We ended up here after a really bad experience with Three Rivers Paintball park and I must tell you that I'm so glad we did! The staff here was amazing and so accommodating. They explained everything to our group as this was their first time trying Paintball. There weren't tgat many other customers when we arrived because it was early so we ended up having our own referree and he was fantastic with our group. We ended up staying for hours as the boys in our group did not want to leave! I ended up purchasing multiple cases of Paintballs so they could keep playing. Here's a tip... when you check into this business through Yelp you get a coupon for a discount on cases of Paintballs. So don't forget to check in. The day that started so horribly ended up being so fantastic thanks to this place. The boys said they wanted to have their birthday parties here so I look forward to going back! This is for the new indoor location in New Kensington, not the outdoor park. The kids had a good time, which is why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1. I made our reservation 2 weeks in advance. The downpayment is the cost of one player, so that's what I paid on the online form. The reservations and waivers were all online and that part was pretty nice, especially being able to see who had filled out waivers (because in this day and age, RSVPs seem to be optional.) The paintball arena is in an old industrial park, so I wasn't expecting a shiny building. However, it was definitely a "sketchy" feel from the moment we pulled into the parking lot. THere were absolutely no signs whatsoever to find the location, other than the "29" on the outside of the back building. We walked into what felt like a dilapidated auto shop. There was water and muck on the floor in the entrance, and no signs to point us to where to go. A sad sign marked "conncessions" was written on posterboard and shoved in the corner. We heard people talking, so we followed the voices to the front desk. The family working the front (I think it was a family, as it was a man, a woman and a child) were very nice and very polite. Several members of our party had paid me the money for their players in advance, so I handed the lady running the register a list with the last names of the people I was paying for. Somehow, several members of our party were asked to pay regardless and no one really double checked the list, so they had to issue a few refunds. The desk also told me they had no record of my downpayment so I had to pay for my children again. (I plan on reviewing my bank statement because I'm 99% sure it went through at the time of the reservation. Now here is where it gets bad. We were lead to the "party room." It was a dark, dingy room. Trash cans were overflowing and extremely smelly. There was a defunct "concession stand" setup in one corner. Empty pizza roll boxes, some stained with grease, were on the ledges, the tables, and scattered throughout the room. The floor was concrete and looked like it hadn't been swept in months. Tables were sticky and littered with confetti and debris from a previous party, including those little toothpick decorations kids stick in cupcakes. This was also the "staging area" for the kids between rounds, so they would come in to refill their paintball guns in the room, leading to dozens of paintballs on the floor causing a slipping hazard. There were no paper towels, napkins, or anything. One of the parents ran to the store and bought clorox wipes, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and disposable tableclothes so the kids could eat on a reasonably clean surface. At no point did the staff register that we were doing this, at no point did they say, "oh, that trash needs emptied" or even did they apologize for the condition of the room, despite several staff members being in the room to do the safety demonstration and deposit the children back between rounds. I contacted the owner through Facebook to let them know about this, and I was offered "free passes" for the outdoor venue, which is quite a bit away from this one. But, I was told, we would have to pay for our own paintballs at $25 / person. Like I said, the kids had fun, so as long as you aren't expecting a hygenic experience, go for it. I would certainly not plan to have a party there ever again though. read more

Clay is great. Rest of the experience was sub par. All the fields are extremely small, compact, and just poorly put together. The speed ball field was deflated for the majority of our time. The staff didn't seem prepared. They were also understaffed and we spent more time sitting around waiting for a ref than actually playing. Your money is better spent elsewhere. I've definitely been to better places in the Burgh. I would not come back here. read more

It was fun, but none of the staff were wearing masks cuz of COVID-19 and none of them were keeping the 6ft social distancing rules. A lot of us felt very uncomfortable. The place also wasn't the cleanest. read more

SteelTown Paintball Park is one of the best paintball field in PA. They have really nice staff, that can answer all your questions. The fields are clean and in good shape. The reff are great their quick and right on a guy if he gets hit. Also, they have a kick a$$ pro shop, which I would recommend to everyone to go and purchase your paintball items from. So if your looking to have a great time playing paintball i recommend going to SteelTown. read more

One of the best paintball fields I have ever been to! The psp field layout has some of the best turf I have played on and the field is kept very clean. Steeltown's woodsball field has many different terrains to play on and its large size allows scenario play to last for hours of fun! The military Base field allows you to have close combat with large groups.The owner and the staff are very helpful and eager to help out to any needs possible. All the referees are very professional and put safety first in all aspects of play. With an enormous paintball pro shop right down the road this is a huge plus!!! After playing for hours on end Steeltown will grill out hamburgers and hot dogs and has a very good selection of snacks and drinks to stay hydrated . Steeltown paintball park is large enough for really big parties and with very large rental fleet you can show up as a first time player and be able to have equipment like the pros !!! Spent over $450 dollars on an event there and received the following in service: 1. Took over an hour and 15 minutes of our time to get to us as a group, go over directions, walk over to get our equipment in order to play. 2. Played only 2 games with our two hour allotment (read why above). 3. Some employees were okay (particularly safety) some were totally aloof. We asked them to order pizza with an hour left of our time (while still dealing with directions and equipment). The most aloof was the head guy who was told our pizza order said he would order it and an hour later guess what....I had to go down to them to ask what the situation was with the pizza order....and surprise they didn't order it!! This was place was an extreme disappointment and should be ashamed of their business practices. They seemed too worried about shooting the paintball guns and releasing smoke bombs on the side of the road then helping/working with paying customers. Also a very dirty place to try to have a party. I never write reviews. I don't have time for them. But it is important for people to know the type of organization this is and the experience we had. Do not waste your time or money. My son had to wait 2 hours to play, then they were out of paint balls, so we waited longer, then they didn't have enough rental guns. Eventually he got to play which is why I gave 2 starts instead of 1, but we will never return. read more

Great time! Had my son's 12th birthday here with many boys who had never played before. The staff was super helpful from helping me plan my date right through to the end of the party. As long as you reserve equipment you can get on the field within 10min. the fields were about 100x100 meters, so there was a lot of action, its not very big either so you can get on quick. My friends and I played for about 4.5 hours, minus the time to reload and stock up on air. Overall I would suggest It for casual matches but not often, read more

My recent experience with this place was disappointing, after having a solid experience the first time. I went with a group of 10 people in "Free Play" on a busy Saturday. We anticipated longer wait times due to the larger group of players in the pool, but what we got was ridiculous. We waiting upwards of 45 minutes between games and they only had 1 ref working at a time while 30 people waited around. What's worse, we ended up waiting another 15 minutes for one of the refs to put on his super-special gear and PLAY with us. He should have instead been reffing another group of paying customers. This organization should really anticipate busy days and have the appropriate number of refs to keep people entertained instead of under-staffing and making people feel ripped off. Also, the ref we had most of the time dropped about 30 F-Bombs and dick jokes to our group, which was comprised of several children under the age of 12. Very inappropriate, even for a "bro sport" like Paintball. Otherwise this is a good facility with potential for a lot of fun, but not if 75% of your time is spent waiting around. read more
