The teachers in her local school even asked me what was different in her routine. I highly recommend this dance studio. My biggest complain about this school is parking is a real pain in the rear.

She progresses each year with each class she takes, leveling up her skill sets and increasing her poise and confidence both on stage (in the recital performances each year) and off. She currently takes 4 different classes each week and looks forward to seeing the friends she continues to make here. In addition to Intro to Dance, my daughter has taken Tumbling, Tap and Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet and now Contemporary. My son recently started taking Tumbling and I love that he is able to focus his abundant energy while learning how to take instruction and act within a structured environment. I love that the owners focus on bringing in dance teachers who are not only knowledgeable but also great teachers and great with kids. Plus, the prices are reasonable and accommodating for families taking multiple classes. Nana and Fred have been great: they have been a part of the local neighborhoods for decades as teachers and owners of this dance school, have an extensive record not only as dancers on Broadway but also as teachers (totally different skill sets) and I appreciate their philosophy of hiring good *teachers,* not just good/reputable dancers. It is amazing to see former students return to enroll their own children, and to hear stories of their past comaraderies and experiences. As a parent, I myself look forward to the welcoming community of neighborhood parents that I've found here, which is not always easy to find amidst everyone's established lives and busy schedules. Bottom line: Albee Dance is a dance school with heart, great teachers, and a warm community.

During time of payment, the receptionist makes no mention of registration nor refund policy. all the receptionist mentions is that everything is included in this $388 fee. then a month later after paying $388 the owner informs us that we need to pay an additional $130 more for registration and activity fees/new student fee. this $130 fee was not disclosed to me nor his refund policy. This place is a total scram. To this day I still have not receive my initial payment. going to sue this business for false advertising and failure to disclose refund policy and registration/activity fee.

The ballet productions at the recitals every June, are beautiful and well produced by all ages. They have amazing, award winning competition team. The team has received the ADCC Studio of Excellence in both 2018 and 2021. Not only are the students taught amazing routines, but they are also taught to respect all other studios. I enrolled my 11-year-old son, who is Autistic, in a class at this studio…read more * He attended two classes, where he was quiet and sweetly participated to the best of his ability. * I offered discreet help from the side, right by a wall so I was barely seen. A week after his second class, just a couple of hours before we were going for his third class, the owner called to say that my son's presence "is not fair to the students and teacher" and that he "can't keep up". My son was not disruptive. * He is a very sweet and pleasant boy and his presence did not bother or take away anything from anyone. * He just needed a bit more support to be able to make the dance moves. * He didn't take away extra time from the teacher. * I helped him without bothering anyone, and practiced at home so his moves improved - and the teacher acknowledged that and told him he did well and that "it was great to have you here". * It was shocking to get that call from the owner a week after that, just 3 hours before the third class. This is not Juilliard, it's a local dance studio for local kids to dance and enjoy this art form. Instead of promoting inclusion and belonging, Marylou's asked us not to come back. I feel this was unfair and discriminatory. With just a little support and kindness, my son could have been part of the group, and his peers could have gained the valuable experience of learning to collaborate with someone who is different but not less; and to begin to appreciate the richness of diversity.

Was recommended by my sister in law after a previous horrific experience…read moreat another school for my daughter nearby my house (even though this is the same distance from last school and not realizing it) She is currently taking beginning ballet 2 and it was the best experience I could ever ask for. Everyone is so nice and professional that it was an amazing departure from the last school that I took my daughter to! Showed up 1st day of class on time and they were ready to go. It's because all the information were given to us during registration without any guessing game like I had in the last dance school. My daughter learned so much about ballet with techniques that she knew what most of the terms are and showed me the moves that goes with it. The year before in another school was just prancing around with no particular techniques being shown (which I can do at home with music on). Mind you, she was still having fun at this school. Also, school was very flexible and nice about make up. My daughter's elementary school suddenly held an enrichment program for her during her class schedule for 3 months and we rearranged her schedule so that we were able to have her catch up on her dance moves without missing a beat. No fuss from getting her costume (in which they take the time to measure all the dancers), pic day, getting tickets, dress rehearsal and the actual recital because everything was communicate VERY CLEARLY on emails and tickets are order online like everyone should in this day and age and not wait online in the hot sun like the last school I went to. Reason I kept saying last school (you can read my previous review) was because I had it soooooo bad for a year before, something this organized and easy is a very welcoming experience for any parent.
