Roger, the owner of A Better Climate said he would come out the next morning and see what was going on. He arrived perfectly on time, checked a few things and charged it up with freon. He then proceeded to clean the units and wash the fins, being very meticulous about making sure everything was clean and working properly. I watched him and was impressed with how thorough he was. The price was very reasonable and after this service my units have never worked better. Even the hottest August days this year did not seem to even get close to overtaxing my A/C system. I truly believe that having A Better Climate do a regular minor service on my system with the season changes will add several years to their life. Roger, the owner did not try to oversell me even when I asked him about replacing my unit. He told me exactly what it would take to make my system work correctly. I will definitely be using them for replacement of my units when they finally wear out. Out of all of the repair services I've had work on my house, none have impressed me more than A Better Climate. They seem to take great pride in their work and their honesty and fairness are greatly appreciated. Highly, highly recommended!

Tuffy's Air Conditioning & Heating Service has been an absolute hero in getting our air…read moreconditioning up and running again. From the very first call, I knew we were in good hands: the owner personally took my call, walked me through troubleshooting steps to try before the technician could arrive, and made a stressful situation so much easier. Our technician, Angel, was phenomenal--coming back several times, working in the blazing heat of our attic, and never giving up until everything was fixed and running perfectly as fast as possible. Their dedication to service, professionalism, and communication is superior. They're always available, always kind every time I call, and they genuinely care about their customers. We live in Weatherford, and it means a lot that a local company like Tuffy's truly cares about us. They feel less like a vendor and more like friends. If you need honest, hardworking, reliable AC service in Weatherford, call Tuffy's. They've earned our trust and our highest recommendation.

I needed a new HVAC repair company to help me after the company I have used the last nine years…read morerefused to honor their warranty. I wanted a small local company, so I called Calvin's. I am very happy I did. They were very honest and fair with the complete repair. They were easy to communicate with, returned calls immediately, and showed up when they said they would. The techs were knowledgeable, polite, and respectful. Really all you could ask for from any repair company.

I'll start with the positives: our AC is cooling again, and the technician was prompt, courteous,…read moreand professional. If this review were only about the onsite work, it would be higher. My concern is the high price and how the company responded when I asked for transparency. The tech diagnosed a failed capacitor and a faulty liquid-line pressure switch. We paid $1,233 total: $89 Service call + 269 Capacitor replacement + $875 Liquid-line pressure switch replacement. The $875 line item is what prompted this review. To get the part, the technician drove to Carrollton for an OEM switch. The drive, pickup, and install took about two hours total. While they were procuring the part, I did some research. An OEM switch of this type retails for about $50-$150, and a typical all-in price for this repair is around $300-$450. At $875, even valuing the part generously at $300, that leaves $575 for two hours of labor -- nearly $290/hour, on top of the separate $89 service call. That's well above standard rates. What bothered me most: before I paid, I called the office and asked for a breakdown of the $875 price. The rep declined to itemize, said the rate was "industry standard" (it's not), and dismissed my questions. I paid the invoice promptly, but deciding to urgently fix your AC in Texas heat is not the same as being clear on if what you're paying is reasonable. Net net, I should've done due diligence on the quote and I paid the price for it (literally). I originally called Calvin's for help because it seemed to have a good reputation with pricing and doing right by the customer, but their refusal to explain why I was charged 2x benchmarks makes me feel like I was overcharged. My advice to future customers: do your due diligence and benchmark the quote before you authorize the work. Flat rate pricing shouldn't absolve a company from telling you what you're paying for exactly.

After dealing with a horrible American home shield warranty request, I finally got fed up with then and did a search for AC companies in Watauga. Pratt Pro Ac, is a what every business should strive to be. He was able to come over late in the day, take a look at my parent's system and make a recommendation and also had additional choices. He was able to setup the system the next day. Now for the part that makes this company stand out from the rest. He discovered that the existing wiring was very old and the wrong gage for the current system or the new one and had to be replaced. After he spoke to me while I was a work, I asked if he knew of anyone that could help. Within hours he had acquired an electrician, that was able to come by and look at the wiring and get it replaced. Mind you this was for my parents' house during the middle of summer, and they are both 84 and have been living in the den with a window unit for a week because of AHS. Johnathan went above and beyond anything I could have ever asked for in a local family-owned company. This is the type of customer service is that is missing from most companies, and Pratt Pro exemplifies a truly great local family own business, and will have my business in the future.
