In January, the nasty, fake, condescending Nicole begged my not to leave the company. I reluctantly gave them another chance after years of dissatisfied, unreliable service. Last year being on automatic delivery, this company was late by 20 days and ran out of gas. This time again being late by 4 months and again I ran out of gas. The last delivery was Oct. 2022, here it's Feb. 2023. I had to call emergency to get my tanks fill. This company I would never recommend these people to anybody. The owner of this company John DiBiasi has totally lost his mind. He has no customer service skills and lost most of his business already, it won't be long before this company closes. I've been a good customer for several years until I asked if I could get some touch up paint on my gross looking rusty tanks. John acted like I was asking for free gas. He would rather loose a customer then give a half a can of spray paint. Update: Worst Propane company likely soon to be out of business. After having to switch to a different company, I called them up to pick up their empty tank. They gave me a date for when they would come pick it up - never came. When I called about it, the girl I spoke with said "oh we have no specific date of when we come to pick up the tank, just whenever our drivers are in your area". So I'm in the middle of telling her "if this tank isn't picked by Friday I'll donate it to the local scrape metal collector" she cut me off however to declare that by some amazing coincidence she just got word they will be picking up the tank that day. Two hours later, a man who must have been 85 years old comes to collect the tank, they didn't provide the poor old man with a hand truck. He literally rolled this 100 pound tank out of my yard, down my long driveway to his truck. A day later Starlite tries to bill me $63 for "tank pickup service". And when I call, I end up arguing with the poor girl who didn't understand why I refuse to pay the bill and either wouldn't transfer me to a manager or they just refused to take my call. Zero stars. Unethical company. Trying to cheat my elderly parents after many years of being loyal customers. Keep sending false bills claiming monies owed for made up charges. Delivered gas after service cancelled, took 4 months to pick up tank, kept accumulating charges after cancellation, claimed gas was used although other company was currently delivering. Extremely rude and discourteous people providing customer support. Ignored multiple certified letters from honest people trying to correct the situation. Extremely dishonest. STAY AWAY! This propane supplier is unprofessional in every way. After using them for about 2 years, I finally changed suppliers. Starlite was charging 50 cents per gallon MORE than the competitiors, does not stick to charges quoted by Renee on the phone (quoted a tank removal fee of $54 and then actually charged $99.90). Their customer service does not include "customer". They operate only to gouge and squeeze every penny out of their customers. read more

In this company some employees are nice but there is a girl so unprofessional that shouts to customers by phone what a nasty way to talk to customers. Where is the customer service? Hope the manager know this or the owner because in business no matter the problem customers are the first and you need to find the way to help them. This company creates their own problems. Their customer service is non-existent and bills were supposedly sent via email, most companies would contact you by phone or letter if there was a lingering balance. Don't bother calling office to review bills either, person answering phone kept having to check with supervisor because what she was told to say clearly made no sense. Abrupt supervisor picks up phone, saying it's our fault that we don't check spam (doesn't everyone check spam daily?) so uncooperative trying to get account straight, especially if you have ANY balance (not even $80) - we initiated call, was getting things in order b4 move, was told about balance but was not provided details of balance. We tried to work things out amicably, totally stonewalled bcz of balance. Why would i pay it if I didn't believe it was owed. I actually thought we had a credit since last year they filled tank and then told us tank needed replacement. Well then why did u fill it? StarLite said they would credit acct, maybe they did, maybe they didn't. Send a statement some time so we could see account activity. Also, StarLite escalated situation and came and removed tank next day after phone interaction, no notice. We were moving and trying to get a reading- and they said we should have given them at least a week notice- we didn't even know when our closing was. If anyone ever bought or sold a home, you know that things can just happen quickly once the lawyers coordinate everything. StarLite could come get the tank but not come to give us the reading for closing. They were all about what they could NOT do instead of working with us. BTW, we were paying customers for 15 years, paying along the way, not a risk to them. We only received a refill only once or twice a year, was reasonable but they changed rules too, now there was a rental fee due to lack of usage, we were on auto delivery, but somehow became on-call acct, generating a fee, new policy was sent, u guessed it, by email. Current status is we moved, no payment was made, we need info, will deal w BBB to resolve since they are unwilling and petty at StarLite and would not take time to review bill and resolve. We recently established an account with StarLite after our former propane server was taken over by a company we were totally dissatisfied with. We have a gas fireplace. We had no difficulty contacting StarLite, and spoke with a very pleasant and helpful woman on the phone. Arrangements were made to deliver a new 200 pound tank and disconnect from our old service within the week. We were contacted the night before to confirm. We called the next morning for a delivery window, which was accurate. The technician was professional and knowledgeable. He made sure our fireplace was working after installing the new tank. Beyond horrible and unprofessional. I had them deliver propane today. They left and hours after I still smelled propane. Same thing happened a year or so ago and I lost my whole charge. I called to explain this and I received the worst customer service response I have had from any service company. And this is coming from someone who owns an HVAC company in the city... All I know is customer service and this company does not. They told me they wanted to charge me to come out and see what happened... I told them it was not leaking or smelling before they came.. told them about he situation years ago.. and they fought me to death on it... saying how do they know it wasn't leaking before.. they were rude, unprofessional and just a horror to deal with. They will be hearing from my legal counsel. To think they take this approach with something that is a life safety matter is unreal. Don't know how they are even insured at this point. I contacted Starlite to exchange two 120 gallon propane tanks for one 250 gallon tank because the installation manual of a propane generator I purchased required a horizontal tank. The manager or owner "Michael" came to my home to inspect the site. He seemed to have "attitude" for some reason when he showed up. So he looked at the site and we arranged for the tank to be delivered. On the day of the scheduled delivery I was waiting at home and they failed to show up so I called to find out what happened and Michael told me he left a message on my voicemail requesting confirmation of the delivery and I didn't confirm so they cancelled. I said I never received the voice and again the attitude came out. I check my voice mail again, no message, so I rescheduled for the next day, confirmed. The next day the delivery arrives with two 120 gallon tanks, not what I ordered. So the driver looks at the site and says I can't put a 250 gallon tank on the site I prepared because it was too close to the house. OK Michael never mentioned that. So take the tanks back I have to call the generator manufacturer to determine if I can use the 120 gallon tanks. The manufacturer says I can use the 120's if we change the regulator to high volume, so I call Starlite back to reschedule and again they don't show the next day after confirming they would deliver. I call again, Michael cancelled the delivery, said he left a message on my voicemail that they wouldn't deliver because I didn't have a permit, again which I didn't receive. PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! I would have given this company NO Stars but it wasn't possible. StarLite Propane is unprofessional and has zero customer service. They make mistakes and then give you an attitude and are unkind and unwilling to resolve. We moved into a new home with tanks that we were replacing with previously purchased tanks. Bill from Starlite came to pickup their tanks, regulator and stand and took my $129 fee to check out my replacement tanks. (Paid Cash! Big mistake) That same day I set up future service with Allison over the phone. Fast-forward to this fall, I just ran out of gas on Thanksgiving and called StarLite the next day to get gas. Spoke with Allison who was unsympathetic and argumentative and told me I didn't even have an account with them and didn't remember ever talking with me previously. After scanning and emailing my paperwork again, Allison sent me an email saying they couldn't come until at least a week later just to check out my tank for leaks and it would be another $129 charge. Huh? When I called back questioning her about Bill's previous visit, she told me he no longer worked with the company so how could he have been at our home and practically accused me of lying. I'm not sure if they are just incompetent or scamming as well but they took our money, were unhelpful and uncaring to boot! Who needs this?
