ELEVATED SLANTED PARK (4.5 stars)…read more I love this park! Dog friendly but not specifically a dog park. A lot of people lay out and picnic. The views are amazing - you can see downtown and the beaches. There is a parking lot but it can get packed. Once a year they do a music event here. Summers it's packed. I've had picnic here with friends and they love the view and park. I've had lazy chill days here with my dog and we enjoy the scenery. Cool park!

The Dolores Park of San Diego…read more I found this place during COVID and have been coming ever since. If you're looking for a birthday hang, a picnic date, a sunset spot, a place to read, chill with your pup spot, or make some art, this park has you covered. It's the perfect spot for any occasion. The views are breathtaking and the vibe is super laid‑back. There are always plenty of people around, so it feels like one big community hang. If you're lucky, you might even catch someone DJing or playing music everyone can enjoy. They also offer community yoga classes here -- I haven't signed up yet, but it's nice to know it's an option. The park is pretty steep in some areas, so you might need to walk around a bit to find a flat spot where you're not sitting at an incline. I'd recommend bringing chairs, blankets, and any shade essentials you might need since there aren't many tree‑shaded areas. Parking is tough and the bathrooms are your typical not‑so‑great public park bathrooms, but don't let that stop you from experiencing the best park in San Diego.

We love walking along the wide open trails while waiting for the dogs to dry off from swimming. There's also an area with several bowls and water jugs for them to get a drink. It can get crowded at times, especially on the weekends, so we usually go on a weekday and grab lunch at a nearby dog friendly restaurant afterwards. There is plenty of free parking, no bathrooms, maybe a port-a-potty around. Totally worth checking out.

Our cousin who had parked in an actual parking lot went in that entrance. We walked a bit to meet up. From where we were, it looked like miles of walking trails. From where our cousin parked, there were trails that lead to the water. It's funny, we took the dogs for a walk. Miles of trails and the open air. The dogs were in doggie heaven!! Miles of walking, running, and meeting of other dogs and sniffs!! Towards the end, I actually felt like I was being walked by the dogs. I believe I got triple the steps in. No joke!! Overall, it was a great experience! The dogs absolutely loved meeting other dogs. We enjoyed chatting with everyone. The dogs LOVED swimming in the water as well!! Oh! What a loved was all the responsible pet parents! Picking up your dog's poop is a must!! There's trash cans everywhere. I will be back! It was a fun and exhausting experience! I still love it!!!

This park is a quiet outdoor space in the heart of La Jolla Colony for the sole use of the Colony's residents and their guests. The park is a peaceful retreat between I-5 and University City. This park was not off limits when all city parks were ordered to closed since it is a private community park. There's is no obvious entrance sign to this park. The differences in quality are glaring when comparing this privately maintained park and most other City of San Diego parks. The grass here is perfect. The equipment is in good shape for being constantly exposed to the elements. The trees are well maintained. Everything is clean. One day I noticed a wooden post and railing was repaired in less than 2 days! The lawns are very spacious and the track that runs around the perimeter is great for jogging and walks. There are also many exercise "stations" along the track. Most of which are rarely used. I think that's mainly because a lot of these stations are somewhat unnecessary (arbitrary stretching, odd exercises, etc). I just wish they had more pull-up bars.
