Queen's Castle Restobar has recently had new management take over as well as a full menu overhaul…read moreand some interior renovations. A group of 5 of us walked in around 5:45/6 last Friday night. Upon entrance we were immediately greeted by the friendly hostess who asked if we had reservations. The "new" QC was packed and buzzing with energy. We didn't have reservations so a manager came quickly to see what was going on. He made space for us and got us seated right away. Lindsay was our server - very friendly and personable. She was attentive the entire time. We ordered two appetizers - coconut shrimp and nachos with chicken. Both came relatively quickly despite a full restaurant, were hot and flavourful. We'd order both again! Could've had more sour cream, salsa, guac, with the nachos, but I find that's fairly typical. For our mains, we had the curry chicken (quite spicy, flavourful, braised), haddock and chips (Friday special), kids cheeseburger and fries, chicken and shrimp stirfry, and a steak wrap. We also ordered wings to share. The fries that came out with the fish were cold, but when we told the server she brought a bowl of hot fries right away. No arguments. Everything was flavourful and delicious. Didn't have to wait too long to get our meals either. We liked all of our entrees and were happy that the fries were fresh - like chip truck fries - not frozen. You could tell everything was home made and made to order. A huge improvement from previous ownership! We also enjoyed seeing both managers/owners present on the floor. Both came by during our meal to ask how we were enjoying. Genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Another nice touch was live music - acoustic guitar and singer a bit later in the evening. We will be back!

Chicken wings were tasteless for chicken but had a weird soapy taste that not even the sauce could cover up. Wings were reheated at least 2 times come frozen and to save money they only get the 1 kind. .....breaded. Fries are old limp with no taste. Breakfast sausage were cheapest you can imagine.... extra msg and salt So mushy. spring rolls were all batter there were no Vietnamese rice wrapped ones. Bread is that Texas thick cheap stuff. Absolutely no quality what so ever.......none. I gave 1 star because coffee was good. Just a dive eatery.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and everything was really good. Located right on the corner going down Lundy's Lane, the place looks very simple from the outside, but once you walk through the doors you realize you are in for an elegant dining experience. Started out with a orange Pellegrino which was wonderful, they brought out some bread and this amazing honey and ricotta cheese spread. Absolutely to die for but be careful. It would be easy to fill up on that and miss out on the wonders of the meal that's coming. I started the meal off with their Caesar salad which was absolutely perfect. The right amount of dressing lettuce was second to none and it was one of the most delicious Caesars I've had. I opted for the gnocchi oso buco ragu, which was absolute perfection. Be careful though, these gnocchi are no joke. The taste will keep you eating all of them and you will absolutely be ready to take a nap afterwards. Bottom line? If you are looking for fine dining in the Niagara falls area, you would be doing yourself a disservice not going to this restaurant. It's absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend it!

Beautiful, beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere, soft music, amazing service by Juan our waiter. We started with Caesar salad and the bruschetta appetizers - Boyfriend's salad was very good. I liked the capers and strong hint of anchovies in the dressing (which he always has on the side). Bruschetta was not what I expected - I felt it was missing something, not much flavor - although the bread was super fresh and tomatoes perfectly ripe. As mains he had the Americana pizza (pepperoni) and I had the lamb, served with a citrusy risotto and rapini. I loved the lamb! Highly recommend. It was literally so tender that I didn't need the knife to cut it! We asked Juan how the cook made it that way - he wouldn't tell and said it was the kitchen's secret! It was delicious. Risotto was perfect too. I'm not a fan of rapini but it was well cooked and seasoned. Boyfriend regretted his choice a little, although he says his pizza was good - but after tasting my lamb, he was sorry he didn't choose a meat dish. I had a shot of Amaretto on ice and the cannolis for dessert. Delicious and obviously homemade. I was a bit put off that a bus boy pulled out our appetizer plates while we were still actively eating. Hint, if our forks are in our hand and we're bringing them to our mouth with food on it, we're not done yet :/ Not the first place this happens and a pet peeve of mine... but whatever. Also, the couple with 5 kids... 5 kids omg... maybe this wasn't the best restaurant choice for you if you are going to let the two small ones run wild around the dining room and almost hit a waiter with a tray of drinks... but this isn't the restaurant's fault. We will return! Worth it just for the amazing lamb, and a short 5 minute walk from the Doubletree hotel, if you are staying there!

No reservations, and it was busy, but we were given a table right away. Wine came right away while we checked out the menu and we're given recommendations by the lovely women sitting at the next table, who apparently were there once a week. We started with the grilled calamari and garlic bread with cheese (any excuse for melted cheese). I've never had calamari like it. First of all it was the most incredibly tender calamari I've ever had. Melted in your mouth. Dish had a bit of spice with peas, corn, grilled red onion, and pancetta. Excellent. I'd go back just for that. Bread took awhile to get to us and it was forgettable. Way to garlic buttery, which means it was wet and the cheese wasn't browned enough. I'd pass next time. Split the warm mushroom salad. Loved it. A ton of fried mushrooms on spinach with a warm dressing. Not sure what those croutons were but I'd also pass on them. Then we both had a chicken pizza with pesto and roasted peppers. It was perfect. The right charring with large grilled pieces of chicken breast. Loved it. We were stuffed by the time we had 2 pieces, packed up the rest for home. No room for dessert but the selection was great. Especially the selection of gelato. Next time.

Nice tasty Italian food. Good selection of wines. Friendly service but busy. A bit crowded…read more Definitely worth going.
