We tried to have a small get together for my daughter's 12th birthday. They kicked us out because it was a "party" wouldn't recommend.

Nice establishment with clean rooms. Caters to truck driver training students so it's run like a college dorm. But it works.

The Landmark - Some of our wonderful, dedicated staff, waiting to make your day special

The Landmark

Mini breakdown of my experience at The Landmark:…read more -Overall cleanliness/facility setup: I would deem this place a wedding factory. There were three weddings/receptions going on at once during my friend's festivities - one of which was in the area that was supposed to be reserved for post-wedding photos opps for our crew leaving us dilly dallying in the parking lot for a half an hour before heading in. The facility itself was clean and basic in a convention center kind of way. However, it appeared that the outdoor space might have more character. Because there was so much going on within the space you could step to the door of one reception and hear the music of the other reception down the hall (perfect wedding crashing opportunity?). -Food: not too shabby! I'd highly recommend adding the green beans and carrots sides to your menu - I may or may not have went back for seconds. -This seems to be the perfect spot for those wanting to hit the whole shebang - bar, food, venue in one swipe. Leaves a bit to be desired in the realm of making things feel personal.

Our Coordinater Leah and her assistant Lesli were wonderful to work with. They paid close attention to all of the details and helped to create a day that dreams are made of. The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory was a place I didn't get to spend a lot of time while in the downtown area, but I did enjoy the time I got to spend there. The conservatory has three indoor gardens and 1,000 varieties of plans (and 2,000+ plants). You can see cacti, palms, a chocolate tree and more. The conservatory was started by News-Sentinel publisher Helene Foellinger and Bill Sowers, a Fort Wayne attorney. The two often visited gardens and wanted Fort Wayne to have a similar experience. The conservatory opened in 1983 and houses 24,500 square feet of indoor gardens, four outdoor gardens, and is owned/operated by the Fort Wayne Parks and Rec department with charitable support. Fun fact 1: A beefsteak begonia was the first plant installed. Fun fact 2: In February 2024, the Conservatory had its three millionth visitor. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for youth (3-17), and free for ages 2 and under. There's a $1 Thursdays deal from 5-8pm and there's no admission fee for the cafe, conservatory shop, or sales garden. There's venue rental available and quite a few classes to take. I generally found things accessible - maybe a bit iffy in a couple spots, but I could generally function just fine. I will say I didn't quite explore everything as I was on a schedule, but for what I experienced I really enjoyed it and could get where I wanted to get.

It was super court and very well done. There are even lights in the gardens outside. We've been there many times before during the day so it was different to see it at night. We sat up in the top level of the tropical area enjoying the sounds of the waterfall and lights. It was beautiful. Downtown in December is magical. $1 night is a cost effective way for the whole family to enjoy the gardens. Thank you parks and rec!

The staff was responsive to calls and emails when we needed information, making decisions and ironing out the final details. Union 12 facility is not inexpensive. However we feel like they gave us a very good value and the ultimate experience was excellent. I could use a lot of words to describe their facility. I have attached pictures you can review along with their web sites. Overall the facility, grounds and bridal suite were in very good repair and attractively designed. The facility is very welcoming and allows your guests to feel comfortable quickly. The outside seating area is so what small but can easily handle 200+ people. The covering is nice to help protect against the weather. The chairs are comfortable. They gave a couple arches that you can choose from for a back drop. The bridal suite is nice. It's not overly spacious. It could be uncomfortable if you have much more than 7-8 bridesmaids. The lower level has a nice kitchen to make your day long preparation more comfortable. The kitchen isn't stocked with utensils so bring your own. The upstairs is meant for groomsmen to get ready. This area is rather small and somewhat uncomfortable due to the low ceilings and small rooms. The facility grounds are very nice and welcoming. The fire put, pond lawn areas and seating areas are nice. The outdoor lighting is very attractive especially at night. There is a decent amount of parking. The signage on the road is very poor. It is easy to drive right past the facility if you aren't careful. The inside the facility is wide open. The balcony is easy to access as there are two staircases. The balcony is close to the head table area for good viewing. The bar is compact but strategically located. It can get pretty crowded at the bar area as this is where the staircase comes out. On this occasion our buffet line was near the bar as well. The side room has a fair amount of seating. People in the far back corner don't have a very good view of the head table area. The dance floor was in good condition. If you have a lot of tables you will need to take down tables to make enough space to dance. The bar service is very good. They had ample help to move drinks for our 200 people. They provide water and lemonade self serve containers. We purchase the package that provided beer, wine and vodka. This turned out to be sufficient for most all people. The bar staff was very friendly and efficient. Union 12 provided us the a coordinator for the whole day. Olivia did an outstanding job helping us all day long to get everything in the perfect place and the right time. Olivia was outstanding at keeping things clean...even when the dancers got sloppy with their drinks. Well done Olivia!! Overall...our day was outstanding. "Where it All Began…read more. In 1893 Wing and Mahurin began construction on Robert and Clara's Romanesque styled mansion. Same architect as the University of Saint Francis' Bass Mansion and The History Center both in Fort Wayne. Robert served as a 2 time state senator, assistant U.S. Commissioner for Indiana, huge investor in natural gas, (the reason Fort Wayne & even Chicago got natural gas when they did) and was a prominent lawyer. Clara helped form the first classes at the Fort Wayne Art School and was the co-founder of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. The couple was originally from the Muncie area but moved up here for business purposes. They were a very prominent couple during their years here in Fort Wayne. Not only did Clara leave her forever footsteps at the Art Museum, Robert's law firm is still going strong known as the Barrett-McNagny law firm serving the local area still today. They only had one child Bessie but unfortunately due to illness died at 11 months old. After Robert's death in 1901 the home was sold to William K. Noble who ran a lumber company that operated in 3 states. His family of 3 lived there for 22 years and sold the building for $50,000 to The Klaehn Funeral home. In 1935 the west side addition was added due to high demand. At this time funerals were no longer held in the residents home as they were done in the 1800s. Today there are over 14,000 square feet in this absolutely breathtaking mansion. No detail has gone unnoticed. It remained a funeral home for over 93 years. Until they left the building in 2018 and the Sturm's bought the building in 2020 to preserve its beauty. We want to preserve our precious history first and foremost. History is the reason why we are all here today! We are SOOO PASSIONATE about preserving and sharing this place with the world!" My friend Jesse from JMH Fotografy https://www.facebook.com/jmhfotografy?mibextid=2JQ9oc https://instagram.com/jmhfotografy?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== was one of the invitees to do a Spooky Photo Shoot. Every room ( and there are lots of them ) have original wood work, beautiful pocket doors. Chandeliers, staircase is beautiful, stained glass, big open spaces. Since this was a funeral home for nearly 100 years there are bits and pieces of that history still here too. The building had a great vibe inside and out. They are raising money for more renovations so book an event. And call Jesse for photos. I was his assistant for the day. We had such a great time.

