Kevin might be the rudest human being I have ever interacted with. I seriously don't understand how you guys have him in charge. I went to order my coffee and asked for a coffee light with skim milk and a pump of caramel. Kevin looks at me and goes "what?", so I repeated myself. He begins to rudely tell me that that's not how you order coffee and that if I wanted more skim milk I should have asked for extra skim milk. I told him that I worked in a cafe and that's how people ordered it. He continues arguing with me so I left and didn't get anything. I don't understand why he had to take a regular normal interaction and just escalate it for no reason. I work in customer service too and if I ever spoke to a customer like he did and started arguing with them over nothing to the point where they leave I would have been fired. My friends were there and ordered food and coffee that took forever to come out. He needs to fix his attitude and how he runs his staff. I'll go to Batch and Seven Brew instead!! read more

If you have an allergy stay far far away from this location. They're dishonest and half the staff (I suspect the more senior) are unpleasant. I came in and asked if they were too busy to run a frappuccino pitcher through the sanitizer (I would never asked if they were slammed). The dark haired woman said they weren't but they couldn't guarantee it would be 100% allergen free, and I said I understood. I thought she grabbed the pitcher and went to the back. Maybe she just went to the back. The scowling man making the drink (giant forearm infinity tattoo) seemed irritated I tried to speak to him. I told him the woman had taken a pitcher back to be sanitized for the soy drink. He acknowledged me but not much more. Then when he went to make my drink he took a pitcher from the front went to the back for maybe 30 seconds and came back out. I asked if that was the pitcher that had been run through the sanitizer. He said he sanitized it. So I asked the lady who I thought had done it and she said he took it back and sanitized it. I had to specifically ask was it run through the sanitizer, the thing that gets hot, for them to admit they hadn't and she had forgotten. There were so many ways they could have handled it. I would have happily waited or taken a refund, but they decided my allergy was less important than 5 minutes of waiting and admitting they made a mistake. They're playing semantic games with your health. Avoid at all costs. I would never trust them to make a drink. I just left. This was around 3:40 today. Also, the curly haired man who took my order was lovely and when I arrived there was 1 order for pick up and only 4 people, all at one table, in the store. Fyi I used to work at sbux. The sanitizer is basically like a hot soap-less dishwasher. read more

Location is clean. Staff is friendly and personable and above all PATIENT, which ii greatly appreciated as we all slowly return to society and our normal routines. If you get stabbed in here, you might end up with a Scarbucks. So be careful, yo. Pretty decent Starbucks in Vestal, and there's not a lot of other options around here, except for boba shops (mm). I like the boba shops in this area more than I expected, and that goes for a couple of the other nearby Boba shops too. I'm not a fan of Starbucks drinks, and prices are horrendous. Service here is okay but not particularly great, then again I don't really find that Starbucks has particularly great service too often - maybe I'm in the minority thinking that, but that's my opinion. read more

I was happy to see this location reopen after being closed for about 3 months for "remodeling". There is still a lot of major construction going on in front of the store making it challenging to even find your way into the parking lot. I had placed a mobile order through the app and was hoping to find it waiting for me on the counter so I could be on my way without having to interact with anyone because I was in a hurry. Instead, I found all the drinks on the counter turned inward so I couldn't look for my name. I was confronted by an employee wielding an iPad who launched an interrogation. She loudly asked me my name and what I ordered. My drink wasn't ready, but she did find it in the iPad and asked another employee to remake it because she thought it was picked up at the drive-thru. It took 7 extra minutes before I received my drink. Maybe some people enjoy hanging the personal experience and interaction in order to get their morning coffee, but I'm used to grabbing it and being on my way. It did feel like what I imagine an interrogation would feel like. Having to prove that I did in fact order said drink. As for the new "decor" I would call it stark and minimalist. It has op open design with hard cafeteria style seating. It seemed louder and definitely didn't send a message that they welcomed anyone to linger very long or try to work from a laptop. I'm hoping that the other locations don't go the same route with their remodeling. I like the coffee, but prefer to just grab it and go. The drinks and service here is going downhill. I order ahead almost everyday on my way to work. The drinks are never ready at the time it said it will be ready. I've been having to wait an extra 10-15 min every morning.I understand that they get busy in the morning. If that's the case they should get more workers to work the mobile order in the morning. I've gone to work late multiple times because of this issue. Like today it said my drink was going to be ready at 8:44am it wasn't ready until 9:03am. Also Starbucks has this new thing where instead of grabbing your own straw at the counter. You have to as the barista for a straw. Which I think is the dumbest idea ever. This place is very clean and had a very friendly staff. Bathroom wasn't super clean and neither were the tables where we sat, but the coffee and food prep areas seemed very clean. I've been coming here for about 3 years now because I think the actual Starbucks is 10x better than the one on campus. I really like the service they provide here. They are fast and calm despite the heavy traffic from students everyday. The remodel on this store is pretty. The revamped service model is terrible. I don't often have much to say that is negative, but this is crazy!! If you don't order 'online' you can expect to wait 'in line' for 20-30 minutes for a cup of coffee. Three orders were lost while I stood there, including mine. The chaos was so obvious several customers commented about how it made them anxious. Everyone seemed to be in charge of their own little workspace and no one was in charge of anyone. One woman stood on the customers side of the counter with an iPad, serving no clear purpose. She couldn't track orders, just organized them in alpha order once they were handed to her?? There was absolutely no personal service. What is happening to Starbucks? I believe they have adopted a coffee 'mill' approach to service. I think I will be supporting smaller, more personal coffee shops from now on. That was probably my last Starbucks. I will drink it slowly. read more

