I visited here for dinner, it's recently opened up in Shirley and my brother had been and told me…read morethey had lots of vegetarian options so i thought i ought to check it out. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and went that little bit extra in their customer service. The decor was really interesting there was a sort of fusion between modern restaurant and old fashioned cafe. We were seated in the 'book corner' and it felt like i was on the set of Harry Potter or something, it was realluy nice and cosy. Me and a friend shared the veggie breakfast, as we were told the breakfast's are the biggest plates they do....yes breakfast at 8pm, when is not a good time to have a good ol fry up? It was alot of food for one person, so i'm glad we shared, they also kindly put all of the items with egg in it on a separate plate so as to not contaminate the rest of it, as i dont eat egg. The vegan ginger and dark chocolate tart was lovely but very rich! I'm glad I ordered a scoop of ice cream to go with it. I quite like dark chocolate as it's not too sweet but friend found it to be very bitter. All in all I would recommend it, and will be visiting again!

I love the lounge chain. The food is always served quickly, venues quirky and the menu options hit…read morethe spot with late brunches for those days when you surface after a late night & need bacon! We visits Desco on a sunny Sunday lunch and needed food. The service was pretty poor at the bar, not sure if it was a training issue but it took a good 15 mins to get served and seated with drinks. Surprisingly our food arrived in 5 mins as it took so long to place the order. It sounded like people were waiting on coffees too so perhaps a few more staff needed for a Sunday lunch? The ciabatta I had was crispy so worked perfectly against the Cajun mayo and avocado, slice of Monteray cheese and buttermilk fried chicken (no one tell the carb police) and a side of sweet potato fries ( charged extra but still cheaper than ordering as a separate side) and coleslaw. I had that with a refreshing st clement - orange juice, fever tree bitter lemon and bitters. I enjoyed the vibe and would return but let's hope the service, toilet paper availability and tidiness of tables improves by then!

Jo at Lambs Lunches, made me nine 10" celebrations cakes - Sponge and Jam for one event!!…read more Each cake was made to my very intrinsic detailed requests. They were all ready as requested for the night before my family event and boxed ready for transition. The different designs were as listed below - all were 10" Square or Round 1 Farmer with sheep, stone wall & Sheep dog Accordion and male figure (Musical Instrument) Jungle Book Elvis Female Golfer and figure Female Netball Player & netball stand Female Figure Skater 1st Wedding Anniversary Couple Dancing Not only were the cakes fantastic in design but the sponge was light and very tasty. Well done to Jo Lamb, I would definitely recommend if you need a celebration cake made, Jo is the person to help. The cost very reasonable and excellent value for money. This place looks so lovely on the outside and when you go inside it feels cosy and welcoming. I…read moreliked the tables and chairs they have chosen. The theme sort of made it feel like a farmhouse café. The menu consists of sandwiches, baps, baguettes, paninis, jacket potatoes and cakes and pastries. The smell inside was a little off-putting as it was the sort you'd get in a greasy spoon which isn't what I had this place down for being. The young man behind the till meant well but was a little dopey. I bought a raspberry and white chocolate muffin to takeaway which they order in from a different company. It was really tasty, like a muffin should be, but the same goes with all muffins, once you've eaten the top, the rest is a disappointment.
