After being closed for eight months since April 20 24. I really enjoy going to this theater. The staff is helpful and friendly. Great that you can have a meal while watching a movie. I've tried the pizza and cheeseburger and french fries. Very good and reasonably priced. This is a great independent theater in the Pine Hills area of Albany. Please go out and support the Theatre. The owners are trying very hard and people need to come out in large enough numbers so the Theatre can break even financially make a small profit would be great as well. They have trivia night on Fridays. So just come on out see a movie. Enjoy eating something during the film or before you go in to the theater. Keep the movie magic going up on the silver screen.

Then a few minutes after that another patron came back in after trying to get his money back to announce that the movie was not going to play at all. There was no manager or anyone at the theater that knew how to start the movie!!! The poor cashier was on the phone with someone directing him how to scramble for money to give people cash back. I think they even used the bar tips. Incredible. It was obvious that there were only catering to the bar crowd that were doing a trivia night in the lobby. Don't waste your time and money with this place.

My burger was done perfectly, and the fries were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside (double fried maybe?). The boozy shake (maple bacon bourbon) was mostly bourbon, and no complaint here, but there was definitely ice cream in it, also. Lastly, it's good food and good times, as the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. As I was heading home, I passed the theater and saw on the marquee Mad Max was starting in ten minutes. Not the new Mad Max mind you, the original. Movies are meant to be seen on the big screen. Some are fine at home, but I don't have a man cave and I don't turn the sound up loud. Going into a theater is an immersive experience and really helps you to focus on the picture. Amazingly, even on a Saturday night, including myself there were only three people in the audience. And for a moment there I thought I was going to have a private showing. Part of that may be that despite the sign suggesting a 9:30 start time, the box office looked closed. And when I tried to suggest to the lady behind the concession stand that I'd like to see a movie, she didn't quite seem prepared to sell me a ticket. And when I asked where to head from there, she had to once again leave to find out. It was really quite odd. Also odd were the ratting and banging noises coming from the air conditioning grates in the ceiling of theater four. Once the action picked up, it wasn't quite as distracting as I had feared, but I hope they get it fixed. Much like I hope they get the theater cleanliness fixed. Because there was an empty soda can in the arm rest left over from a prior showing. Like I said, none of these things will prevent me from going back. I love seeing older movies on the big screen. But it could explain why the place wasn't more busy. I'll look forward to awarding this theater a fifth star as it grows and becomes a vital part of the community.

Ten Broeck Mansion is in a very bad neighborhood: Arbor Hill, which is often in the papers for all the worst reasons. Come here at noon and stay until the early afternoon, before dusk. It faces East on a gentle sloping grass hill surrounded not by trees, but yards, flowers and some gazebos that visitors can walk through on their way to visit this brick Colonial home. Signs and plaques are all over the landscape, visitors are able to read up on all the vital points of the Dutch Ten Broeck Mansion and Estate. There are very few seats or benches. Abraham Ten Broeck (the last name proverbially means, 'Ten Trousers') was a businessman and early Colonial Politician that was involved in trade in Greater Albany, NY. Ten Broeck mansion is very impressive and has stood well, the ravages of time. Its exterior and interior are very well maintained; visitors do not visit some broken, grey, half-busted, collapsed dwelling - like in New England. Truth be told, this Mansion is a really good picture spot for couples, families, weddings, picnics and the like. Some vandals in Spring 2023 wrecked all the kids' learn-as-you-go signs, pictures and reading posts. The gazebos and signs are slowly being rebuilt to their former enjoyability. The mansion's interior is wonderful! Review: 5

The lead talent was excellent, and all was well done. I ordered tickets online, and there's more regret: the staging was different from years past. I thought getting seats which seemed close but to the side would give us a good view, but no. The action was just in the center of the stage, and the sides of the stage blocked off/covered by scenery. It made it very difficult to see the whole ensemble, especially at the angle we were at. Literally, probably the quarter of seats on the left and right sides had difficulty seeing. If you go- sit in the very center. I got a stiff neck from sitting in their chairs since I had to keep my head turned the whole show! P. S. - the ladie's rooms looked great - clean and maybe renovated?

The professional company has adult and children musicals that offer choice seats for purchase and free seats (bring your own chair) amphitheater style raised seating on the hill. Great seats where ever you sit! Just a wonderful evening we have been enjoying for quite a few years now. Regretfully I don't know why we didn't try it sooner maybe when our kids were younger it's so important to offer your children access to the arts!
