This new restaurant is a 10 in my eyes!! From the moment that you enter this gorgeous restaurant you are just in awe with each and every detail of the space. Not only is the bar adorable, the restrooms are just as beautiful. The amount of detail is stellar thru out the restaurant. The plates and glassware are perfect!!! The food and presentation are just as topnotch as the decor. The colors of the food are vibrant and so delicious.. We had a lot of different dishes to share and 2 desserts to finish with. We had Oscar as our server and he was so friendly and his knowledge and suggestions were right on. When we were leaving we spoke to Phyllis the Manager & she was so nice. All in all we will be back with friends and family. This is truly a wonderful new place!! read more

I think the intention of the restaurant is good. The food was average. The highlight was the hummus appetizer. The poke bowl had salmon that wasn't sushi grade. In other words, it was crunchy. The tacos had no additional ingredients. The music was too loud and parking was very difficult. It's a cute space. Service was excellent and the server really knew the menu items. We did feel a bit hurried to leave in a subtle way. Be careful on the tip. They use a 5% wellness and tax on the total amount to tip so you are tipping on their wellness fee. read more

We ended up at this place after receiving a gift card as a gift! The service was pretty good, some delays inbetween seeing our server and no check-ins on how things were + no refill on the waters. Not a big deal but for paying slightly premium prices I had a little higher expectations. The space is beautiful and decorated well with lots of nature elements brought in. The parking situation is a bit limited so I would plan ahead on busy nights. We were able to be seated immediately and we tried a few of their different appetizers. We thought all of them were pretty average with the Korean pancake being very over salted in our opinion. The cocktails were beautiful though and the restaurant has a very nice vibe to it. We would try this place again and order different things! read more

Wow, what a beautiful space! The booths are designed in such a great way for a good conversation over a cocktail. Cozy but not too cozy! Would be such a great spot for a glass of wine with friends. The dish I would 100% come back for was the green curry walleye. Great spice level and flavor, lots of finely shredded cabbage to balance out the flavor punch, and then fried walleye that managed to stay crispy in a coconut curry sauce. Some sort of sorcery. We also enjoyed the steamed bun starter. The Spicy Paloma cocktail was super refreshing. The chicken yakisoba was a little salty to my palate, but we had to have it customized for a food allergy and I think what we asked them to leave out would have pulled it together, so that's on us. read more

Starling has such a great vibe. All the greenery makes the space feel calm and inviting, but there is still this luxe, polished feel that makes each visit feel special. It is the perfect mix of going out and feeling at home. Madi and the team are incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind, which really sets the tone. The food is fantastic as well. If you go, you have to try the yakisoba. It has become one of my go to dishes. read more

I ordered a cocktail consisting of one liquor and 2 mixers, both of which come out of the soda gun. I was charged separately for the shot of liquor and $2 each for the squirts from the soda gun. So, if I ordered a rum and coke would I be charged $2 or $4 for the mixer? Ridiculous pricing model and I will never ever go back . read more

Beautiful interior. Great menu options and delicious. I will be back. It was a perfect night.

This place is quite new and i liked the variety of food on the menu so we chose to come here for father's day! I forgot to take photos of everything besides the dessert though The drinks were really amazing. We tried the Ube Cosmo (my absolute fave), the shishito mojito, the margarita, and the old fashioned. They were so amazing! For apps we got their sticky wings which were super delicious. Definitely get them! We got their oysters which were fresh and very yummy! And the Pork buns were a favorite amongst our group! Sadly i felt like all of the main dishes we got were underwhelming and fell a little flat. The fish dish on the menu had a strange texture to the fish, felt almost a little under done. The taste was alright though. I got the butter chicken tacos which had a nice taste but didn't have anything in them other than butter chicken, some pickled onions and cilantro. For $17 for 2 tacos, i felt like they could've been a little more complex and elevated. the skirt steak was probably the worst one out of all the dishes we had. We asked for it pink and it wasn't pink at all. The texture was strange. The chimichurri was a little unbalanced in my opinion. The pork adobo was just alright, same w/ the fried rice. I would ABSOLUTELY come here again for just apps and drinks. The interior is cute and trendy but on the classier side and the staff was very friendly! read more

Went for Brunch and we enjoyed our meal and interaction with fellow staff was kind and welcoming. Will return!! read more

Another gem found in Minneapolis. This place is so pretty. Love the color palette. Food was delicious. Honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. Waitress was excellent and really spent time going over the menu with us. Just great. read more

