It's a beautiful store. Immaculate. But very, very expensive; so be aware before you go. Look at the website to get an idea of prices. When you get your appointment verification, carefully read what time you are supposed to be there. They suggest you get there 5 minutes early. My appointment was at 3:10 - I got there at 3:15 because I got lost. Because I was late, there wasn't time to sterilize my earrings and get pierced before their 3:30 lunch break. I had to wait until they reopened at 4:00. I had two piercings done in each earlobe. Not the most pleasant experience, because piercing does hurt. I'm glad I don't have anything else I want pierced. read more

I wanted to get a double helix done, but since this is my first time getting a piercing that's on the upper part of the ear, I was very nervous about finding a piercer. I've heard so many horror stories of people getting their cartilage pierced, so I was very particular in where I went. Safe to say, I am so so so glad I came to Stay True. When I come in, everyone is so welcoming. They were very kind and professional throughout the whole process. And there were so many piercing choices omg. I found one that perfectly fit my vision. My piercer was so incredibly knowledgeable of what he was doing that all of my anxiety went away. He also addressed my questions with a lot of care. I'm so incredibly happy my new piercings!! My new favorite place to talk about. read more

I really wanted to love this place based on its reputation, but unfortunately my experience has been disappointing from start to finish. On April 10th, I spent $785.08 on three piercings: my second lobes and a conch. Before the appointment, I showed inspiration photos and explained my vision to the person at the front, including that my long-term goal was a double conch. However, there was clearly a breakdown in communication between the front desk and the piercer. It was not until after the conch had already been pierced that I was told double conches are normally planned and pierced together. Had that been explained beforehand, I would have made a different decision. I was also unhappy with the placement of my second lobe piercings. I was wearing larger diamond studs that day, so the spacing looked fine in the mirror. Once I got home and wore hoops, I realized the second holes were placed much farther away than I wanted. The photos also show an old, partially closed hole near that area, which makes me wonder whether the piercer may have thought I already had a second lobe and placed the new one more like a third. I cannot know that for certain, but because I explained everything and showed my photos to the front desk rather than directly to the piercer, it adds to my concern that the information was never properly communicated. For the amount I paid, I expected a much more thorough consultation, better communication, and more education about placement, jewelry, and aftercare. On June 8th, I returned because I had an MRI and needed my conch jewelry replaced with a retainer. I also told the front desk that I needed my lobe jewelry downsized. Once again, that information was not passed along. After the piercer finished changing the conch jewelry and began packing up, I had to remind him about the lobes. He sighed and said he had not been told. The appointment again felt rushed. I had to ask how the retainer worked, how to put my original jewelry back in, and whether it was threaded or threadless. I was not told what material the retainer was made from, how long it should stay in, whether it was appropriate to leave in a healing piercing, or what warning signs to watch for. Because no instructions were given, I assumed it was fine to leave it in. When I later went to clean the piercing, I realized the skin had grown over the O-ring and it had become embedded in the back of my ear. When I pushed the jewelry slightly, the area began bleeding heavily. My husband had to use a flashlight while I pushed the jewelry forward hard enough for the embedded O-ring to come back through the skin. We then removed the O-ring and took the retainer out completely. I have included photos showing the retainer immediately after it was placed, the skin covering the O-ring, the bleeding, the retainer after removal, and the condition of my ear after I had to force it out. I cannot say whether the retainer was meant to be left in long-term because that was never explained to me. That is exactly the problem. I should not have had to guess how to manage a healing cartilage piercing after paying a professional studio to change the jewelry. After spending nearly $900 between the original piercings, jewelry, downsizing, and the retainer, I expected professional guidance and confidence that my piercings were being handled correctly. Instead, the retainer became embedded, I had no choice but to remove the conch completely, and I now have to let the area heal before it can be repierced. I lost the piercing and the hundreds of dollars I spent on it. After everything that happened, I felt I had no choice but to write this review. read more

I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else for a piercing. Customer service here is top notch. Akash greeted us. He went out of his way and provided customer centered guidance which was invaluable with such a large selection of quality pieces. I felt confident in my choices after selecting jewelry with him. Roy was very skilled with placing my piercings and provided an efficient service with much welcomed friendly banter, assisted by Nick :) Thanks guys, will see you again very soon for more. read more

