We have been coming here for many films and events . In the main State Theater . The best popcorn around. Great cocktails . A fabulous staff . It's such a treat to come here . Today was a first for us . We came and saw a film at the Jewel Theater . Cool little theater . Comfy seats . Great afternoon out at our favorite Movie / Event theaters :)

Went to watch the Little Women (1994) screening and fell in love with the theater. Their concessions tasted amazing and the theater itself was mesmerizing. Will be returning soon, specifically to watch The Umbrellas of Cherbourg screening! Can't wait to go back!

A sweet memento from The State Theatre (made by Mocha Magic). Rydell High sweater cookie for the sing-a-long movie Grease!

Went with a group of friends to see The Sing-a-Long movie, Grease! It was so amazing! I wish I would have captured more of the ambiance, people were all decked out in costume, we were given props as we entered. Super fun and cute idea. The staff was very friendly, from the greeters to the concession stand. I only heard about it from a friend. When I looked online on the main website page it wasn't listed. Maybe word of mouth and their calendar that I didn't know about was enough, because it was almost a packed house. 5 out of 5 stars for me! Can't wait until next year! (If they had it again sooner, I would definitely go!)

Zombie Reviver!!! After 2 strong drinks this one felt calm but it kicked in after I was done

I had 3 drinks made by bartender Serena and they were excellent. Expresso Martini is her favorite. I asked her to make me the oddest drink she's made and it was a Zombie Reviver! Strongly recommended. Not alcohol forward but more of a refresher then the alcohol kicks in. I'll be going back for that one!!!

The food menu has some appetizers that go well with the cocktails. Ordered an old fashion and the big ice cube had a retro inspired design stamped on it. I guess I'm trying to say that little details all add up to make this place unique.

Intermission is the BEST. When Serena is here she makes sure we are always in tip top shape. The drinks she makes are divine! and she always puts a smile on our faces :) please go there and tip the absolute most for this bartender. love her to bits! shes superb!

Klimt museum of modern art film was fascinating and the adjacent Intermission cafe is beyond adorable! Great birthday outing for my friend and a beautiful day in downtown Modesto.

espresso martini. Cant go wrong.

At adjoining bar. The Vibe and best espresso martini in town. You can come in for pre movie and they will also meet you with a drink at theater. Order early and often.

Where can I view the food menu?

Hi! We have our extended menu under the ‘concessions’ section on our website. But on a normal day, you can always count on popcorn, sodas, water, candy, and some hot foods like pretzels and corndogs! We also can serve simple cocktails, wine, and… Read more

I've been coming down from Sacramento for shows here for a long time. I've seen some great…read moreshows.I've seen Marie Osmond, Johnny Mathis, Jay Leno, Bill Engvall, and others. I also saw the show "Jersey Boys" here. Every year they do a Broadway series of around five or six shows, and then they have other entertainers come in as well. It's definitely an asset to the community. It's a great venue. They have two theaters. The larger theater holds about 1200 people, all of the seats are good, they are comfortable, with a great sound system. I haven't been into the smaller theater, but that holds about 450 people. The theater is well kept, and all of the employees are friendly. Street parking is limited, but there is a big garage only about a block and a half away, and the best thing is, they only charge five bucks for parking. They don't check your tickets when you first walk into the building , because they have a ticket office and a will call desk in the lobby.. They check your tickets. Once you head into the theater. Prices are typical for what you would pay at other venues. Of course, it depends on how close you are sitting to the stage one thing. Be sure that you buy tickets from the official Gallo center webpage. Several ticket brokers. Make it look like they are the official page, but they are not, and you will pay a pretty penny more They have a decent concession area, with beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks., the only thing is, if you want to take your drink into the theater, , and you don't have one, you have to buy one of their "souvenir cups" with a lid for an additional three bucks. Just keep it and you won't have to pay that again. The show I saw this time around, was "Mrs. Doubtfire, the musical." as strange as that sounds, it's a wonderful show. No, you are not getting Sally Field or Robin Williams, but the people who played the roles were absolutely fantastic. The kids were really cute too. I had seen the show on Broadway, and when I saw it was coming to Modesto, I just had to see it again. Just an overall great evening, well worth the drive down. Thank you

Keanu Reeves is the bass guitarist and humbly performed without saying a word. Besides the over-eager fan yelling at Keanu to talk to her for a good thirty minutes straight, the crowd was actually tame. We talked to the guy sitting alone after the yelling fan left. He said he didn't know her, and we all shared a laugh. After that, back to an unusually quiet crowd. The staff was very friendly and personable. Parking is close, and the location feels safe.

This worked fine for us. We had our menus and drinks in a reasonable time, and had a relaxing time throughout. We both had the pulled pork sandwich along with the ice tea. I also had the cup of chili - nicely spiced). I enjoyed my sandwich (skipping the bun, as I am trying to limit carbs). My friend, whom I realized often fusses about the meals we share, was more critical. His comments were "Wrong bun, hamburger bun shoulda been an onion bun" and "How long does it take to make a sandwich?" (The wait time was totally reasonable to me.) He didn't like the potato salad (but ate it all with little time spared). He liked the meat in the sandwich, giving it a 5 out of 5. He liked the service less (I felt it was on point and just fine.) The "hamburger" was clearly made from frozen patties with no flavor or effort put into it. To make things worse, the waitress tried to charge me an extra $10 that wasn't even supposed to be on the bill. When I questioned it, the attitude was dismissive instead of apologetic. Bad food and questionable service -- definitely not worth the money.

This bar delivers on every level, and a huge part of that magic comes from Stephanie, who is hands-down one of the best bartenders you'll ever meet. Stephanie doesn't just make drinks, she creates them. Every cocktail is perfectly balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care and skill. You can tell she knows her craft inside and out, and it shows in every glass she serves. Whether you're ordering a classic or letting her surprise you, you're guaranteed something amazing. And the food? Unreal. Stephanie doesn't just shine behind the bar, she absolutely crushes it in the kitchen too. The in-house sauces she makes are next level, each one packed with bold flavor and clearly made from scratch. They elevate every dish and give the menu a homemade, high-quality feel that's hard to find these days. Honestly, everything on the menu is worth trying, but if nothing else, you have to get the chipotle chicken tacos. They are outstanding and alone are reason enough to come back again and again. Between the great atmosphere, incredible food, and Stephanie's unmatched talent with both drinks and dishes, The Boardroom isn't just a bar, it's an experience. Highly recommended.
