The piercer at flying tiger is the most condescending, rude and unprofessional person I have ever met. Not only did he undermine my ability to decide whether or not a shop I go to has a quality piercer or not but he ruined my newest piercing. When I got my first ever mouth piercing I got worried I was ruining my teeth. So, I went to FT to get it checked. Piercer: Where did you get it done? Me: In Canda. P: Why don't you just go back there? Me: ... its in Canada? P: Do you see my point? (WTF does that mean but ok, I have him check the piercing, he barely looks at me) P: Yep, its ruining your teeth. That's why you don't get pierced on vacation Me: (actually that's the best shop in Ontario, but sure dude, just because you didn't personally do it, its garbage) Okay, can you take it out? P: Yeah, for $10. Me: Um, I didn't bring any money- P: Oh so I'm the bad guy because I won't fix a piercing someone else did Me: uh P: Fine, I'll fix it. Me: hey, I told my cousin about this shop and she has no piercings or tattoos, do you still do free piercing day? P: See what I mean? You come here asking me to fix something I didn't do and then ask about free piercings. Thats why I don't do it anymore. (that's your fault, bro, besides you always forced people to pay you a tip that was at least half the price of the piercing. it was never free.) I get it out, I leave. I will never go back. I visited my dentist THE VERY NEXT DAY. I tell her that I took out my frenulum (smiley) piercing because I was told it was causing lines in my teeth. Low and behold, they weren't. It was grazing lines. He looked me in the eye, told me I had a f****d up piercing and was ruining my teeth when in reality he was just upset I dared to go get pierced by someone else. Oh and the owner? Yep, just as much of an a**hole. When I informed him that this behavior displayed by the piercer was not out of the ordinary and had in fact happened all 3 times I went to the shop he responded with: Owner: What do you want me to do, fire him? Honestly, yeah dude I do. But lets be honest here, you hired him for a reason sooo that's not gonna happen. When I told him I informed all the potential clients I was recommending to go to his shop to no longer spend their money their he started whining: O: Oh, I was really hoping you wouldn't tank the reputation of the shop because of the action of one person... Sorry, bro, but he represents your brand. The owner gave me half a**ed apologies, something to the degree of 'sorry you felt that way.' I have gone to flying tiger for 4 of my tattoos and 2 piercings and I am more than happy with all of them! One in which is my current piece..it is an undead ariel from the little mermaid it is turning out to be better than I hoped, I'm in love with it!!!! My artist is JEFF!!!!! His work is sick! Line work is perfect! And DIDNT DO ANY TATTOOING WITHOUT MY OK FIRST! Whether the picture was right, or the the size, the way it would look once the stencil was on..come on people that is ur responsibility to make sure everything is right (especially if its ur favorite band u should know what it should look like) just saying! Sometimes it can be pricey but u get what u pay for! I'd rather pay the extra money and my shit look right rather than ugly line work and not look like what u actually wanted to begin with! This place is great there friendly and extremely clean. I would recommend this place to everyone! And I say again JEFF is the shhiieeetttt!!! Lol great line work dope artist!! read more

Two years ago, I had a walk-in appointment with Jae. I told him vaguely what I wanted and showed a picture showing "something like this". He looked at my elbow briefly and in the shortest amount of time, he drew exactly what I wanted, sized perfectly. The setting was highly professional and clean, yet completely comfortable. It was the perfect middle-ground of conversation. He didn't annoyingly babble small talk the entire time, but we definitely didn't sit in silence, and he consistently checked how I was feeling. Time went by really quickly (and painlessly)! Jae is not only an awesome artist, but an awesome person as well. As for the finished product: Every time I wear a shirt without sleeves, multiple people gush compliments about how beautiful my rose is and ask where I got it done. It is definitely one of my favorite tattoos, and I wouldn't consider going to anyone else after the experience I had. :) read more

Yo check it: my gurl hit up this joint for a teenie weenie tattoo she wanted to put in her special place and she had the worst tattoo idea EVER. So she brought it into this Flying tiger joint and this artist named Marcus made that junk into a work of art! It was like he was Michaelangelo or some sheeet. Genius WTF. It was a miracle. I think if I saw that little tattoo on her every time we got down, i would not want to get down no mo. But that guy did her right and it was not even expensive! I go back and forth lately talking to the tiger trying to get a good tattoo for me. I'm gonna get a hotdog on my full back going up my neck so his head peeks out of my t-shirt coller. It will be Mr. Halfsmoke typing on a laptop! Quit frontin. I do wut I want! Wut Wut! !! read more

Flying Tiger Tattoo is one of the best shops in CT hands down. I've gotten tattooed by Derik Snell and his work is solid -- great color, clean lines, and was very patient and considerate. I've also gotten pierced by Jay who did a great job! The artists here will work with your budget and make the tattoo bigger/smaller or give it more/less detail based on what you can afford, but never sacrifice quality. The shop is run by a great group of guys and from my experience, their goal is to make sure you leave with amazing work you will be proud of for years to come. Definitely the best shop in the area! read more

Well, Iv'e been getting tats from there for about 5 years now, and I can say they are definately the best around. There is an overlooked difference between good tattoos and bad, when people pick value over quality. And honestly, I don't know why you would do that because for the great work they do there, their prices are MORE than fair. The staff is friendly, the area is clean (and recently renovated) it's definately the best place to get tattooed, whether it's your first or 15th!. Kudos to flying tiger tattoo. read more

Don't come here unless you want average piercings from a rude shop full of condescending, uncaring 'professionals.' Yeah, maybe their traditional tattoos can hold their color but they're nothing special and they make sure to let you know you aren't either. But have no fear!
