The baked goods looked great. We got a couple of plain croissants to go which we saved for the next day. The store is only open Friday - Sunday. We order to basic breakfast sandwiches - bacon, egg and cheese. The egg comes cooked "over hard" - no option to do it another way. We ordered the food to go because we had our dog with us, waiting in the car. They do not allow dogs on the outside patio. The store has a selection of wine, and cocktail mixers, a selection of gifts and housewares, plus lots of jarred delicious things...salsas, sauces, jelly, jams. I purchased a peach salsa...it was delicious! The breakfast sandwiches came out quite fast but they made them to eat in instead of to-go. We decided it was ok to stay and eat because there were tables at the front of the restaurant where we could see our puppy in the car. She was fine so we sat and ate our breakfast sandwiches. They came with a small selection of fresh fruit which was lovely and nice surprise. The potato buns were light and fluffy, the bacon was cooked crispy, but the egg was disappointing because it was barely warm. Am guessing they cook the eggs is big batches not made to order which is why the food came out so fast...they are assembled sandwiches rather than made to order. Honestly though...we didn't care, we enjoyed the sandwiches and the fruit. The atmosphere inside and on the patio is adorable. Total country store vibe...they even had paper red checkered napkins. It would have been great to sit outside because the patio/yard area is beautiful...lots of flowers, very green, super pretty...but since we had our dog with us that wasn't an option.

The moment I saw it my expectations were high and even higher still when I met staff starting to pull things for the day. Unfortunately, we hit the store about 30 minutes before they closed. Staff were friendly and helpful and loaded us up with sugar treats from the bakery. My candy loving self was in awe of all the oldies and goodie brands I grew up with like Razzles and pop rocks. Really enjoyed the Market and will definitely come out earlier. Heard their breakfast was pretty amazing and if it is anything like the bakery treats I am in for one great breakfast. The general store had many interesting and locally sourced items including a large selection of produce, plants, and given the late hours a few boutiques of flowers. Was so much fun to look and see things and know this is a place you have to go multiple times.

Lucky to have found this new little gem, "The Nook Café"- As we walked in, we were greeted by the smell of fresh baked cookies which was hard to resist! Ordered a cup of vanilla oat milk latter, peanut butter cookie and cape codder sandwich (turkey on sour dough cranberry mayo spread) which was pretty good! It's a Thanksgiving sandwich :) They have a bar seating area available inside the coffee shop plus a dining area that can accommodate up to 12-14 ppl for lunch rush hour. I ordered what is called the Benedict Maddie which is their take on eggs Benedict. This is my go-to breakfast and their version was nearly inedible. From substituting the English muffin with a brioche bun that can't stand up to the moisture of the eggs and became a stodgy mess of sickly sweet pudding to the curdled and flavorless hollandaise that left me feeling sick afterward. Adding insult to injury was upcharging for ham that is a core ingredient of eggs Benedict. This was absurd given that already astounding prices they charge. Sides were potatoes which were okay, but it was also served with salad that I was suspect of given the current health issues with lettuce. My wife was equally disappointed with what was supposed to be a French omelette but turned out to be an overcooked, open face western omelette that was more like rubber than eggs. Her $9 blueberry smoothie was delicious though Service was slow with only two other tables occupied when we arrived, although our eventual server turned out to be quite pleasant. Coffee was never refilled and the bill for two people was just...well...arrogant. I guess this place really is French. The two stars are for the smoothie and our waiter. It was for a birthday I made cannoli cake but didn't want to make the actual cannolis to save time but wanted a higher quality version than price chopper I also got a latte and it was very good- nice and hot (some places they're kinda cooler) The service was great a woman with short brown hair helped me & made the latte. I had no idea. But I was just there this morning. I gazed into the pastry case at the croissants, and my heart sank. I felt sick. The croissants looked like something you would see in an airport. I think the croissants at Costco might be better. These were flat, flabby, and pale things. Far from the perfect, golden, flaky, structured, glistening beauties of the past. And this isn't about fond recollections. I have receipts. Photos from the past and pictures of the present. It's night and day. If the new owners aren't going to preserve Mrs. London's food, they should have the decency to put someone else's name on the joint. I too asked about the breads, and was told "their baker retired". Fortunately, Michael London taught other people to bake amazing artisan bread, and his legacy lives on elsewhere. Unfortunately, nobody at the shop bearing his name bothered to pick up the torch. What a shame. It is so sad. I am literally heart broken. This was one of my favorite bakeries in the country. I went out of my way to make a special stop in my limited time passing through the region. But I suppose nothing lasts forever, and this is a valuable reminder of that unfortunate fact. My days visiting Mrs. London's are over. I can no longer recommend it in good conscience. Perhaps the hot chocolate is still good, and the decor is still lovely. However, if you look closely at the glowing reviews, they all point back to a time that has now sadly passed.
