You can get to the beaches, downtown, or the Zoo in 15-20 minutes. Tons of chain restaurants and some decent local spots if you know where to look. 3 stars because it's useful but not a destination. Be prepared if you plan on hanging around this area on the weekends and holiday breaks; traffic can be hectic as well. Yes, you can fish at the SD river! Yes I belive CV has the best Mexican, Mariscos, Chinese food in all SD! Just drive down Broadway CV you'll find almost every Mexican food, taco shops & Mariscos you can want! From Tacos El Gordo to Canelo's new spot & Birria places just to name a few. And so many good little cafes & bars on 3rd & Downtown Chula Vista. If you live in CV you don't have to leave your city to find good food, it's all around you baby. Overall CV is a good city to live in & raise a family in like I did. You can get health care here, BUT that's because you are going to NEED it after they are done buzzing your home. An El Cajon Superior Court Traffic Judge warned me!!! He was not shy about it either. He was bold as blazes!! He asked me a few questions about the behavior of the Sheriffs and IMMEDIATELY RELEASED MY TICKET. After that I got a legal aide app I pay for yearly! But who should NEED to spend that type money just to still be treated unfairly! This is as close to MOB rule as you will ever experience. The fellowships will just wink behind your back. If you have the choice of a different community use it! Simple advice DO NOT live in a city where someone in the power base has what sounds like a made up last name like 'dare' or 'stall.' I tried to locate it by the pictures that were on here, but they were wrong. After a long search that spanned about 2 days, I was able to find it. I will help you out, if you want to find it. It is located right across the street from 1083 Sunset Cliff Blvd. You can't miss it. Me and my assistant were able to find it in the dark. It is the one covered in bird crap. You cannot mistake it. There is a lot of places to park and get a good look. I would suggest getting there well before sunset because the parking fills up with all the sunset gazers. The rock had quite a few birds on it and is known as a surf break that produces 3 different waves. I do not know what attracts the birds to that specific rock. Some tried to explain it to me, but it was way over my head. I know that it is not much, but it is the little things that matter. It is not a long stop, but definitely worth a visit. A visit here should probably be paired with a visit to Sunset Cliff Park and a sunset viewing. I am really glad that I was able to make it here.

Sunset Cliffs is nice to take in the Pacific Ocean and then you see this big rock with a tone of bird poop and you can't help but stare at the eyesore.

You will find this sculpture in Waterfront Park. You can not miss it. It sticks out like a sore…read morethumb. It is in a little circular area with benches around it. It has two names. Arbre de Serpents or its English translation, Serpent Tree. it was made in 1988 by Niki de Saint Phalle, who is known for colorful sculptures. It depicts a tree looking structure, with snakes where the branches would be. It is very colorful and made stained glass, mosaic tiles, polyester, and mirrors. It should be noted that de Saint Phalle adopted serpents as her signature motif for a perfume she produced to finance her Tarot Garden. There are a few of these these around the country Including New York and Washington DC. Th one in Missouri sits in the middle of a fountain and spits out water. I am not sure if this one has that capability, but it sure would be cool if it did. I really like this piece. It is creative and has some awesome artwork. The sculpture definitely grabs your attention with its bright colors and reflective glass. Parking to get a closer look is easy. There is metered street parking in front of the park where the sculpture is located. Anyway, as with most sculptures that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. Maybe coordinate it with a visit to Waterfront Park or some of the many attractions on the Pier across the street.

So many people here and we can all share the space. I loved seeing everyone out, some on bikes (but they couldn't get thru much), some joggers, some roller skaters, and plenty just getting physical activity in! I honestly was tempted to jog the entire path but was carrying a few things so decided against it. Ill come back next time and just plan to jog it! Great place to get some sunshine, ocean air, nature's medicine! Wish I could give this place 10 stars !!

Look carefully and there are custom painted electric boxes around this walkable neighborhood. Plus, there is a grocery store and pharmacy at the east end of the neighborhood. The name Normal Heights cracked me up every time I saw the sign. Why be normal?! Life is good!