This place is interesting. It is a fusion of menu items from all over - stuff you don't normally see together in the same place. That means variety, but it also felt slightly confusing. But to be clear, that was just my personal feeling, not a critique of the food itself! Speaking of the food, it was delicious! I had the Balinese fried rice, and it was really good. One of my friends had a burger (standard), and the other had yakisoba, both of which were also tasty. This is a new place, and I understand startup costs are high, but I didn't feel the value for the cost matched up - prices were a bit high. The atmosphere was beautiful! It was lush, green, airy, fresh, and had a lovely golden warmth about it. The service was fantastic. Our server, Johnny, was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He took excellent care of us. One thing I'd like to see changed is how The Starling serves their dishes. I prefer the customary approach of having all the dishes served simultaneously, rather than one plate served as it is prepared from the kitchen. Unfortunately, the Starling follows the style of bringing each person's dish as it's ready. I'm not a fan; I believe everyone should be served together as a matter of etiquette. I don't like eating while others are still hungrily waiting for their food--it's so tacky! We will give it another shot and try another dish or two. I hope they adjust how they serve their dishes. Wishing them good luck moving forward! read more

Service was relatively good although the server was pushing items that we didn't ask about and weren't interested in which was annoying. Not a fan of the "serve as ready" concept and with four people it's awkward for each to get served at different times. We tried the pork buns, steak tacos, butter chicken tacos, and the burger. Definitely a fan of the pork buns and chicken tacos. Steak tacos were bland and boring and the burger was nothing special and a huge let down for $18 and no sides. Ambiance was good - a bit loud but the energy was good. Parking is limited but they do offer valet service for $10+tax and "fees". This was our first visit and the second for our dining partners who wanted to try it again after a mediocre first visit - we all agreed there was nothing special or interesting enough to return for a second/third time. read more

Loved the food! I got a burger with a fried egg and it was excellent. Also had a side of fries and the seasoning was very good and unique for the fries and the spicy sauce paired with it was perfect. Ordered a side of turkey sausage and it was ok, nothing to rave about. A bit pricy for it and a bit pricy overall. Food was great, service too! Ambience was nice, very chill quiet place. read more

Starling - Burger - Desserts Near Me - Edina, Minnesota

Starling was absolutely stunning! They have only been open for a few weeks and our experience was great! Typically there are kinks to workouts in the beginning but everything seemed pretty smooth. I absolutely loved the poke and am thinking about the next time I can have. We also enjoyed the butter chicken tacos and the fried chicken sandwich. The only thing I don't like about this place is they bring the food out as it's ready. It feels awkward to sit and eat in front of your party when each person ordered their own entree. Someone was almost done with their food by the time another person got theirs. read more

The atmosphere was beautiful walking in. And we were seated a few minutes after the reservation. The host redirected us to the bar for a cocktail, Marvin & Jesse took care of us there and I got an ube cosmo to start off the night. After getting sat at our table, our food was ordered and brought out in a timely manner with no complaints! Overall, I would come here again read more

I loved that a lot of their menu is Asian-inspired and I came here just for the Vietnamese coffee martini. Heads - up it is a nitro style martini so be prepared for that! The atmosphere is stunning with the plants and is brand new. Parking is valet or finding nearby street parking. The service was good as our server was so knowledgeable and gave us awesome recommendations. I'd get the bao buns and the sticky wings every time! read more

Cute place. Food was flavorful. Sticky wings were a bit salty. Wok fried green beans, pork buns, chicken yakisoba were good. Walleye green curry was flavorful but served colder than it should have. Service was efficient & friendly. read more

Beautiful decor... closes very early. Expensive. But that's Edina. A good place for large groups going out for the evening... was hoping for a patio for a nice place to relax with friends... but, sadly no. read more

Decided to try this spot to see if Jester Concepts can step it up -- I thought their take on Butcher & Boar was uninspired. Arrived at a little after 2:30... oh boy was no one ready for a customer. Host was on his phone, bartender looked surprised. After I was seated the server, a very young guy, was busy clearing a table for a *while* before ever approaching me without another table in his section (at that time of day there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant). The server didn't know the menu, didn't know the happy hour drink...but he was earnest and clearly wanted to be friendly -- this us a product of poor training by management with someone who has the capacity to be better. Once you get inside, the restaurant is pretty--some local interior designer like Shea was probably paid a lot. There are lots of plants and warm colors. It makes good use of an awkward L-shaped space. The interior reminded me of the recent trend we've seen at spots like Khaluna, Dario, and Gai Noi. Trendy, but that fits a spot trying to position itself as a good spot in an area without too many options. That said... I still can't get over how bad the location is -- not that it's in Edina, or even that it's in some generic, soulless apartment building, but (1) it's far away from anywhere anyone would ever want to visit in the area like 50th & France or Morningside, you're going to this restaurant and that's it. Nothing else. The area around it is very pedestrian unfriendly; and (2) did anyone scope out the location first? It faces 100. The outside is blasted by wind. I was fortunate to be there during a mostly overcast day because in the brief moments the sun came out it was overwhelming by the window (they do have shades). This space feels like it sounded good on paper for the location and the dearth of options in its category on that side of Edina. Still... It feels off and it can't be remedied by neighborhood development because it's at the edge of the developable area. It's not particularly visible from the street. I worry about how that will affect its customer traffic. Okay, all of that aside: How was the food? Good. The weakest link was the furikake popcorn. I got into the Japanese seasoning with classic Hawaiian spam musubi a dozen years ago, but now it's become a trendy item. The flavor wasn't bad here, but the popcorn was stale. Give it a pass. The gem lettuce salad was good, I thought it was refreshing, maybe a few too many olives, but nothing I wouldn't order again. The steamed pork buns were more than adequate. The chocolate ganache dessert was not bad, somehow more salty than sweet -- I don't think I would recommend dessert here. All-in-all, this isn't a place worth seeking out. If you're already in the area (I can't say "neighborhood" as it's isolated from any actual neighborhoods), it might be worth giving a try. Nothing about the food, service, location, or ambience sets this place apart in any way. It feels like a paint-by-numbers by Jester Concepts. Spots like this make it harder to remember that Chef Mike DeCamp used to have Monello and Constantine (or work for Tim McKee back in the day). read more