My husband and I were fairly set on still getting married on our original day, so with about a week to go, we reached out to Joseph Decuis. And we are SO GLAD that we did -- it was completely different from what we had planned, but we wouldn't have traded it for anything (even our original wedding). We rented their inn for the weekend so that our parents and two siblings could be there. The inn is absolutely beautiful! they have stayed true to the history of the home with their decor and it was gorgeous. Diane took amazing care of us, meeting every need and truly going above and beyond for us. She made us breakfast each morning and everything was delicious. They don't have a TV, so it forced us to be very present with each other and enjoy the outdoors while we were visiting. All of the bedrooms were beautiful and comfortable, the bathrooms were updated and quite large! We loved our tour of the expansive and beautiful grounds, seeing all of their animals, gardens, and the many farm buildings. Then the day of the wedding -- they did more for us than I could have dreamed possible! It felt like they personally wanted to give us a fairytale wedding. I rode to the ceremony in an elegant, white horse-drawn carriage to the spot we had chosen while on our tour -- they had showed us many possibilities along the way. Throughout the day, they took videos and photos so that we would have lots of memories of our day. The owner of the farm drove my husband, our photographer, and I around on a golf cart so that we could take photos in many different places. The food throughout our stay was amazing. The steak and lasagna were both incredible, with their wagyu beef. We also had the pork chops, which were just okay. All of the sides were delicious though -- salad, mashed potatoes, etc. I truly cannot say enough kind things about all of the staff and the property. They took a disaster and turned it into a dream come true -- all with about a week's notice! We can't wait to go back!

Once seated the server came and gave us the specials of the day and disappeared. We didn't see her for at least another 20 minutes, and that is no Exaggeration. Once she reappeared, she took our order and the food came pretty quickly. My client ordered the superfood salad which she said was amazing and it was of size that she couldn't eat it all. I chose the less healthy option, Cajun Chicken sandwich which was very good. Seasoned well and hand cut fries which were cooked to perfection. I give the rating of 3 mainly because of the wait. It was lunch hour and most people don't have hours to spend. Sure, some people may have been stopping in after being on the golf course for a bite, but clearly we were on a business lunch considering we were dressed up with papers and such. I would go back just not when I'm taking a client for lunch.

It's not dry, which I've never had a non-dry scone before. Perfect level of sweetness and very flavorful. Whatever flavor scone is made that day, you need to get it. 5/5 stars. Blueberry Cake - Oh my god, this was the best. The cake was moist but not overly moist. Not too much crumb, but it was still airy. The blueberry filling was perfect, not too sweet and no added fillers. The icing was nice and smooth, and again, not too sweet. Perfect amount of icing to cake ratio. If all their cakes are this good, I'll die happy in my sugar coma. 5/5 stars. Blood Orange Tea - So I don't know much about tea, so bear with me. At first, I didn't really taste much. I let it sit for 5 minutes before pouring a cup. Now after I took a bite of the scone, suddenly I could taste the flavors of the tea. Going back and forth between the scone and tea was exciting, but the tea by itself is just ok. I'm probably just used to sweet drinks, so it's just not my cup of tea. Ha ha, yeah, that was awful, I know. I couldn't resist making a stupid joke. 4/5 stars. Southern Charleston Sweet Tea - Fantastic! Loved the sweetness and the peach flavor. My only gripe is the paper straw. I abhor paper straws. They always make everything taste off. Bring your own straw, but just don't use a paper straw. 5/5 stars. The decor is amazing. Service is spectacular and friendly. Gift shop is cute. I would like a way to buy more slices of cake or scones to go, that would be a good use of the shop. Go here, you won't regret it. They said they are normally packed, and that you'll need a reservation most of the time. We walked in on a Tuesday afternoon at 2pm, and there were maybe 10 other guests, so maybe 1/4 full. I'll be back for more cake and scones. Thanks for such a great place!
