When I asked one of the paid employees, was the blood going to be sold they told me no and so after I donated blood I'm an O negative blood type so they're very interested in me donating plasma , in addition to the blood, which I declined. After I donated blood I did find out that yes it was going to be sold. So at these blood donation drives they're actually selling the blood they're not just collecting it and giving it away for free and I think that's what a lot of people believe. So you're not donating blood to people who need it you donating blood to generate profits for the Red Cross.

Information and content was primarily the same with minor tweaks and updates. So whats the difference? The delivery, the host, THE TRAINER! Leo was great, the combination of his demeanor and delivery was pleasant and kept my attention. Leo also used scenarios and class participation to keep us all engaged. The course was a hybrid meaning that I had to do an online portion, then forward my completion notice to Ted who then scheduled the in person hands on portion. Ted was thorough, even checking to hear how the online portion went (that was done on an AHA site which he does not control) and he quickly assessed my needs to tailor areas of focus needed. Very professional with a delightfully humanizing touch. Ted is an EMT and does this training all over the area. I was very pleased, got my card by email within about 48 hours. This friendly, professional guy runs a great business. I told all my friends at work. Highly recommended. The whole process cost me about $75, a bargain considering how truly efficient it is.
