I don't mean to disparage this place too much, but there are a few concerns I'd like to address: - My son fell on the bunny hill, and when he was taken to the infirmary to assess his injuries, one of the questions they asked him was whether he was wearing a helmet. We were never at any point offered a helmet. Didn't know they were available. We did appreciate the care he received by the ski patrol. - Wish there was a shorter ski pass option available. It was my mistake to assume skiing conditions would be OK on an icy March day, but I ended up skiing all of 30 mins. in very poor conditions and spending $300 on three of us to ski and take a short snowboard lesson. - Love the "Learn to" package deal. It was confusing when and whether this was offered, but once we determined it was, we really appreciated the intro lesson. - Ski rental -- the person working here did not set up my bindings correctly and I had to go back and have him fix it. - Apparently there was a group of people sitting in the lodge laughing and making fun of the inexperienced skiers falling. Not the fault of the ski hill, but just thought people might like a heads up about the culture and clientele this place might attract. Won't be returning here next time we're in the UP. Just not a great vibe overall. People really should be ashamed of this kind of behavior. It's not the Michigan that I grew up in. read more

I have grown up skiing in the Midwest majority of my life. This place is decent size but if your looking for a beginner place then be wise. Majority of the hills are blue square and black diamonds, this wasn't a problem for us be could for others. Three lifts, not busy when I went on a weekend. 4 stars because both days we went it took well over a half hour-hour to get my boyfriends rentals. They were not busy at all I just think they need to be more organized with how they have it set up due to covid. They also got his gear out when he bought lift tickets at 8:30am. They left his gear for an hour and a half outside and didn't give him warm boots. Overall, definitely check this place out. Tons of fun. read more

Nice ski hill in the city of Marquette. Wish more runs would have been open, nothing you can do about the lack of snow though. Last time I was here was two years ago. Since then they've added restrooms on the main floor which is really nice. I really like that they have Night skiing and various prices throughout the day. Last time we were here they had a really cool outdoor seating section by a fire pit outside. They don't have that anymore and we were pretty bummed by it. I have been going to Marquette Mountain since I was able to walk and it has forever been a home to me however, this year has been beyond disappointing and I have unfortunately had to resort to expressing my concerns and dismay to the internet as the new manager is unreachable. After asking to speak to the new manager to talk about the concerns I will address below I was informed that he was "vacationing in Jamaica" for the next several weeks. I was flabbergasted to find out that not only is the essential infrastructure (snow making) not working but the new said "manager" is off vacationing while Marquette Mountains customers, season pass holders and life long guests are suffering due to his lack of ownership and dedication to what many of us call a home. My mom has had, and paid for, a rented locker for over 15 years which she paid for again this year. This year we got to the ski hill to get our equipment out of the locker and noticed our lock had been removed and our equipment was gone. We later, thankfully, found it laying in the upstairs daycare room. Luckily nothing was missing. This is when we discovered the managers hiatus and were unable to find answers as to why our lock had been cut and received no reimbursement. Today is Christmas Day and my family (season pass holders of 20+ years), along with many others, have a life long tradition of spending the day skiing and barbecuing together. Unfortunately, we were informed that the ski hill would no longer be open on Christmas (assuming this is also due to the managers vacation schedule). I hope to someday (in the near future) be able to re-rate this place that I consider home and I hope to see more dedication from the manager who has assumed the job and responsibility of maintaining our home. read more

Place is ran down. Always short staffed. Usually only one lift running. Day tickets are $72 & the value isn't there. Go to the porkies. Go to boho. Go to nubs. Cafe line food is $6cup of soup or $4 for an average candybar. read more

SCAM!!! Normally not one to complain, but I'm in total disbelief with their terrible customer service. Charged me $170 for boots and ski lift rental to which I called for a refund over a month out from my booked trip. They said it would be no problem as I had called with enough time ahead of my planned trip. They explained that their refund associate was out and would call me back. At first, I was understanding. However, I have called numerous times since then to get the same response and no refund or help. My refund was initiated back in February and STILL no one has helped me. They bounce me around from representative to representative. I have called numerous times, they are impossible to get ahold of. When you do get ahold of someone, no one will help you. It's been over 2.5 months since I originally called and requested a refund to which they keep saying the refund representative is out. I would give zero stars if possible, completely unprofessional organization. read more

Such a huge disappointment. I came to NMU because of Marquette Mountain, only to find out that this business doesn't care about its community AT ALL. They shut down a school event because people just sitting and watching (not participating) had not paid to participate in the event. People traveled from far places and paid money to come to this event just for it to be shut down before it even started. And for the general manager to be rude and condescending towards people that are giving her money to ski at the mountain is ridiculous. To claim that "you're a general manager so you don't have to deal with customers" is just so wrong. read more

Would not recommend going here. Bad management style and operation. A school club event got shut down by the GM (general manager; Jessie) due to people that were not participating in this event, not having a ticket for this event. Also a few people got their passes taken from false accusations. Should I add that the park features are VERY unsafe and janky. Marquette Mountain is not a fun friendly place. read more

Big mountain (by Michigan standards) with a family feel.

We arrived 5 minutes after they closed rental shop due to weather - and worker was still standing there talking. He was getting ready to help us when another employee walked up and told him he couldn't that we were past the time for rentals. His statement was why would you want to pay $38 for 45 to hour of skiing? Followed by you don't even have snow pants...when we advised we didn't care about money and ski clothes were in car we had a long drive he told us to come back tomorrow. read more

We came up for a few day trip befor Christmas. We had a great trip and Marquette Mt has super friendly staff that were all very accomodating. For the cost to snow ride here it is the best value around!!! They had awesome weekday lift ticket specials. The lodge food and drink prices were pretty reasonable and the quality is good too. I had my snowboard waxed at their shop and I saw them do the work. They did not know I was watching. They took their time and did a good thorough job and it only cost $15. This is not a fancy resort, but it is very clean and a terrific value. All of the staff i interacted with were great and the whole trip had an honest family business feel. The mountain is one of the tallest in the midwest. I drive 300 miles to get here and I prefer it over all of the resorts half the distance. It is only 10 minutes from the city of Marquette where there are some nice hotels and restaurants. I can't wait until the next time we come back. read more

Great place for the area. Friendly atmosphere in hte bar and on the hill. Could use some updating, and some things could be done better, but when is that not the case for a midwest ski hill? I'm a season pass holder of over ten years, and plan to continue for many years to come. read more