I was there for lunch on Monday afternoon and ordered Thai chicken salad, pork buns, chickpea sweet potato curry and butter chicken tacos. They all were clearly not cooked the same day, literally microwaved food. And I paid $$$ for that huge disappointment. read more

Positives: ambiance, service. It's a nice setting, pleasant and quiet when we stopped by for Happy Hour, received good service. My spouse and I used the Happy Hour menu, ordered the $18 burger and $21 pork buns. Seems like pretty extreme Happy Hour prices. Ordered burger cooked medium, served rare, underwhelming. Three small pork buns, nothing remarkable about them, didn't seem like much food for the price. No draft beer available. Just as good or better for 2/3 the price is easy to find. read more

What a spot! The food was utterly fantastic. We sampled the appetizer menus heavily with the Curry Cauliflower being an absolute highlight. We shared four large plates with the Yaki Soba and the Korean Pork just blowing the doors off. Our dessert highlight was the churro ice cream sandwich which was a real crowning to a fantastic meal. The service was attentive but not overwhelming. The atmosphere was vibrant with the hammered tin ceiling giving a classy touch. The music was engaging, and somewhat loud. All in all a unique, flavorful, engaging experience! read more

Ordered 2 mixed drinks 10$ each thats fine it was the 2 dollar's each time for the diet coke they charged me wow.

First things first - they're still charging credit card fees which is illegal and included as part of the MN Junk fees law that went into effect this year. Considering the price point of this place means a meal for two comes out to about $100+, it's very tacky and feels money-grubby. Stop making customers pay for you to run a business. They do have a beautiful inside space but that's kind of where it ends. I may have chosen the wrong thing to order, but because they are a sister restaurant of Parlour, I ordered the burger hoping it was the same and hate to report that it's nowhere near as good, yet still priced the same - $18.50 for the burger only. Bummer. My partner ordered a chickpea curry and that was pretty good though surprisingly sweet - kinda seemed like they threw sugar in a curry to make it better. The service was friendly but not good, we were literally near the window where the servers get their food and had multiple servers come by our empty plates for about 15 minutes before someone noticed (it was also not busy, the restaurant wasn't even a quarter full at like 9pm on a Saturday?). Everyone seemed pretty hectic and they didn't even think to bus our table. I don't recommend this place but if you still want to try it, maybe do lunch? It's a similar menu and like 60% of the price of dinner, seems more fair. read more

We had reservations and I suggest you get reservations. Their website is a little bit confusing as it states that they do not accept reservations but then when you scroll down, you're able to make a reservation. First a couple of minor cons. Very limited parking by the front entrance. Street parking is available, but it's on the other side of the building. Not an issue last night with the beautiful weather, but in the winter, it certainly could be an issue. They also do not have outdoor seating, which would've been very nice last night with the beautiful weather. Now the positives. Nice urban vibe. We were seated near the kitchen and it was interesting to see how the kitchen operated and how they got the food out. Our server was very attentive and helpful with our selections. I had noticed from previous reviews people suggesting the pork buns as an appetizer. To be honest, I had no idea what they were. Our server did her best to describe the appetizer. We went with them and were very pleased. They come with three in an order, but we added a fourth for our party of four. We thought the best description is that they are similar to a pork taco. Remember similar not a taco. We were very pleased with our entrées. We ordered fried rice, salmon poke bowl, chicken yakisoba, grilled skirt steak. All excellent. read more

We've visited 6 times - a mix of happy hour and dinner. The setting is terrific and the service is consistently friendly. The food is generally good but below the quality you'd expect for the price. The pork buns in our experience have been consistently bad - gummy/fatty pork nestled in a chewy bun. The fries, burger, wings, and beans are far better choices and are prepared well. The desserts seem to be standard offerings not prepared in house. read more

This place has such a cool vibe. Great service and the pork buns and humus are the best in town. I've been back 3 times already and can't wait to check out brunch. Parking isn't that bad, I've gotten a spot in the lot twice and easy street parking nearby. read more