I am a big fan of this Starbucks. Whenever I am visiting Binghamton I find myself stopping here for a coffee whether it's the drive thru or to come inside, grab a table and do work for a few hours. Their coffee is consistent as is their service, people in Binghamton are so friendly it really makes a difference. I came here really late the other night while traveling, around 900. I needed to plug in and get some work done and I couldn't find a coffee shop that was open past 10 besides this one, they were open until 1030. People in a college town, I was hoping there would be. a coffee shop opened later, until midnight maybe, especially considering the close proximity to the Binghamton campus but this was it. When I came in around 900 there were several tables occupied, almost all of them actually. There were only spots alongside the wall in the front but there were outlets and they had WIFI so that was where I posted up. They also had seating outside on their little patio and I was tempted to go out there. I loved that they had this and their WIFI was accessible out there. They had some tables and chairs, definitely not the most scenic spot overlooking Vestal, but if you want to soak up what's left of the good weather, it's a good option to have here. I stayed until closing time getting work done and the staff gave me a friendly heads up they were closing in five minutes. I'd definitely recommend coming here to meet with friends, get some solo studying or work done or just to grab a coffee or snack and go. read more

This is my go-to Starbucks as it's on my way to work. I was able to go straight up to the counter and order, every barista looked miserable and the woman who took my order was borderline rude. Whatever, everyone has their off days. About 10 minutes pass and my drinks are nowhere to be seen. I understand there's a drive through but there was no one in front of us inside the store and this is the kicker: as I mention this to my boyfriend, a gentleman walks in and from the interaction with the staff I gathered that he, John, works there. I see the barista who I thought was making my drink, drop everything and make this guy's drink. Now I'm angry and start voicing this to my boyfriend. She must of heard me because she picked up my drink, finishes it and puts mine and John's drink up on the counter. The problem is, I ordered 2 drinks and my boyfriend had to wait some more. Is the University Plaza Starbucks open or closed? It's a daily game you are likely to lose. Most mornings they're closed, but not all mornings. Sometimes they are closed all day and sometimes they open around noon. Is the staff stricken with COVID? Are they remodeling? I can understand those reasons but PLEASE POST THE CURRENT HOURS ONLINE. There is an app, a website, and other media. Just update the hours there so there's no guessing if you're open or not that day. There are no answers from Starbucks except every so often a piece of paper taped to the door that you cannot see or read unless you stop and park in front and get out to read it. It's easier to assume that they are always closed and to avoid this store. read more

Whoever the Barista/Drive-Threw attendants were messed up our order, and then refused to remake it. They also gave us drinks without lids, and were very rude over all. Also, another women at the Drive-Threw window mentioned its nice that with Covid they can get away with saying such things. What can I say. It's a Starbucks. Lots of high priced fancy coffee drinks but I just get the regular coffee. A little more than Dunkin Donuts and more than a little more than the gas station, but the coffee is pretty good and the service is very friendly so I keep coming back. Yes it may be a Starbucks, but it is also a welcoming spot that friends and family gather often. The staff is always accommodating and friendly. If you want a cup of water, no problem you can easily get one. I've been a customer from day one- staff comes and go but they are always friendly and the manager is an awesome guy! Love this place. This is a pretty decent Starbucks. The drive thru is quick and they have always filled my order correctly. The employees are convincingly friendly (in contrast to the Dunkin' Donuts employees who never look happy) and polite. Coffee is as expected and I've had occasion to try some of their breakfast fare (egg bites) and sandwiches, all of which were surprisingly good. The inside is also as would be expected for a Starbucks, not a bad place to get a little work done, although all Starbucks are kind of noisy. Solid coffee place close to the university. read more

I use the drive thru once a week when I'm in Bingo, and it moves quickly. The baristas are genuinely pleasant to talk to, and my order always comes out right. I like using the short drive right off the parkway to avoid navigating the UP parking lot. While I don't chose this location to sit and work, it is my top choice for coffee on-the-go. read more
