Do not get distracted by people who look like they work for the terminal authority they are just trying to lock you in on a paid tour to Statue of Liberty. So just stay focus, and get in line for the free ride to Staten Island. Also don't panic these ferry boats are insanely big so you will find a spot to get the views you want. If you leave from NYC stick to the right side and go upstairs for the best photos. Once you've made it to Staten Island without any wait, you get off and roll back into another boat (SI To Manhattan) and do it all over again. If you still want to see the Liberty statue leaving from Staten Island, stick to the left. From Manhattan to SI stick to the right and try to get on the second floor. If you want to explore what's around the area a short walk will take you to Wall Street, you'll see the bull and Trinity Church (where Hamilton and Eliza and Philip are buried). Also with going inside the church even with their very strict security check -- we had to even take Apple Watches which was a first but I'm all about safety so whatever they ask, I'll gladly do it. So if near Wall Street make Trinity Church a stop just like that silly snatching bull! ;)

I've taken this trip many times other than on marathon day. Its one of the few free things you can do in the city whether commuting for work or just for enjoyment. Ferries run constantly throughout the day. Overall, its a well maintained and clean modern facility. It has clean bathrooms and concessions for food and drinks such as Wendy's, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Auntie Anne's, Pizza, and a bar. Also a market for snacks and souvenirs.

Fall foliage, boats, beer, cider, Bavarian food, and four hours on the water? Honestly, what more…read moredo you need? We did the fall foliage tour with an Oktoberfest theme and had such a fun time. It was a four-hour delightful ride with plenty of food, drinks, sightseeing, and fresh air. Our guide, Andy, was fantastic. He had SO many facts about the city and everything we were seeing--and he was hilarious. Honestly, I think Andy could probably carry an entire conversation by himself if you stopped responding. He just keeps going! But in the best possible way. The themed drinks were a lot of fun. I had an apple cider mimosa, which felt very appropriate for a fall boat ride. They also had a special Oktoberfest mug for $45 that came with FREE REFILLS. My friends took advantage of that for the beer and cider, because apparently they understood the assignment. Food-wise, we shared a HUGE Bavarian pretzel and an apple cider donut. There were also larger food plates available for $16.50 if you wanted to make a whole meal of it. When we went, the leaves were just starting to change, so I can only imagine how gorgeous this ride will be once the colors really come in. I'm guessing mid-November could be spectacular. And PLEASE get upstairs. Take in the fresh air, let the sun hit your face, and actually enjoy those views. It makes the whole experience. Dress warmly, though! I was in a sweater, leggings, and boots and was definitely feeling the chill. And now for the public service announcement nobody asked for but everyone needs: THE BATHROOMS AREN'T SCARY. They actually have multiple stalls. They automatically flush. You will survive. Happy boating, sightseeing, drinking, eating, and aggressively looking at leaves! Would absolutely do this again.

Super quick, easy, and the views are amazing. The North waterfront has gorgeous condos and a killer skyline backdrop, so the ride feels like a mini adventure. Prices are way better than rideshare: $4.50 for a single ride, $29 for a 10-ride pack, or $15 for a 2-day pass. The taxi runs about every 15 minutes and connects North & South Williamsburg, Dumbo (Brooklyn Bridge), and Wall Street. It's not just for visitors--lots of residents use it as a convenient way to commute to and from work. Perfect if you want something affordable, scenic, and stress-free. Quick tip: Try riding around sunset for incredible views of the skyline, and grab a coffee before boarding to make it even better! Highly recommend giving it a try--you'll save money and get a view that Uber just can't offer!

There is plenty of seating to catch up on reading, work or just sitting still. The East River ferry stops here to transport you to Manhattan. The waterfront is close to Bedford Avenue, the Main Street for shopping, dining and drinking. If you are in the mood for further wandering, Domino Park is very close by. All in all a great "getaway" in Brooklyn.