The vibes, immaculate! Every time I've gone in I've had a good time. I especially love their randomizer for tattoos/ piercings! I recently got a tattoo everyone who walked in seem to enjoy their time! I had just gotten a tattoo from there and my partner and I both got piercings from them in the past and they both went great! read more

My 17-year-old daughter got her bellybutton pierced here in the entire experience was wonderful. They answered all of her questions helped her settle her nerves, into a fantastic job. Wow. From the quality of the jewelry to the level cleanliness to the skills of my body piercer (Joe), I was beyond impressed and had a very good experience at Stay True Body Piercing. You need to make an appointment before coming in, and as soon I walked in for mine, I was greeted by one of the staff members, who also helped me pick out jewelry for my piercing. I didn't get her name, but she was very thorough in showing me my different options at various price points. I did some paperwork (all digital), and then Joe came out and got me. Joe was very kind and explained everything in detail (what to expect, post-piercing care, when I should return for a piercing assessment, etc.). Joe, along with all staff members, wore masks the entire time, and when handling any piece of jewelry, they always wore gloves, so it was very, very sanitary. The room I was pierced in was immaculately clean, had a minimalist aesthetic, and had a sterilization machine, so there was no doubt in my mind about something being clean or not. They only use sterile single-use piercing needles, which is the cleanest and safest way to do it. Overall, I had a great experience, and in addition to returning for my piercing assessment in a few weeks, I'll be returning for future piercings as well. Highly recommend! read more

Was my first experience getting a piercing, and like most people, I was a little nervous. But Joe, Nick, and Akash (sp.?) were awesome! Answered all of my questions - even the seemingly ridiculous ones, though I'm sure that they have heard it before. Getting down to the nitty gritty, Joe is engaging and genuine and that really set me at ease. On the way out, I met Alexis, the Owner, who took a few minutes to chat with me. Start to finish, it was a great experience. Unsure if I will need Stay True's services again, but I'll never say never because I'm sure that piercings can be as addictive as tattoos, and I have plenty of those! Thanks again, Guys! read more

Went here a few months ago . Had my Nose pierced by Joe. Great experience. Will definitely be back for more

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience here. She wanted to get her ear lobes pierced for the first time for her 8th birthday, so I did my research and selected Stay True. It's not the closest or the cheapest studio but they fit my criteria-- APP members, tandem earlobe piercing for kids, and a minimum age policy reflecting the importance of assent from the child being pierced. Joe was phenomenal. He explained and/or demonstrated every step in the process and made sure my daughter was ok to proceed. He was so patient and respectful towards her. Once we were all set up, he brought in Jeane and they got the job done smoothly. For the full mother-daughter experience, I went for a flat piercing right after my daughter. It was over so quickly I hardly even felt it. Just like with my daughter, Joe narrated each step so there were no surprises. We wrapped up with our aftercare instructions, which were thorough but also simple enough for a kid to understand. The studio itself is very clean and uncluttered but also comfortable. The jewelry selection is amazing, really hard to choose from so many beautiful pieces. Again, not cheap, these are not Claire's prices so adjust expectations accordingly. The staff member helping us with jewelry was nice, helpful, and attentive. Stay True is definitely going to be my go to piercing studio from here on out. read more

What a great shop! Went last week to get a philtrum pierced. Joe pierced me and he was lovely - answered questions honestly and was very relaxed and friendly throughout the process. Also, he asked for my consent through the entire process which was so considerate. The shop is clean and organized - they use disposable piercing clamps (super sanitary) and take extra care to sterilize the piercing area. With any piercing or tattoo, you get what you pay for - this is worth the money for sure. The jewelry is high quality and there's a huge selection. Online booking is a huge plus! read more

Let me tell you a story about the best piercing shop in Connecticut. (it's this one). Made an appt for a navel piercing here. As soon as I walked in, I felt welcome and the decorations were sick. Akash, Jackson, and Nick were so welcoming and are such quality people. Roy was kind and personable and the piercing was such a smooth process! I felt so comfortable here. Also I love the piercing. It was the easiest piercing I've ever gotten which was 99.9% due to Roy and to the atmosphere of the place. Will absolutely be coming back read more

Stay True is the best piercing shop I have ever been to! Hands down. I came in with a laundry list of needs (diath piercing, change out two helix piercings & change out a rook). They were so kind & professional from start to finish. The woman who assisted me at the counter was so patient in letting me choose the jewelry and gave great advice. Joe is the one who pierced me and he was such a kind and happy soul!! I cant say enough great things about him, he had 11/10 service. He made the session so easy and ensured I was comfortable the whole time. This shop is amazing and I cant wait to use them again. Sterile, clean, professional. Perfect experience. read more

