I came here at 6:45am and was able to find parking literally right at the cove, so come early, its worth it. Lots of wildlife hanging out there. I saw a bunch of sea lions sleeping, tons of cormorants and lots of badass pelicans flying and scooping down for food. By 7am, I was in the water and there were already plenty of people here. I tried out my wetsuit with all my gear and everything worked well. I wasn't too hot in my 4/3 wetsuits. Visibility was crap today and couldn't see much. I'll have to come back again to see if visibility improves. I got out in 30 minutes, no point wasting time with cloudiness. I used the local showers to get the sand and saltwater off myself and gear. Public bathrooms also available. After getting out, I walked around a bit and it was a lovely day. Beautiful area, no wonder everyone likes coming here. I'll be back!

Okay, I'm gonna start off this review by saying everything is perfect (besides one CRUCIAL thing)…read more The atmosphere, the beds, the town, the restaurants, and the living room are great. The negative thing is the shower... This is the worst shower in the entire universe. This pathetic excuse for a shower was so bad that I started reconsidering life. The shower water, straight from the ocean, was freezing even at its max. There was no pressure. It was like 9 consecutive little droplets every 3 seconds and a little bit of Seal semen in the mix, because there is no way that shit was filtered. At first, when I turned on the shower, I didn't notice that the shower head was in the middle of the shower and on the ceiling, so the tiny droplets ricocheted onto my underwear. The problem with this was that this was, like, my last pair, so I had to sleep commando in the same bed as my brother. If you're going to have such a big shower, shouldn't it be angled and have pressure? I swear, the water radius was 20% of the shower, and the other 80% was just there for you to roam around. Don't even get me started on how it felt being under that 20%. It kind of felt like I was sleeping cutely on a beach chair, and some really suspicious obese man approaches me, with his belly hanging right over me. The obese man proceeds to start slowly crying as his wet belly starts dripping on me, and his eye water starts dripping on me too, as he begs for liposuction money. Some dude came over and "cleaned" our shower, and he essentially poked it with a stick and left the room all confident and shit. One of those seals 100 feet away from the hotel would have done a better job than this dude. It's not even just the shower. THE WHOLE BATHROOM SUCKS. 1. Why is the hand soap also body wash? (Weird.) 2. The toilet is in a very uncomfortable spot. 3. The music button on the mirror is unnecessary, and when you click it, it makes a very annoying noise. 4. The body lotion is closer to the toilet than the sink, which symbolizes the encouragement of masturbation. The sink water at its coldest is warmer than the shower at its max. I will admit that the sink does have a little less Seal semen than the shower, though. In conclusion, I will never go to San Diego ever again. If I ever do go to San Diego again, it's probably to harass the seals for what they and La Jolla did to me. Also, this entire area is anti-Dr. Pepper. I tried 6 times at 6 different restaurants, and all the waiters offered me flat Coca-Cola since they thought that was a proper substitute.

The area is reserved and towards a back area of the outdoor courtyards. On the poles, you'll see flags repping the "Bark Park" sign to let you know you're getting close. The area itself is a small yard, a place you can definitely get your dog to do its dookie business in off-leash, but it doesn't hit the dog social aspect of usual dog parks. I wish the area was maintained better because there were no dookie bags refilled (luckily we bring our own) and the trash can was filled to the brim. The trash can lid also needs to be lifted by your hand so you can throw away nature's goodness so I reccommend holding your nose and breath when doing so. Other than that, it's really awesome for a mall to provide this little space, and since it is rare to find that in Los Angeles, my partner and I are very happy and content for the opportunity so we are giving it a 4-stars simply because more maintenance and refills on the supplies was what was missing.

The weather was perfect, sun was out and it was one of those places where it's easy to lose track of time. Sooo soo peaceful ! One disclaimer.. be careful where you walk and where you step. There's a pretty big gap between the grass and the edge of the pavement in one area that is easily hidden. I wasn't paying attention, tripped and scraped both of my knees. Thankfully my ankle ended up being okay after icing it at home. Be careful lol. There's so much space in the park so don't worry about nabbing a great spot. Bring a blanket or beach chair, have a picnic, take in the city views, or just sit and relax for a while. Before you get all the way up the main overlook, there's a large flat grassy area before you enter that looked perfect for birthday parties or small get togethers. Both times I visited were during the day and it wasn't crowded. I did see quite a few people sunbathing lol don't think I've ever seen that at a park before. If you're looking for a peaceful spot to unwind and enjoy some of the best views in San Diego, definitely make some time for Kate Sessions Park!

