I had a great stay here! It feels a little more upscale than other staybridges. Our room went out to the shared space back patio that has a gazebo/fire table, and it was really nice. Breakfast was excellent and goes til 930. Anytime I can get one of those pour your own batter flippy waffles im happy, but it was great other than that - I liked that they had a whole oatmeal bar. It's a 25 minute walk down to lower harbor so you're really right in the heart of downtown. They do cute breakfast and social hour things to but we weren't here for those. Oh and they're pet friendly, so our dog had a great stay too. I'd stay here again for sure.

I've got 2 words for you... ADA friendly! Now those words have a caveat... you HAVE to get the accessible room. Me and my family had a mix up with Expedia, and almost did not get the ADA accessible room! Luckily, the staff here is amazing and got us into this accessible room! 1 bedroom with a pullout couch, kitchen, patio (for some reason only available to rooms on the 1st floor...), and a MASSIVE bathroom with a ROLL IN SHOWER, SHOWER CHAIR, AND REMOVABLE SHOWER HEAAAAAAAD!!!! Sorry, can you tell I'm excited? Some tips however. Bring your own shampoo as the pumps that have the free stuff are across the shower from the shower chair, and ask the staff if they can pull the shower head down for you (if you choose to use it), and the towels as those are all pretty high up. My mom was doing laundry and said the dryer was the same way being that it was stacked... so I can't give it a pull 5 stars for that reason. Last thing I want to talk about is this weird lock... door handle... thing. I'm sure it has some use for a certain kind of disability... but it's a bit strange. You use it to shut the sliding door, but it can lock behind you if you shut it too hard, and then unlocking it can be tricky... pushing the plate up and also down locks it... then in the middle is unlock. So don't panic. If it really doesn't work, a credit card or skinny object will do the trick! Other than that, 100% recommend to any wheelchair user in this area!

There is underground parking that is heated, and the road leading to the parking is heated too so that it never freezes going down the hill!

The hotel itself has a…read morehistorical look and is located close to the center of downtown, which is small but charming. The check in process was easy and parking while minimal was adequate during my stay. They offer complimentary coffee and water when you walk in which was a nice touch. The elevator is very old and extremely slow and I found myself thinking stairs might be faster. As for the room I had heard ahead of time not to stay on the sixth floor due to reported haunting activity so I was on the fifth. Each room is supposed to have a theme but mine felt rather dull and uninspired. Unfortunately the room was dusty and I found hair in the sink from a prior guest which was off putting. The bed was comfortable and the temperature was cold when I arrived at 62 degrees which I actually liked. The view was nice but the room was very loud in the evenings. I suspect I was right below the sixth floor bar because I could hear chairs dragging and plenty of noise until about eleven or twelve at night. On the positive side the staff was kind and nobody was rude. I also tried their restaurant pub twice and it was excellent. The fish and chips cheese curds and chicken strips were all delicious and I highly recommend eating there even if you are not staying at the hotel. Overall while I appreciated the history the location and the food I would not stay here again. My three star review is more about the cleanliness issues and the constant noise from above. For two nights in a king room the total was eight hundred twenty five dollars and for that price I expected a cleaner room better upkeep and more amenities.

Our room preference (high floor/ end room) was granted - much to my husband's dismay... as he was carrying the tour back to the furthest possible point from check- eek. (We did move the bike to the other end for check-out & he was in a much better mood after that shorter trek.) The rooms were noted as renovated a few years ago. Had I not known going in, I'd have guessed 80s (as the hubby did when I asked him to date the last update). The ceiling is concrete & painted mauve, making for (much appreciated) serious noise reduction & perhaps a bit of a hospital or prison feel, if you will. The walls are a light gray, as is the furniture. The artwork (3 pictures) was oddly small (8x10) & hung oddly. They furnishings were, perhaps, excessive. To open up the space & reduce the crammed in strangely look, I'd suggest removing a couple of things. There was a wall shelf/ TV holder. Under that was a desk, literally pushed under, as was dresser. It looked as if the furniture was pushed back for cleaning, stacking it up. There was also a wardrobe, chair & table that slides over the chair (think tv tray). The room was exceprionally clean & in excellent condition. It was 3/4 bath with a large shower - no tub. The bed was comfortable & temperature control worked well. The pool & sauna are not to be missed! The location is great for accessing assorted things to do. All in all a very good stay. We simply have a different taste than the decorator did, apparently. We are platinum with IHG & booked directly, without using points.

The only reason I gave this a 4-star is because of one of the front desk staff. She was too nice to where it felt like her interactions were fake. She also was not accommodating when we asked about using a space that was empty, for a meeting. We had 20 people staying there so to ask to use an empty dining room for 1/2 hour should not have been an issue. Even with that being said, I'd go back. They have a great pool, hot tub, and sauna!

Not only was it easy to find, the view of Lake Superior from our second floor room was amazing!!! It was also nice that we were on the end, and the motel was not overly busy - so it was really quite in the evening. The room itself was quite large, with a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge/freezer, and sink. The bathroom was also large and included towels and the basic amenities. We had a king size bed, which was very comfortable! The TV was so nice (picture quality far better than my tv at home) and there were so many channels. My favorite are always the music video channels - great for background music! The patio was large and it was lovely to sit out and watch the sunset. Although it is located off a main road, the surroundings and atmosphere was very quite and peaceful. It was evident there had been recent updates/renovations, so recent there was not a rod or hangers in the closet. In fact, there were few places to lay out clothes. There was one table top, desk top, 2 night stands, and single chair in the room. We were there for 3 nights, so it wasn't too bothersome and I am sure they will finish installing these minor items soon. There is an outdoor pool, it was not in use during my stay (it was a brisk 55-65F). I booked using Hotels.com and they text you the door code prior to your arrival. I had called customer service with a question and they were extremely helpful. Overall, 5 stars! Highly recommend and would stay here again :)

They were professional, courteous and very friendly going over the rooms available and letting me know exactly what to expect. A second story room with a queen bed overlooking Lake Superior. The motel is on Hwy 41 just outside of downtown Marquette MI. The views of Lake Superior are fantastic. We were on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the lake and a deck overlooking the woods. The room has a mini kitchenette with a sink, two burner stove combo, refrigerator and microwave. Dishes, silverware, a couple of pans, dish soap and towels are also included. Cute and convenient. There are also grills and picnic tables on the grounds for your use as well. Our room was $89.00/night plus tax. How can you pass up a deal like this? There is a pool, continental breakfast and the rooms are extremely clean. They do not provide shampoo, lotion, or hair dryers. Alas, there is a slight downside which resulted in a loss of a star. We booked for four nights. The fourth day we did not receive a full room service. Just a change of towels. we had depleted our soap and it was not refilled, the bed was not made up and the trash was not emptied. A slight mishap, but one which would not keep us from staying here again.

Decided to give them a try again. After a delayed flight I arrived at this hotel after midnight. The parking in front was full so I drove to the back. The front desk lady Vanessa was very pleasant and thanked me for calling them to tell them I'd be arriving after midnight. I asked if my room was close to the doors she said yes which was great. But the it gets bad. I told her I drove around and saw it but came back to the front because those doors require a key. To mt horror and dismay she said no it's unlocked no key required. And she was correct I drove back around to unload and I walked right in. I will never stay here again since anyone without a key can access the hotel in back and the front desk will never see you.
