While the movie selection may not be as art house as some hoosiers would prefer, how can you not enjoy a vintage drive-in like this. Come here with a six pack and a bench seat.

Beautiful drive in with grass. First run movies and a great concession stand. What more do you want?

Great Atmosphere for a drive in movie theater with reasonable prices on food and a great selection of snacks.

It adds some charm to the place no doubt, but after it rains before the movie the field is hard to traverse without being wet.

What a fun way to see a movie or even a double feature! Love coming to Centerbrook Drive In…read more They just celebrated 75yrs in business, def doing something right. Movie screen is large and blemish free. Sound comes thru your radio. Nice playground for kids. Grassy parking. Concessions are great. Hot Dog, fries, popcorn, candy and soda are a must here. Fun merch also available. Get in line early. And hey, southbound people go down and turn northbound. Don't try to cut!

We loaded up my car with 3 adults and 2 children and got in to this quaint little drive-in for the $25 carload special. What a deal! We had packed up our favorite snacks and drinks, since most of us have food allergies and special dietary needs. So I can't speak of the concession stand. But it sounded like their fried donuts are a big hit. The people on both sides of us went back a few times for more, and their children cheered as their sweet treats were delivered. After the first movie, they announced that if anyone wanted more donuts, now was the time to get them, as they were close to running out for the evening. The rest of the drive-in seemed very well kept. I'm used to the drive-in downtown, with nothing but gravel. This drive-in only has one screen, but is much nicer. The lush grass is perfect for spreading out a blanket and sprawling out while you snack and take in a movie. My girls absolutely loved the playground that's available, and I loved that it kept them occupied while we waited for the movie to start. We didn't realize they do not want anyone on the playground once the movie starts, so we allowed them to go swing a few times with the promise to be quiet. A few other children did so a few times, and I thought it was perfect for wiggly young children who struggle with sitting still for a 2 hour movie. They never played long before running back to the car. This was also a screening of a kids' movie, so I thought it was perfectly acceptable. However, I can see the danger that it may present, being so dark. At one point, several children ended up playing there and were getting a little rowdy. An employee came hurrying thru, apologizing to everyone in their path about the children "disturbing the movie" (oopsie. My bad.) and kindly told the children that the playground was closed. They were very polite about it, and now we know better for next time. We will definitely be back. This was a really enjoyable and pocketbook friendly family experience.

I have not been to a theatre in years. In YEARS! The last time I went to a movie, Bloomington had…read moreAMC theatres on each side of town, and Bedford had 2 small multiplexes. I preferred the one that closed, but this place surprised me. Before going, I was told they have reclining seats. I thought this meant standard movie theatre seats that had a bit of a sliding action so you reclined a little bit. Nope. These are full on padded reclining seats that get you at about a 30-45 degree angle. There is plenty of room between your feet and the seat in front of you, so if someone has to use the bathroom or get up, it's not really an issue. There are cup holders, of course, and because it's now made for comfort, a screen does not hold as many people as it used to. It's somewhat drab when you first walk in. On a slow night they handle tickets at the concession counter. With business not being what it used to be, what were shelves that held theatre candy at either end of the concession stand are now just used for storage. It's a shame no one could be bothered to dress it up a bit. It's just a cozy little place with a few screens. The experience itself was great. The sound was blasting, the screen was big, and the chair was comfy. The popcorn was pretty salty, but hey. It's theater popcorn. This has to be the preferred place for any of us where I live. I fully endorse it. Don't expect anything fancy. It's a small theatre in a small town, and the company clearly expects to stick around for a while if they've invested in the seating. GO! GO! GO!
