My son at only 2 1/2 years of age can speak and hold conversations with adults, knows his alphabet, can count, can do simple addition, can spell 3 letter words, knows patterns and plays well with other children. The school also holds special events allowing parents to bond and form friendship. Parents get together with to have play dates, do outdoor activities etc. Best school choice I could have made for my son.

High teacher turnover, bullying, and lacking curriculum are some of the things my son experienced at this daycare. After two months of attending Kangaroo Kids, two of the three teachers (including the lead teacher) in his classroom left within a month from each other. After they left, there were constant changes in the staff in his classroom. In addition to the constant changes in the classroom, he was verbally and physically abused by another kid. However, I was never notified by the school of the abuse or given a single incident report. Concerns about this other child's behavior were not addressed by the administration, despite it being known that this child was problematic. The bullying and constant changes of teachers in the classroom caused my son to have tremendous stress which eventually led him to stop talking in school. He would cry every morning before going to school. Another complaint I have about this school is the curriculum. I enrolled him at this school because I was sold on their foreign language program. After he was enrolled, I found out that there was no Spanish or Chinese class. Had I known this in the beginning I would not have enrolled him in this school. After 4 months there, I had to transfer him to another daycare. I wish my son had never gone to Kangaroo Kids.

With little prior knowledge of the traditional Montessori curriculum, our initial search expanded the spectrum. After a few facility tours, it was clear that we preferred the Montessori curriculum and style of learning over the traditional curriculum. What sold us further and made our decision easy was the day we visited the new Guidepost Montessori in Bridgewater. Sylvia Chen, assistant head of school, greeted us personally to provide a tour, answer our numerous questions, and help us through the application process. Our warm exchange and the beautiful facility spoke volumes for what we could expect from Guidepost. So much so that my husband and I agreed to submit our application for enrollment as soon as we left the school that day. Fast forward four months and my maternity leave was nearing its end. Sylvia and Jennifer Tisdale, head of school, both made it a point to reach out ahead of time to ensure our son's first day was well planned for. When we arrived for new student orientation our son's guides were prepared to meet us, and it was evident that great care had been given as his name was already visible noted around the classroom. Guidepost's gradual entry for new students allowed us, as well as our son, to adjust easily into our new environment. From the start, we have always felt like our son's needs were well attended to and cared for. The Nido guides are fantastic and are invested in getting to know you and your child. They always have our son's best interests in mind and keep us updated on his progress and needs. One thing we love about Guidepost is their consistent communication. Each day, we look forward to receiving photos and daily tracking notes from Ms. Perrone. While we cannot be with him during the day, this detailed level of communication makes us confident that our son is well cared for. In just the few months that our son has been attending, we have seen so much progress with him developmentally. He is reaching milestones early and becoming more independent each week. He is excited to go to school each day. It is amazing to see his growth and I know it is because of the support he is receiving from his guides. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Guidepost in Bridgewater has exceeded all our expectations.

The directors, assistants, teachers top to bottom are some of the best people I've ever worked with. We enrolled after the pandemic began and were very nervous about a lot of unknowns. As a first time parent, I was very nervous sending my daughter to daycare, but the teachers were wonderful with her and so patient and reassuring with me. The directors and staff are also very accommodating of the needs of the parents and are more than willing to work with you if you need help. My daughter has not only been well cared for, but she has also learned so much. The teachers are so caring, compassionate and creative. Weekly lesson plans are sent out so you know the theme of the week and all the activities they will be doing, which range from reading, music, science, sensory bins, practicing fine/gross motor skills, playing pretend, nature walks etc. The activities are just so creative and engaging for the kids. For example, today my daughter made a fire truck cookie using graham crackers, icing and Oreos. They also have someone come in and do a music class with the kids twice a month and yoga twice a month. There are also other additional optional programs offered such as dance, sports, and art. The enrichment activities are amazing, such as having visits from fire fighters, police officers, dentists, Santa as well as the teddy bear clinic, pony rides and at Halloween, a trunk or treat. They even offer a free evening event for families at Christmas time all Polar Express themed, with various activities and pictures with Santa. Summer camp is also incredible with weekly splash days on the playground, princess balls, dinosaur shows, bubble shows, petting zoo and field trips for the older kids. My daughter has picked up so much so quickly, all because of the varied experiences/activities they have provided for her. Choosing Crawlers to Scholars has been the best decision my husband and I could have made. We truly feel like we hit the lottery with this daycare.

Every aspect from staff to facilities to programming to to member administration have all been tops and perfect. They have all the skills, experience and tools with which to carry out their mission realized every hour of every day. It is such an important instrumental part of the community and we are so lucky to have their organized support therein. First the swimming: the aquatics program is infamously strong for every person of every skill from limited abilities all the way through Master swimmers with a few Olympians along the way. But really it is the everyday swimmer who comes and enjoys this experience with others simply and quietly that makes the quiet community so happy. Aquatics instruction can be variable but is generally very good. As always, the key is communication with the instructor and student both. They are every type of instruction in every type of format for every type of swimmer. There are three pools: warm, less warm, and cool (for the athletic types). If it's always wonderful for having very shallow, one for splash padding and acclimation as well as a infrequently open slide (seemingly just 30 minutes each Friday). Gym is extremely well equipped with every imaginable type of equipment and then some all in good quantities and state of repair. Shout out to the janitorial staff who do the unseen work of keeping everything as great, clean and sanitary as it needs to be. Thank you also to the maintenance and and engineering staff and supporting contractors for keeping his facility as good as we always hope it to be. The front desk does all welcoming individually with the card scans as well as having the green green rings for the under 12 swimmers to indicate they have passed the deep swim test. Member services are complete. The staff is knowledgeable, aided by how the IT system can keep up with all the requests. That system is online and self-service so takes care of most of your needs. Parking is always platiful with a vast space which has never run out of parking even during the annual car show days which takes more than half the lot. The lot is also used for a large number of community events so be sure to watch out for them as some are free to the public, not even only members. Life is better with the GSCYMCAband especially the Somerset Hills location.