Since I moved, I've been searching for a new piercing place in CT. I found one and got my nipples pierced. They were crooked so I took them out after a few months. Did some more research and found Stay True. It looked promising since it reminded me of JuL Head where I used to go in So Cal. Well my insitincts were right. Jeane, who did my nipple piercings last night was amazing. She made sure they were straight, and and even from the very first marking, she removed it and corrected. That moment is when I knew I finally found a new home for piercings. She definitely has an eye for detail(s), and I'm super hapy my piercings came out straight this time. Defnitely coming back to re-pierce a couple of more things :) Love this place. Price is definitely worth it. I've read some reviews saying it's not cheap. Well, Jewelry ain't cheap. Go to claire's then and get an infection lmao. You're not supposed to get pierced with a "gun" anyway. Whatever, you get what you pay for. This place... super professional, and the staff is super cool and chill. They don't pressure you or anything. Highly highly reccomend this place to everyone. Oh, and free stickers lol! read more

If you are looking for cheap piercing with simple jewelry, this may not be the place for you. It is not Claire's. The shop is more upscale, pricey jewelry with limited (if any?) cheaper options. Small studs can cost you for the jewelry itself, then add the cost of piercing. Do your research before you place a deposit. The service prices are listed on their site. Its the jewelry cost you don't find out till you go and pick it out. I referred a friend who railed at me about cost of service and jewelry. Again, do your research. The staff is professional and the shop is quite clean/sanitary. Very easy to schedule appointments via their site and make your deposit. I used to go to a different place in West Hartford and stopped because their online system did not work, they never answered their phone and did not take walk in. read more

I went to this piercing place to get my daughter a navel piercing after wanting one for a while. As I walked in I was greeted by a really nice man who told us to wait for the piercer to "asses my daughter's anatomy". The piercer then comes over and tells her to "show him her belly button", that she did. He then touches it and after about .5 seconds of his hand being on her belly button he says; "it's too small, sorry". I don't know if he was really looking at it or just didn't feel like doing it but I left because I knew deep down that it wasn't. 30 minutes later we got a consultation at another place and they said she had the "perfect anatomy" and pierced her perfectly. If you have a child and you want to bring them here, don't waste your time. read more

Professional friendly staff and a hygienic and upscale environment. Be financially prepared though! Jewelry prices start at around $75 per piece because they only sell titanium or 18k/24k white/yellow/rose gold piercing jewelry and I promise you'll want to buy one of everything!! I have been there on two separate occasions and the price breaks down to this: I got two lobe piercings and after the appointment deposit, piercing cost and titanium jewelry, the total came out to about $200. I got a nostril piercing and including the booking price the total came out to about $140-$150. All in all, they are amazing and I highly recommend going to them! If you aren't certain what you want for piercings, if you can get the piercing or if you'd like to get an idea of cost, you can book a consult for free and possibly get a price total (so you can save up to buy the entire inventory!) read more

The staff was exceptional. Knowledgeable, cleanly, friendly. Jeane walked me through the piercing process and I felt in very capable, kind hands. The space was beautifully decorated and felt clean. I would highly recommend this place and will be back for more piercings and body jewlery purchases. read more

I got a double nose piercing on July 28, 2021... It was a great experience, I paid $60 for each tri ball in white gold, plus all the posts and service charges it came to $310 including tip. I just went back today which is August 5, 2021 because I lost the top tri ball piece and needed a replacement, The woman tells me it's $85 it came to $106 in total... that is absolutely ridiculous! I told her it was $60 when I got it the first time and she had the audacity to say it was inflation! INFLATION?!? It's been 8 days lady... Stay true to what your pockets? Edit: three 1 reviews on my profile over the course of 2 years??? yours is one of them for a reason. I called before hand as it's a 45 minute drive for me and over the phone I was told the jewelry I was looking for wasn't popular and wouldn't sell out before I came in, it's not like you bought a new batch at a more expensive price within the week. Make it make sense. Instead of being passive aggressive to your clientele maybe be more accommodating! read more

