We wanted to get him use to a more structured setting before he started kindergarten. After meeting with Saprina, getting a tour of the school and hanging out in the classroom for about an hour we knew it was exactly what he needed. He learned so much in the 8 months. It made the transition into Kindergarten a breeze. He had a few friends from Imagination Station in his kindergarten class which also helped. Our younger son started attending Imagination station when was 18 months. Since he had gone with me to drop off brother he was use to the very friendly staff and did not have a hard time going 2 1/2 days a week. He has transitioned through 3 of the 4 classes and we have loved every teacher and staff along the way. Our younger son has a very high energy level and they are able to keep him engaged and having fun the whole time he is there. He loves to tell me about circle time, play time, snack time and now he has started working on a letter of the week. I have no doubts that the transition into kindergarten will be smooth. With my husband being in law enforcement there are endless schedule changes, over time shifts and court that come up. With Imagination Stations drop in option and amazing staff we have never had to worry about the boys. Thank you Imagination Station for being there for our family. Thank you for hiring caring and patient staff who care about the success of the children. We look forward to another year of learning and laughs.

I notice negative labeling of the children's behavior instead of an attempt to show them how to act appropriately. They have one thing to teach at this age, social emotional skills. And this doesn't happen here. They would rather label children as a thief, bully, looser or popular instead of trying to teach all the children to get along and resolve conflicts. I removed my child from this school and although I gave them adequate notice they still tried to fine me. Still a year later my child is suffering from behavioral issues as they have been "trying on" what was done to them. Which could have been avoided if the staff was trained properly. When a staff member comes to me and reports the issue and tells me they don't know how to deal with it, maybe the owner should invest some of her money into training staff how to deal with these situations instead of opening a sandwich shop. They get grants for the parents to get free child care why can't they get grants to get their staff up to date on training? They are lucky I haven't taken them to court for what happened to my child there.

I also have one other point of reference for the place, some of the more excentric self possessed kids at my high school in Berkeley had attended Camp Winnarainbow... The camp itself was founded by Wavy Gravy, who contrary to what some young folk might think, is more then a Ben and Jerrys ice cream flavor - or at least equal to an ice cream flavor, i mean a good ice cream. Wavy was a clown back in the days when he was MCing woodstock and running a pig for president. The camp started out focusing on clown skills, and now has grown to a full fledged performing arts camp. The kids will learn juggling, stilt walking, face makeup, magic, unicycle riding, acrobatics, dance, acting, etc. There is, as expected, a focus on creativity and fun through it all... Also note that it is not only for kids. The also offer a one week "adult camp" where us old folk can learn to be kids again, at least for a couple of days.
