Bakery did not ask how to spell my daughters name and Im pretty sure Emma is the most common English name there is. I have been in Menifee 7 years and have never had a good experience at this store. This store is closest to my house so I go here most often. The aisles are narrow since it's an older store so it's often annoying to have to navigate around people. My one complaint for today was the floors were being washed with the big rolling machine at 11:30 on a Sunday so we had to move out of the way for that down a few aisles. Stater Bros consistently wins the award for best grocer retailer in SoCal, year after year. And you can see why, their meat/butcher/fish monger offer outstanding cuts of fresh meats and fish. We purchased a flank steak a few days ago, which I just grilled and it tasted delicious. Another outstanding area is their Deli. Their cold cuts and salads are on a par with Boars Head and that's something I thought I would never say. Their Cleo & Leo selection of Roast Beef and Pub Ham are delicious. Because Stater Brothers is above average, their prices are also a bit full, when you compare them to other grocers in the area. I went to Stater's today to look for some specific sauces for the poke bowls I'm making for dinner tonight. I have some vision issues so it sometimes takes me awhile to locate something specific. An employee by the name of Matt saw me searching and came up to me and asked if he could help me find something. I told him what I was looking for and he immediately found it for me in the International aisle. There was also another sauce that he said they don't carry on the shelves but suggested I go to the sushi making station and see if they would sell me a tub of it. I did and they packaged the sauce I was looking for, saving me another trip somewhere else. Exemplary service!! He's just the sweetest guy. He's always a friendly face when walking into the store. I went into this Menifee location right after they opened on a Friday morning and went straight to the meat department. I had recently purchased a dehydrator and wanted to make some homemade beef jerky. I had researched the best jerky cuts like top round, eye of round, and London Broil but was still unsure of the best choice. A butcher came out from behind the counter with some packaged meats to display and you could tell that he was very busy and already working hard even though the place had just opened. I got his attention and he immediately stopped what he was doing and got very engaged in helping me, showing me the different cuts, and what would be best for my homemade jerky. Then, he went to the back and returned with a huge quarter portion of fresh beef, and sliced off the exact amount I needed in the perfect thickness for my jerky. This employee was so kind and helpful. An Outstanding individual and employee! I later bumped into the Manager and told him about my positive experience. Wow, I came here because the customer service and lines at the Perris/ Nuevo Rd location are always horrible and long, and customer service here is not that much better. Cashier was very inhospitable, didn't ask if I found everything fine, bagged the raw meat with vegetables and seemed upset when I asked for the meat to be in its own bag, then literally threw the remaining bags of my groceries into the cart. She then went back to her register, handed my my receipt and that was it. No "have a nice day", nothing! So I told her "hope you have a good weekend", and no reaction or acknowledgment from her. I really ONLY go to Staters because they are really the only place who carries the coffee creamer we use. Being a previous Vons employee, I know first hand this is not the way grocers should behave. Basic customer service skills and courtesy should be number one. COVID and lack of those willing to work should not being down your work ethics and integrity of what was once an enjoyable locally owned and operated grocery store. read more

Ive been living in the area for almost 4 years and I still hate shopping at this store! The only reason I shop here is because it's the only one in this area. I don't like the vibe in this store at all, a lot of the older lady morning cashiers are somewhat rude and some don't even greet you unless they know you, like for instance today I was behind a lady who was chatting it up with the cashier and even though she was done paying and had her items in basket she continued to talk to the cashier as I stood there waiting patiently for a good 30 seconds for her to be done and scan my items but she didn't greet me or simply apologize for being rude, she right away greets the person behind me because she knew him by name and tells him good morning. I know I look very young for my age but I'm a 37 year old woman who deserves the same respect as any other adult. I found that to be very rude! I will say there are ONLY 2 cashier's I like and will wait in the long line even if I only have a couple items. They have the most awesome customer service I've ever experienced in this store. This review is for "Liyanna". I go to this SB all the time and for the most part have always had a great experience. Today, Liyanna was my cashier and I'm not sure if maybe she had a bad day but the experience was awful. She was rude and judgmental. She threw my items and didn't care, gave me attitude when I asked a small question about the items and couldn't even hand me my receipt at the end. She kept rolling her eyes and it felt as if she probably didn't want to be there today. The experience was horrible, I felt belittled the whole time. Aside from Liyanna, there's another lady who usually works cashier, she's older, white with white hair. I always try to avoid her after she gave a customer a hard time for not having enough money in his EBT card to pay for groceries. I hope SB puts better people at the cashier. read more

i just wanted to right a review on this starter bro this is the best one in town by far my teenage child and i shop here especially for the produce department. I always go to this stater bros and i always have good vibes here....well thats in the morning were everybody is welcoming and helpful...but yesterday i came here with my wife and kids because they were craving for fried chicken...my beef is when we ordered my wife asked the lady who was helping us if they fry their chicken in peanut oil because our son has a bad allergic reaction to peanut oil so ee ask everyone wherever we go...so when my wife asked this lady she looked so irritated like we wasting her time...she gave us a dirty look and was like you know what ask the managers i dont know...im thinking to myself shit you back there cooking you gotta know...even my daughter knew she was irritated even the customer next to us even gave her a dirty look like damn!!! I sometimes come and shop here, because they have a credit union ATM inside their store and that's very convenient for me. The store is like your typical Stater Bros in the area. The store is kept clean and organized. The produce section is always great and stocked. The meat department always has enough people working it and the meats look great.