In the fenced dog park, we've had the good fortune of nearly always coming across other friendly dogs & dog guardians (with only one exception that happened a few years ago) so I feel like that's been pretty great for us socially. The terrain at Fiesta island is slightly rocky, hard packed sand and looser sand closer to the shoreline. I usually wear flip flops if I'm going to play with Cali in the water, but sneakers or trail shoes can also be practical here to avoid stubbed toes on the steeper inclines. We can easily get close to 10,000 steps just walking around the perimeter of the dog area. The walking path for all of Fiesta Island is 4.2 miles! In the springtime, the dog park has experienced wildflower superblooms which are magnificent to witness. There are a few benches under the copse of trees, but otherwise, if you want to sit, it'll be on sand or a chair or blanket you brought. Make sure you bring plenty of drinking water! It can get very hot, and there's no public potable water in the park. Recreationally, I have also had the pleasure of riding a horse at Fiesta as well. So much fun! Fiesta does mean party after all, right? I've seen all sorts of other recreational things happening at Fiesta outside of the dog park area, too... kayaking, jet skiing, swimming, grilling, chilling, and enjoying the water. Of course, there are designated fire pits! I've also seen a little 4x4 action on the sand, boating, kiteboarding, and model airplane flying... Fiesta really does have something for everyone. Notes: It can get very busy and crowded in the summer though so I avoid it on days when I know everyone is going to be out! Portapotties here and there... not that many though! It's also a massive space, so even on busy days there is so much room for my pups to romp around! We typically do walks around the island so us humans get our exercise in too. There were only two dogs there but Gibbs had a blast playing with them in the unfenced area. The grass was in relatively good shape and the area was pretty clean. The only down side was there's no water fountain for the dogs. There was a bucket of water probably provided by some nice dog owner. I brought my own water bottle for Gibbs but the other dog owner didn't have water for her dog so we shared the one I had. Overall it's pretty nice for the dogs and for me because the view there was nice too.

I live next door to this dog park and used to go every day after dinner with my two dogs…read more The biggest change is that a partial fence between the dog area and the children's playground was installed after some run in between an off-leash dog and a little kid in the playground. The dogs used to run around and through the playground, and the new fence helps distance the dogs from the playground. The off-leash area is not completely fenced so if you're dog is a runner, this is not the park for you. I had a big rescue mastiff who would randomly get in fights with other dogs, even after I muzzled him so I stopped going. My other dog died a year ago, and the mastiff recently succumbed to cancer. :( I now have a 10-pound toy fox terrier, and I just don't feel safe taking her to the park with all the big dogs. It just takes a second for her to get trampled or attacked by a bigger dog, and I don't want to risk it. I will sometimes take her late in the day when there are only 1 or 2 dogs about. We have a big yard though, so she has the opportunity to run around off-leash at home. The dogs and owners here are very friendly for the most part. Although someone commented that the dogs don't necessarily interact that much, if you go regularly your dog will make doggie friends and you will probably make friends with other owners. People are very chatty, so you do need to not get distracted and miss seeing your dog pooping so you can clean it up. I think most owners pick up after their dogs, although you will sometimes find abandoned poop on the periphery near the canyon. There is a poop bag dispenser available. There are not any tables or chairs within the fenced off-leash area so people will often have their dogs off-leash on the wrong side of the fence (by the playground) so they can sit down. There is disappointedly no water source for doggy drinking water, although I know of at least one regular who has a key to the water and fills up a bucket during the after work bust time. Some people take their dogs onto the fully fenced baseball fields when they're not being used for a game/practice. I'm sure this is prohibited, but I've never seen or heard of anyone getting in trouble for this. There are restrooms, but I'm not sure when they're open. I've never needed to use them since I literally live next door to the park. There is a parking lot and on street parking, but parking can get very crowded during Little League games.
