I enjoyed my meetings with her. She always so the positives and the possibilities, even when it came to my own songs. She was extremely supportive of working on my original music and helped me feel confident with the few songs I wrote that were pretty high on my range. She's also a very real person, so we could focus but we could also laugh or acknowledge if we were struggling a bit that day. She offers all of her students, piano and singing, to participate in a recital that is hosted by an elderly care facility for which she volunteers her time, I believe to do singing or choir. I suggest for any potential student to take that opportunity in that low stress environment with Kristen's support and other supportive students to practice being in front of people. Also, the residents really appreciated it. While meeting in person would have been nice and probably has some advantages, working remotely was really convenient and still quite effective. I highly recommend Seattle City Music with Kristen for your vocal or piano lessons!

After just a few weeks of working with Robert I was hitting notes I thought I couldn't before, because he showed me the exact exercises that would enable me to release tension and constriction in my throat. Not only does he do Skype lessons, but he has an entire training system online and a book to follow along with. Ever since then I've had an understandable fear of singing in front of people; A fear that I wanted to conquer. I needed a voice instructor who I could trust, who was easygoing, who had an open mind and a forgiving ear. I found what I needed in Kristin Chambers. Kristin is a talented, multi-faceted performer in her own right, and she put me completely at ease and made it clear that I'd be working at my own pace. She helped me set some realistic goals and then systematically helped me achieve them. I was a beginner and starting out at ground zero; but Kristin pushed me when I needed pushing, and didn't allow me to beat myself up when I was struggling. She was an A+ cheerleader. Because I can't take the lessons right now, I LOSE THEM, per company policy. $200 down the drain on these folks. This is terrible customer service and very bad business practice (if not illegal). I used to have my work done at Mike Lulls Guitar Works. When Mike passed, I was desperately looking for a Luthier. When Aaron told me that apprenticed under Mike, I was overjoyed!!!
