The property is beautifully maintained, clean, and updated. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff was efficient, friendly, and welcoming. Throughout our stay, the housekeeping and groundskeeping teams were incredibly helpful and, most importantly, genuinely proud of where they worked. That pride was evident in the care they put into every detail and the joy they showed while interacting with guests. The pool area was absolutely gorgeous, and the lazy river offered fun for guests of all ages. One of our favorite features was the waterfall--it created a peaceful ambiance with its calming sound that made it easy to relax and unwind. Beach access was convenient, well maintained, and just steps away. The breathtaking views gave us the perfect opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy some much-needed time together. A special thank you goes to the staff at Riptides. We highly recommend having breakfast there! Raelynn and Crystal both went above and beyond to make every meal enjoyable. Crystal provided outstanding service and was warm, personable, and attentive throughout our visit. During one lunch, a storm rolled in unexpectedly, and Raelynn made sure we stayed dry, helped us get settled, and quite literally saved our lunch date. Her kindness and quick thinking didn't go unnoticed. We also have to recognize Joe and Diego at the Tiki Bar. These two are true masters of their craft. They were friendly, engaging, and consistently made outstanding cocktails that kept us coming back throughout our stay. We even took advantage of the hot tub and fitness center to start each day refreshed. But as parents, we discovered something important: you go into a vacation thinking you'll pack every minute with activities, when in reality, the greatest memories come from slowing down. There are two hotel brands within Marriott Bonvoy portfolio that have largely been forgotten. They…read moreare Sheraton and Four Points. It's a bit of a miracle they still somehow exist. After all, nearly all of them are in a state of despair, often located in buildings from the 60s and 70s that have been neglected for decades. It's frankly a bit of a sad brand story. The Four Points brand was born in 1995 and largely remained in that time since. Yet, this Four Points in Ft Walton did get some attention. The property just finished up a renovation in 2024 and many elements of the hotel are now looking much better. There is fresh furniture in the rooms, a revamped lobby and a decent pool area. There isn't much change to the depressing exterior design. There are smaller things like paint on the balcony that was not redone and thus continues to peel as you lean to take in the ocean views. It's as budget as budget renovations get, but it's still nice to see things get refreshed and the hotel generally looks borderline acceptable at a 3 star level. The upside is that the resort is actually vast, covering large grounds, with beautiful landscaping of flowers and palm trees. There is a bit of that old Florida motel vibe to the whole place and one could say, it's a bit romantic. When it comes to status recognition, the hotel really stands out. There was an amazing upgrade to an ocean front room, despite the hotel being at near full occupancy. There was late checkout. Lastly, breakfast is really solid for a three star properties with different fruit, waffle makers, potatoes and other classics. As a whole, good for the range where it sits. Thus, Four Points is a now a decent beach property with fresh renovations and status recognition alone might make it a consideration for a return trip if the price is right. It has the basics covered, it's clean and while it might be an eyesore looking at it from the beach, the views of the oceanfront balcony are spectacular.

Dupree has always had a great event, have never had problems with that. What we experienced was the convention center would not allow any outside food in for anyone. I would expect that from spectators, but not from the kids preforming and attending the workshops. Our kids spent most of the day there, over several consecutive days. There was piles of food and snacks from the kids attending this event. The reason we were told this is the food services here has a contract to provide food and drinks for the entire convention center. That's great but there was one single counted for hundreds of kids who only had minutes between classes/costume changes to grab something to eat. No time to stand in long lines. On top of that my kids have severe food allergies and the food services here had no lists of allergens found in the food they provide(pretty sure there is a FDA regulation about that). They still would not allow us to bring in food for our kid that was safe for them to eat. What our kids were going to bring in was just some fresh vegetables and Gold Fish crackers, these items were not available for purchase here. The convention place is clean, comfortable and kept up. I have never been treated like this before. People being searched for any scrap of food, no one looking for anything threatening like weapons. I have seen criminals treated better for wanting something to eat. This review is more for the food services and the convention policies here. The food services had very limited selections available which was very disappointing. When some of the kids went to get something to eat, all they had left was chips and candy. I hope Dupree never uses this facility again. I would not come here again. Something that is kind of infuriating is they don't want these kids bringing in outside food or drink but the food services worker has a gas station pop that she is sipping on and when I asked her she told me why would she pay $3 for a pop when she can get a bigger size for half the price somewhere else. WTF

DJ was hit or miss but not bad. I stayed for maybe a total of 30 minutes after buying a drink and asked the manager and the promoter for my money back and both refused. Said they had to pay their DJ. Sure, makes sense but most of those people weren't going to ask for their money back because they either didn't pay or they looked like they were on some shit. Will never go back there or anywhere that guy try's to throw a party.
