When we open the containers with the boil the bags contained one small potato, one tiny onion and a 1" long piece of sausage. You would think for $70/pp CC would have provided a sterling meal but instead decided to provide far less to maximize profit. To be fair there was a fair amount of clams and the lobster was a cull. We also ordered clam chowder and their version which contains celery was not very popular with most the guests resulting in much of it being thrown away. I just need to tell you how incredibly impressed I was with the Pranzi team. From the very beginning working with Chelsea was a dream, she was professional, prompt, and helpful. This event was the first of its kind and I had never worked in Rhode Island before. It is also the first event at the hotels we used as they typically do not do events. I found Pranzi in my search, and they seemed like the right fit and they certainly were! Melissa and Jarrod were with us each day for breakfast and lunch and as soon as I met them, I knew they had everything in control and in place. Melissa was thoughtful, gave us help determining the best for set up and kept me informed as needed throughout the day. Jarrod was a very nice, helpful man and always willing to help and very kind. Our evening events with Erica as the lead and with Erica and Jen on night 2 along with their team - Jonathan, Emily, Jennesey, Michaela, Joe, Jeremy, Joscan and Brent. Wow ! They made us shine. What an amazing group of wonderful people who are amazing at their jobs. I had many conversations with all of them, and the conversations ALWAYS came back to how much they love their job, they love the company and said that the owner takes such good care of them. I kept telling them I was going to move to RI so I can work with all of them again and host more events ! I could go on and on. I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with Pranzi for my wedding catering and tent…read morerental. The biggest issue was the lack of communication, preparation, and coordination leading up to and on our wedding day. The event coordinator I was assigned from the beginning was pregnant and due to give birth about a month before my wedding. While I completely understand that circumstances like this happen, there should have been a proper transition plan in place. Instead, I was informed of a new coordinator only ONE WEEK before my wedding, and I did not actually speak with or meet my new coordinator, Rachel, until the day before. At that point, it was very clear that nothing had been properly communicated or transferred over. Unfortunately, this resulted in complete chaos on our wedding day. Tables were set up in the wrong order, place cards were not placed correctly, a significant amount of our personal decorations were never put out, and the floor plan was incorrect. Rachel also completely mishandled our ceremony processional. She had the bridesmaids begin walking out while the groomsmen's song was still playing, completely throwing off the timing and flow of our ceremony entrance. This was something that should have been coordinated ahead of time, and it was incredibly disappointing to have such an important moment handled so poorly. The lack of preparation extended to basic catering necessities as well. Pranzi did not bring trash bags or paper towels, and they did not provide steak knives for guests who were served the steak meal. These are extremely basic items that I would expect a professional catering company to have prepared and readily available for a wedding. The coordination itself was also incredibly frustrating. Rachel took very little initiative and seemed to have very limited problem-solving skills. Multiple times, she would ask me if I wanted something handled, I would say yes, and then it simply would not get done. As the bride, I should not have had to spend my wedding day tracking down my coordinator and making sure basic tasks were being completed. One of the most disappointing moments was after our wedding speeches, when we went to do our champagne toast and realized that the bride and groom's champagne glasses had not even been filled. Something that should have been such a simple detail was completely overlooked. I understand that weddings are large events and that things can go wrong, but what was most disappointing was the sheer lack of preparation, communication, initiative, and problem-solving. These were not just minor details that we could overlook. We trusted Pranzi with a very important day, and unfortunately, the execution did not reflect the level of service we expected. I reached out to the owner, Lisa, to share my experience and give Pranzi an opportunity to address what happened. Unfortunately, and not to my surprise given the lack of communication throughout this entire experience, she has not responded! If you are a bride considering hiring Pranzi for your wedding day, I strongly encourage you to proceed with caution and ask detailed questions about who will be coordinating your event, how transitions between coordinators are handled, and how you can be assured that every detail will be communicated and followed through on. Based on my experience, I would not recommend relying on Pranzi to manage the details of your wedding without extensive oversight and written confirmation.

First off, the venue coordinator was generally rude and condescending the entire time, asking my friend repeatedly if he had read the email she had sent them, while also commenting on the fact that she expected them to have more questions? Wedding planning is obviously stressful but part of the job is customer service and you can NOT be actively rude! Anytime they asked a question that she clearly didn't have a good answer to she would downplay it by responding condescendingly and make them feel weird for asking . One example that felt particularly alarming to me was that my friend asked if they have any single person restrooms to accommodate non-binary guests, or families. She responded by saying that "we've never had that issue before, we've had trans here before but they just used the mens room". While I won't try to begin to unpack all of the insane parts of that response, I just want to say that a normal and sane way to respond would have been "yes, we have single person bathrooms" or "no we do not have single person bathrooms". Then at another point in the tour, my friend asked what the biggest issue they tend to have at the venue is. I feel like this is a common enough question that event planners and owners of venues should have a quick response to, but instead this woman again had an alarming reply. She basically said that "timing" is difficult because some people run late which makes things complicated at the venue, and then she SPECIFICALLY said that "island people" (read: black people) tend to run late and that's causes issues. Not only did that not answer the question at all, she basically said "problems that this venue has? Well when we host black people there are problems". Excuse me????? Who do you think you are??? Literally writing this is making me laugh out loud at how ridiculous of a response that is. The only reason my friend toured this place was because he had gone to a wedding here before, and ironically after this insane experience he called that friend and she told him that while she loved her wedding 100% if she could do it again she would do it somewhere else because the venue coordinator was so awful. Apparently local businesses also avoid working with this place because of this woman. Overall, this was just a horribly and unnecessarily awkward experience for my friend, and I just hope that any couple looking at venues reads this before touring to spare them the stress of having to meet with this woman. Its a HUGE shame too because it really is a stunning venue! They should just get new planners :)

The ceremony was held at their classic white gazebo, then we were led indoors into the banquet hall with 16 large round tables each able to seat 10 guests, and a long table along the side for the wedding party. Beautiful carved floral decorations were set about the stationary displays while smaller carvings were to be found on the trays carried about. The passed appetizers were pretty tasty. The chowder was okay. The prime rib and accompanying sides were pretty good. Service was fine.
