From the Receptionists to the Dentists working at Pentwyn, they always make me feel welcomed and are very friendly. Dr. David Gingell is a Dental Practitioner at Pentwyn. Having been a qualified Dental Surgeon since 1981 it has always been obvious to me that he knows what he is doing. The fact that he supports West Bromwich Albion means I have been able to have plenty of football banter with him since I am also a Baggie. Every time I have been to Pentwyn Dental Surgery, I have rarely been disappointed. The only minor criticism I would have is the wait. You could be waiting for at least five to ten minutes for your appointment with the Dentist Surgeon. So if you do have an appointment, get there early.

The dentist explained everything (including the prices) and made me feel totally at ease. Despite having to do a full check up, X-rays, 3 fillings and a clean & polish, they still managed to do all at the same time so I didn't have to go back, although there was no pressure to do so from them it was just more convenient for me. They've only been open a few months, so this might change when they have more clients. The dentist had a gentle manner and caused no pain despite having a fair bit of work to do. Overall, I was very impressed and so far the best dentist I've ever had (in my 35 years' experience), despite being quite happy with the last few. Would highly recommend!

I felt there was lack of communication, professionalism and a lack of explaination with the risks involved in procedure which the dentist had denied he did even though Im able to prove this. Strange. There was also extra work done without my consent were the teeth had been re shaped and contoured using a drill. I've been completely traumatised due to experience and would not recommend coming here. No genuine respect or dignity shown toward the patient.

The decor is light and airy, as you walk in you are warmly greeted by one of the reception staff. There is a tv and a small play area for toddlers. Once in the consulting room Dr Gabriel really puts you at ease, she is wonderful with the kids too. There is limited patient car parking place outside the building but plenty of off road spaces locally. The 997 and 28 buses stop just opposite.

From the outside, it looks very much like a private dentist, with very little to give away what it does (unless you count the teeth stickers on the window). There's certainly no big blue NHS sign to help guide you. I've only been to this dentist once and I was very impressed by the dentist himself. He was friendly, straightforward and seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. I also got the feeling that he wanted to sort my toothache out in the best way rather than the most expensive way (he told me that the £500 worth of work my previoius dentist had recommended I have would be ineffectual). What I found a little odd was that he was most insistent that I give my mobile number to the receptionist again after the appointment and make sure it was taken down correctly. I was then told I'd be rung with the results of an X-ray I had a few days later. No-one has ever rung. They also close for lunch, which is a nice and relaxed way of doing things. Perhaps I'll report back when (as I know will happen) I find myself in terrible pain and need to go back.

Today I tried using the Equality Act 2010 again and reasonable ajustments. And the receptionist kept talking over me deliberitly not wanting to let me use it for my health to help. So then they kept hanging the phone up, which never helped my condition so I kept phoning back. And even without answering cutting me off. I paid a lot of money to join this practice which they asked for and now they are not even answering the phone they blocked me. I'm my opnion they clearly have issues with people such as me with disabilitys. And use a protected act and you get worse treatment. I recorded the call today but also asked for their recordings under a subject access request under GDPR legislation which is free they have to give you it. Things got so bad today they made a threat against me for phoning up when they kept hanging up. So I contacted the Police for and was given a log number for any futher incidences. One manager stated to me about my treatment from the dentist. If you want to complain about treatment complain to him. I allready advised them the dentist scares me do to certain actions. So asked for ajustment for me not to deal with him directly and they ignored this as well. They tried to say he is inderpendent from them. But the fact is they have a duty of care. And they have what is legally known as a NON DELEGABLE DUTY" The amounts of money from what they state has gone right up over £1000 for me. Not the prices on their web page. You see the real side of these when you start to complain they are not so friendly then. And I am classed as disabilied.

Every time I'd passed there, I'd always wanted to go in and ask about the dental services they provide. Because I've seen signs being advertised across the Great Barr area, and I really needed a good dental surgery. I don't like dentists and I don't think many people do. So, when it came to the time when I knew I had to go, I had to make sure the surgery would be a great one. I'd heard so many good things about this surgery, so that's what convinced me to go with them. Once I registered with them, I received an exceptional service. Especially from the dentist that dealt with my dental treatment. It's great to know we have such brilliant dentists like this around which you can register with even if you don't live in that area. As it was an urgent treatment, I'm glad I went to a reputable surgery.
