I've never had that experience until now. I got my blood pressure taken before x-rays maybe only 1 time before have I had my blood pressure taken - right before my wisdom teeth. Professional, kind, informative and they say that the patient is in control of their own care here. I've always felt like I was almost dictated as to what care I needed in my past dental experiences. I was given some great advice & recommendations for some dental problems I've been having - it was a great feeling leaving w/my future appointments. My daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled last August. I paid $475, which I was told at the time would be my portion after insurance. In December (four months later) I received a bill for $230. I called to inquire what these additional charges were for as neither of us had been in since August. I was told they would research it, send it back thru insurance if necessary, & call me back with the results. I never heard anything back, so I assumed it was handled. Yesterday I received a phone message threatening to send me to collections for the unpaid amount. I called today to find out what I had asked them to find out over a month ago & I was told it would not be sent back thru insurance, & that she couldn't tell me what this additional $230 was for. She just kept saying "I don't know what to tell you. You have an additional balance & I'd be happy to work out a payment plan with you." I don't want a payment plan! I want to know why I am being charged again almost half of the amount that I already paid (now SIX months ago), when I was told then that my account was paid in full! I pay my bills, but bills typically come with some sort of explanation & they don't come SIX MONTHS after the services are rendered! Quality Family Dentistry will no longer receive any of my business & I will pass on to everyone I know about their shady billing practices! There are plenty of reputable dentists in town that would be happy to take my business!

I finally decided to seek out a dentist because I was more afraid of how my teeth could hurt me opposed to how a dentist could hurt me. Just sitting in the dental chair with my cute little dental bib waiting for x-rays stressed me out and I had big tears rolling down my cheeks. I fanned my eyes trying to dry up my tears because I felt ridiculous. I mean I was just there for x-rays for crying out loud! My fear of dentists was that intense. Aaron came in , gave me a tissue and spoke so kindly to me with genuine caring and compassion. He has a boyish charm that puts you at ease. Of course that could be because of the braces on his teeth that he is sporting or perhaps his choice of super hero clothing articles like socks and tshirts. I think you might indeed be a super hero to choose a profession where not many people are especially excited to come see you. I mean, who really gets excited to go see a dentist? The diagnosis after x-rays? Two root canals and two crowns.... double ugh. I had one root canal last Friday and my other one today and I have to tell you dear readers... it went great. I am so happy now. No discomfort, no pain, no fear and no tears. Thank goodness! Dr Aaron Marks and his staff are phenomenal. His assistants are like your little dental cheerleaders. The appointments were long, with root canals you can plan on having a seat in that dental chair for a few hours so it gets a bit tedious but the girls would come in the room and tell me I was doing great and good job haha. The vibe of this place makes going to the dentist actually fun. How can this be? Well give them a try and you can see for yourself! I wish I could double the stars of this review. :)

This is never been the case. I was having a crown placed. Then I waited a long time. Then the hygienist came in to give me my injections of Novacaine. I've only had the doctor do that. She injected me into the roof of my mouth, which turns out was completely unnecessary. And then after they injected me, then they tell me the doctors running late. They had me wait so long the Novacaine completely wore off. Then when I was upset, they were like oh I don't wanna deal with you if you're upset. Dr. James is a big baby and he had his business handed to him from his father, and he's a spoiled brat. And that's Cindy, receptionist is a bitch and she's loud as hell. And it turns out that they had done the insurance wrong, so they thought that I had money for the crown and I'd already used my benefits. I didn't get the crown place, but if I had I would've had to pay for it all myself. I truly do not recommend this office at all. If they had handled things better, it would've completely been a different situation, but they just cared about making the money. And I've been going to them for years. They didn't have a problem with me at all until I had a complaint. And then they didn't want to deal with me. Horrible customer service.!

My oldest child was repeatedly misgendered by two different staff members. The front office person and the doctor clearly violated HIPAA while I was in the waiting room. The x-ray tech who did my youngest child's (who is 18) x-rays was judgmental and preachy about his oral health to me, clearly out of her scope of practice when she doesn't know his whole health story, which isn't any of her business. When I firmly and politely told her not to tell me how I feel, after trying to explain to her she was hurting me as she took my x-rays, and her telling me it's not hurting you, she got belligerent and stormed off through the halls of the practice saying "I'm not going to put up with being treated like this!" Like what, like you're not G*d gifts to dental professionals. I got news for you dear, you most assuredly NOT the only person who can do what you do.

The routine teeth-cleaning was done the old-school way, with skilled picking-by-hand instead of the awesome-water-pic which sometimes misses-the-mark and causes bleeding cuts, and the result felt smooth and good afterwards, and the price was reasonable and the 5% cash-discount was a little bonus too. When the insurance denied the claim the tried to have us pay until I confronted them about the false charges then they claimed that they had "accidentally put down the wrong codes" which I find very disturbing either way. I believe it was a blatant attempt at insurance fraud. When I tried to pay the correct bill later they refused to take my visa over the phone. Now my wife is going to a new dentist and when the new dentist requested a copy of her file, with her consent, Dr. Herbison asked to charge $25 to send the x-rays. The new dentist had received her file and notice that the x-rays that were taken were the wrong type for what needed to be done and that they were a more expensive charge to the insurance company. When I did go in to pay my bill they were nothing but rude to me and seemed irritated that I wanted to pay off my account. I suggest staying away from Dr. Herbison as I believe he is more of a scam artist then a dentist.

Ever since then when I called, they've told me I didn't owe anything & not to worry. First it was $492 then it became over $700. Today I got a letter that said that if I didn't pay it (it's back down to $492) within 10 days I'd get sent to a collection agency, with no explanation as to why I owe them. They don't even have the courtesy to call me & explain. I feel they are in the red & are scamming me for anything they can get. Don't do business with these people!
