Breakfast Review: I…read moredo like an Indi deli. In fact I love an Indi deli. So much so that this morning, I cycled in heavy rain and a blustery wind, 17.5 miles to try out their breakfast. I was recommended this place by some of the fine people on Twitter. Their enthusiasm for the place meant I had to give it a go. It's a small shop in a group of shops on a residential road in suburban Bournville. There's no uniforms, just people that obviously care about their products and produce. That definitely included their breakfasts. Perfectly cooked bacon, (2 slices, not one as advertised), 2 sausages, a spot on golden yolked egg, a choice of plum or fresh tomatoes, great black pudding, (an extra), baked beans, (served in a separate dish), a good portion of fresh mushrooms and hand cut, crusty bread - as far as I'm concerned, a MUST for a quality breakfast - which this absolutely was. Coffee was good quality too, not too rich, just how I like it. In summary: 9/10 one of the best ones I've had. Excellent.

Some reasons for it: This very modern restaurant tucked away of the Bristol Road buzzing is what we would classify of a fine bistro. I am a salmon lover so it's always delightful when you find some creative meals with salmon than are not just about sushi! Well, Bohemia Cafe Bistro has a delicious smoked salmon from heaven, indeed! This is the kind of restaurant that you have to go for the pudding! The presentation is so perfect that it's impossible to resist it. So, take a note: Bohemia Pudding Club is a dessert to dream about it. Right portion, chocolate of gods. Despite its unassuming exterior and poor location, the little bistro is cosy, quiet and boasts a varied menu that can always accomodate; encompassing full dining experiences right the way down to a quick afternoon coffee. The veggie options are similarly varied, and I most recently enjoyed Bohemia's take on the ploughman's lunch: The ranges of cheeses and chutneys were tasty and interesting without being too strong or try-hard, the bread was fresh and particularly nice and my accompanying berry smoothie was refreshing to say the least. The staff are warm and welcoming and they serve a variety of cakes and pastries. The tea isn't fabulous, but I am rather fussy about tea. However, the cappuccinos are fantastically frothy. I feel like it is a cafe where you can go and read a book for ages and they won't mind; it's quite relaxed and there are always others in there too. I like this cafe very much, it is lovely and I can't help but go back, it's a good place to sit and think and drink coffee. It is a great meeting place, as the title suggests.

Drink weren't especially cheap, and a teapot of rooibos tea cost me £2 (I managed to salvage one and a half cups out if it.) I have also purchased a chocolate brownie from here in the past, which was very delicious, but again, a little pricey. The cafe experience was lovely and relaxed, and the premises was absolutely spotlessly clean. I also love anywhere that sells halloumi. They also have a range of fresh baked cakes that changes daily. There is loads of seating and I've never seen it get too busy. Fast, friendly service, inexpensive and very clean. A good spot for the morning after.
