Sofia was so sweet, and I really enjoyed our conversation! She was personable, could carry a conversation, very kind, if this review was based on service alone i'd give it 5 stars! Unfortunately, the problem came down to the actual lashes. I added a picture so you can see the problem. This photo was taken 3 days after getting the lashes. I've been getting lashed since I was 16 and have never had lashes applied like this. And that's not even the worst part! I woke up the next day, eyes blood shot. They were painful and swollen and nothing i did helped. I ended up shooting her a message, and she said it was likely just the eye pad being too far up my lash line. I also checked in with my doctor once my vision began to blurry. The doctor noted I was having an allergic reaction and chemical burns. I also had an optometrist look, who noted not only were my eyes burned, they were infected and leaking pus. This has never happened to me which was so disappointing because i loved the style of lashes Sofia did and I liked her as a person. I had to miss two days of work as a result of this and even when i returned I couldn't be in sunlight due to how sensitive my eyes were. Safe to say I won't be returning...

Whatever Shiori uses for her technique is honestly one of a kind. I had my nails done five days ago and I noticed chipping on my right hand three days ago and now my left hand today. I've mentioned the issue at each return visit, hoping we could figure out a better solution, but the outcome has been the same. I've never had this problem before -- not at my previous nail salon in Seattle and not in all my years living in LA. So this has been especially frustrating. I'm currently only coming here because my longtime nail salon (Nice Nails) of nine years temporarily closed for remodeling. I'm counting down the days until they reopen in March. I truly wish I had a better experience to share, but consistency and longevity matter -- and that just hasn't been my experience here.

Best of all though there is FREE parking in the garage just a half block up on Leary in Cavan station retail. I used to see Dakota for regular sugaring when she worked at her previous employer in Greenlake, and before I left to live abroad. I always noticed that with her sugaring "technique" (maybe it was her quickness? or maybe magic?) it seemed to hurt less than with other estheticians I'd been to, and it helped that we always chatted throughout the appointments to make it less painful or uncomfortable. Now that I live out of the country I don't see Dakota on a regular basis, but while I was visiting Washington recently for Thanksgiving knew I had to go try a facial at The Clean Esthetics - and it was so worth it!
