So many negatives....but it's a 'one-horse-town' so I suppose you get what you get. Very few skate sessions and all the ones we have attended have tons and tons of little littles attending who do not know skate etiquette at all and whose parents rarely skate with them or even instruct them. There are no skate guards so, unfortunately, it's a free-for-all. There are no rules or etiquette posted anywhere. When I asked about guards and suggested it they just said they bought the place from someone else and have never had any guards - but she would "definitely think about it". The floor is sticky and dirty and grimy - too grippy to skate very well - not slick at all. I think they allow street shoes and even have soccer sessions or league or something? The skates are (as expected) old - but not maintained at all. Thankfully I always bring my own inserts, but feel sorry for others who rent because there is little to no support and often flat wood bottom! When I asked for a long shoelace to replace the half one on my skate she just replaced the one skate completely. I suggest you bring your own skates. There was no DJ and they rarely do an opposite direction skate. The limbo is for all ages at once - which takes forever (I have always seen it broken up into age brackets). I heard that this place has closed down and changed hands quite a bit over the years so the quality it really low. I guess, growing up in the 70s & 80s I must have been spoiled with really talented skate guards and quality skate facilities so maybe my expectations are too high. I would suggest having theme nights (like an all 70s-80s music, or an all Christian music night, or even an adults only night?) On the plus side they do have an okay snack bar and an arcade with an okay variety of games. It is what it is. Maybe someone can invest in it and raise the quality and standards. There's always potential..... read more