I would highly recommend Stay True for piercing! I drove from the shoreline due to positive reviews and I'm glad I did. I got my daith piercing done by Joe and the experience was wonderful. The jewelry selection here is beautiful and high quality. Joe helped me pick out a style and size of hoop that would work well on my tiny ear. He explained everything and was very respectful, asking for consent at each step of the way. He was very gentle, laid back but confident. I knew I was in good hands and he put me at ease. I was expecting the piercing to hurt more, but between Joe guiding me to breathe and his expert skills, it wasn't that painful at all. I'm super happy with my results, I'll be back! read more

This was my second time at Stay True, and again they were awesome. Everyone is incredibly friendly and the selection of jewelry is insane. Spotlessly clean, professional, and great service. I have had three separate piercing services done through Stay True. Each time , the facility was so spotlessly clean I would feel comfortable eating off the floor. The staff are incredibly professional and communicate with you through each movement in the piercing process. I felt very respected and considered through each stage. My opinion on comfort and aesthetic was respected and my piercer always checked with me on what they needed to do to achieve what I wanted for all three piercings (each a separate appointment instance, not all three sequentially). The staff was also excellent at engaging me and making me feel comfortable about the piercing process, alleviating a lot of possible anxiety. read more

Very clean would highly recommend this friendly shop. read more

Per usual, Yelp led me here. The reviews were all amazing and reassuring. My daughter needed to redo her "daith" piercing from having her original one being removed 6 months prior. The first questions were, can she have it redone in the same ear without complications, then what jewelry options do you have? Alexis looked at her ear and said, Yes, we can do it in the same ear without incident. My daughter was pleased, as she loved having it in her left ear. Now let's talk about jewelry options. So many to chose from that it made it hard to decide. Not once did we feel rushed or swayed in any direction. The prices are on point! As a mother, my first thought was cleanliness. You could eat off the floor here. The place was so clean and modern that I immediately felt like it was the right choice! Humor, connectability (if that's a word) and down right kindness flowed from Alexis and Joe. Super cool, super sweet and really knew how to make my daughter relaxed and calm for her piercing and for me, the mom, to feel like I made a solid decision in bringing her here. Thanks guys for a great experience! read more

I loved this place! I felt very comfortable here; the room I got pierced in was extremely sanitary and the staff was great. I also felt that the jewelry was reasonably priced for the high quality. Joe was my piercer and he was super nice and respectful. He explained everything before he did it and gave me simple aftercare instructions. I came in to get my rook pierced but he took a look at my ear and told me that he didn't feel that he could safely place that piercing with my anatomy, but he immediately suggested an alternative piercing that would give me a similar look. I actually like the piercing I ended up with more than the one I was initially hoping for! Overall a great experience here, I'll definitely be back for any future piercings. read more

I have gotten many piercings before and spent no more than $60. I was not aware that this store only has solid gold jewelry and nothing more affordable such as sterling silver or surgical grade steel. I paid $42 ahead of time since their policy requires a "pre-payment deposit" that pays for the piercing. Then, I had to pay $95 for a solid gold extremely tiny nose stud... I will say, the piercer was awesome and super professional. However, if you're looking for a piercing that doesn't require a non-refundable prepayment of $40 + $95 jewelry, than I would suggest going somewhere else! read more

ALEXIS IS THE BEST PIERCER I have gone here for over 4 piercings. They come out perfect each time. They sterilize the jewelry right in front of you, walk you through every step, and make sure you and your well being come first. They follow the COVID guidelines perfectly. Hand sanitizer before you enter, wipe off the door after each entry, and of course proper mask wearing. The prices are higher up there, but it's good quality and real silver/gold. (My helix piercing came to $240 for a simple, small purple and silver rhinestone.) They don't discuss prices of jewelry over the phone for whatever reason. read more

Jeane Bean is absolute nugget of a gem, in the vast world of every one thinks they can pierce. (What you can take from that statement is don't go anywhere but here, if you want professional people who truly care about the art and science of piercing and you). I did a nose piercing elsewhere that went south, so Jeane was kind enough to take me in and review what happened and help me out. I cannot thank her and the staff here enough, from the lovely woman who helped me pick out a new nose stud, to the owner explaining the healing time and the process that we would have to do to fix the original piercing. Jeane was also super great about listening to my concerns and when I explained to her what I was advised, she was very kind and explained to me the proper new process to take care of my piercing, and then set realistic expectations on how long healing could take and the next steps.
