We went in a group of 7 people for brunch. The coffee served there is provided by Starbucks, so nothing special to say about the drinks. Our dishes were: - Skirt steak hash $18 (delicious, everything on this plate was good but the eggs were perfect) - Angus burger $16 (just a burger like any other) - Western Omelet $16 (tasty and simple) - Floribama Benedict $18 (tasty and well-portioned). - Beignets $9 (5 pieces and honestly you can't call these beignets, the dough is super heavy and greasy, more like a cheap donut) Our service in general was good, one of the waitresses was nicer than the other. A positive point is that they offer complimentary parking.

My server was friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. She made several suggestions that were fantastic. The Bam Bam shrimp appetizer was really good and the fish tacos hit the spot. Where things got disappointing for me, is how long in between I saw her. From the time I finished eating to her checking in was over 20 minutes. I asked for the bill and it took an additional 15 minutes. Overall, the poor service detracted from what would have been an amazing experience.

After striking out at two beachside bars (one closing at 10, the other just giving "meh" vibes), my…read morehusband and I figured our bar-hopping days might be behind us. We were about to call it when--like some kind of cosmic bar intervention--when the third local of the night, completely unprompted, told us: "If you want late-night wings, you gotta go to Papa Joe's Hideaway." Three different locals can't be wrong, right? So we gave it one last college try--and honestly, I'm so glad we did. From the outside, Papa Joe's doesn't scream "late-night gem." In fact, it kind of whispers "are you sure this is it?" It's tucked just slightly off the main drag, living up to the "hideaway" name in full. But once we stepped inside, it was packed. No touristy flair, no beachy gimmicks--just standing-room-only locals and a buzzing, unfiltered vibe that told us we'd found the spot. We lurked around the edges long enough to snag two freshly vacated bar seats, ordered a round of drinks, and of course, the wings. We were starving by then, so we dove in as soon as the plates hit the bar. Burned our mouths and fingers? Yep. Regrets? None. They weren't fancy. No unnecessary sauces or trendy garnishes. Just perfectly cooked, crispy, juicy, ridiculously flavorful wings. And just in case we were riding a hunger high and only mistook them for the best wings, my husband ordered a second round to test the theory. Verdict? Just as good. Maybe even better. The hype is real--these are some of the best wings we've ever had. We lingered for another drink or two, soaking in the energy of the place. As we finally walked out, full and blissfully buzzed, our bartender caught us leaving and laughed, "Y'all look like my next regulars." If we lived anywhere nearby, she probably would've been right. TL;DR: Papa Joe's isn't trying to be trendy. It doesn't need to be. It's where locals go when the other spots are done for the night, and the wings are so good you'll contemplate canceling your return flight just to have them again. 10/10--burn your mouth, thank them later.

The service from Kimani was friendly and we really enjoyed the 49 cent wing special (M-W, dine in…read moreonly) and being able to bring our dog onto their patio with his stroller. Our pup is old, and has arthritis now (hence, the stroller), so when we travel with him, if a place doesn't have a dog friendly patio, we keep going down the list until we find one that does, or we just grab a sandwich or order to go and eat back in our hotel room. I was wondering what made their nachos so "famous." When they brought out the behemoth that we soon found out was our HALF-SIZED order of nachos, I think INFAMOUS would've been the more appropriate word to describe it! That sucker will take down any man who tries to conquer it. As an appetizer, I think it could satiate at least 5 people! Unfortunately, it was just me and my husband, two very unworthy opponents who failed to carve our way through even a 5th of that giant. While it was a spectacle to behold, I feel I would've gotten much more enjoyment out of it if there were less chips but more toppings. The toppings were spread out too thin which meant an uneven distribution of said toppings, resulting in less enjoyment overall for me. You can't really go wrong with the wings at that price. The buffalo wings we had were a little spicy, very saucy, and came with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and your choice of ranch or bleu cheese dip. They were able to whip up a plain grilled chicken breast for the pup as well, which we greatly appreciated. The jalapeno margarita I got wasn't anything to write home about but I was able to get an extra shot of tequila for $5.50 since it was happy hour (M-F 3-7PM). The nachos, wings, and cocktail I had were in the 3-3.5 star range, but I bumped this up to 4 for their dog friendly patio and service. Cheers!
