.

I took the 6 week beginner shuffle program and it was a game changer if you want to learn how to shuffle. The beginner shuffle is every Monday 8pm-10pm. Highly suggest not missing any class because each class is packed with new moves. You learn all different kinds of moves and choreo. We had Brea and Mary Grace was our instructors and they are super awesome! They're super upbeat and always bring so much energy for a 2 hour class!! 2 hour class goes by super fast! I like that if you're struggling with how to move or any questions you have, they would break down the moves so it's comprehensible and answer any questions. Make sure you bring: good shoes, water and towel (if you sweat a lot) You can even record yourself, make sure the people behind you are ok with it. Restrooms in the building. Plenty of free street parking. Entrance: ring the bell for Gravity Dance because there are other companies sharing the building. The building is also super cool and the decor is so warehouse-like.

The entire class should've just been us practicing the steps and trying to get it faster, not trying to coordinate it with music. I had to leave halfway through class because it was so awkward and I wasn't getting any assistance or alternate instruction for different ways of trying things out.
