Unprofessional, Unapproachable, and Utterly Disappointing To be fair, this is not speaking about all of the staff members. However, our experience at this Starbucks location was nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, a few of the staff members demonstrated a level of unprofessionalism and unapproachability. When we attempted to place our order we were met with unnecessary scrutiny and questioning. The barista Miss Kobe, questioned every detail of the request as if we were asking for something outrageous and not self explanatory. It wasn't a complicated order, but the way we were approached made it feel we were inconveniencing them. Since when does ordering neccessitate a full-blown interrogation? What really sealed the deal on this terrible experience was the complete lack of basic customer service. When I asked a simple question about their services and the bathroom code, I was met with silence. The staff's unapproachable demeanor made it clear that the service is not a job priority. The worst part of the visit was an employee named Miss Kobe. Instead of handling a minor issue with professionalism, Miss Kobe chose to escalate the situation into an argument. This persons tone was confrontational, and attitude, poor for a customer-facing role. While traveling I've been to many Starbucks locations, and this one stands out as now the most unprofessional and unwelcoming by a mile. At first polite, then watch out, the staff here can be rude, unapproachable, and clearly more than a few are not trained to handle even the simplest of customer interactions. Now this is not speaking about all of the staff members just those select few. Starbucks corporate needs to seriously reevaluate the behavior and training of employees like these before more customers like me start taking their business elsewhere whether it's to BigFoot, Gravity Coffee, or any other coffee shop that actually values its customers. First time customer at this Starbucks location. Ordered my usual Grande Caramel Frappuccino with No Whip. After about 5 minutes, received my drink. But when I tasted it, had some odd flavor to it. Not exactly sure what it was, but tasted like medicine, similar to Robitussin! Took a couple of sips to ensure that it wasn't just me and told the barista that it tasted weird and nothing like caramel. So, he made a completely new one for me, which was much better. Don't know how it happened the first time, but at least they rectified the wrong to make me a new drink, which I was satisfied with. Wonder what made it taste like that in the first place. Too consecutive trips to this Starbucks and both times there was error. First trip they were understaffed and I spent several minutes waiting at the register. I work in Tacoma so I rotate between the Bonney Lake Starbucks and the River Road store. All I would like to relay is to teach proper common courtesy with the employees. On Saturday morning 2/17 I pulled up at approx 5:40 am. Everything was lit up (the order area in the drive up) so I was ready to order. I figured the store opened at 5:30 since it was lit up. Nobody responded so I pulled up to the window. The employee inside was walking around. She looked over at me twice as I sat at the window. After I had to knock on the metal shelf at the drive up window, she yelled at the window "we're not open." Maybe don't have the drive through lit up prior to opening? And let employees know out of courtesy to simply come on the speaker and say you are not open yet? read more

All door signs said it was open until 7:00pm (and online). I was working (and drinking coffee) and was told at 4:50 they were closing the lobby in 10 minutes. I was in the middle of a zoom call that was scheduled until 6, so I had to go sit in my freezing car to finish the call- infuriating! If you're planning to go here for work, don't. I work digitally, so I work from coffee shops all the time- this location is not reliable for hours of operation- which leaves potential for those of us who work online to lose income. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato , they gave me a half cup of caramel drizzle and i asked for a remake, the girl at the window and i'm assuming the lady who was the manager gave me a weird look and told me to pull around so i did, 15 mins later i still never got my drink, i didn't walk out because i wanted to see how long they would take to get it out to me. This is my usual Starbucks which I normally go to the drive thru, but today, my fiance and I went inside and ordered a tea and two breakfast sandwiches. Mind you, when I asked if they carried a GF breakfast sandwich, I got the RUDEST glare from a gal behind the bar. Anyway, as we were waiting for our order, the hand out the tea and shortly after one of the two sandwiches. About 15 minutes later, we still didn't have the second sandwich -- the gal at the end of the line went to check on it without needing our prompt -- well the guy, Zan, manning the toaster oven, immediately started barking at her, raising his voice and frantically delivering really defensive remarks, which the situation didn't warrant at all. I come here a lot. Finally getting to a review. Location is always hectic off a busy highway and access to enter parking has its challenges. The staff is always friendly even on their busiest days. They have standard tables and chairs to relax in so you can chat, get on the free WiFi or just stare out the windows in daze. Its usually cleaner inside then on this particular day far as the floor definitely needing to be sweeped, but I'm sure they'll get to it soon. Music is mellow and happy to say not obnoxious in loudness...except one really loud patron whom everyone is wondering where her inside voice is....geez. I enjoy plenty of things on the Starbucks menu, especially their breakfast sandwiches. I just hate when the bacon is basically not cooked. I don't like my bacon chewy, I like it crunchy. Next time I'll request it cooked longer and hopefully they can do that. I have seriously tried to give this location multiple chances, but after this morning I'm done. I regularly use my app to mobile order and I have never had issues with ANY other Starbucks. 3 times I have arrived and my drink was not done. I drive into work at 4 am and typically submit my order when I get on 410 in Sumner. This morning when I arrived at 4:22 the barista grabbed a cup right as I was pulling up. When I walk in the door she says "your order literally just printed." Riiiiiight. So I get my coffee and the printed sticker says 4:16. So my order sat there for over 5 minutes without being noticed. There was no line in the drive thru and no one else in the lobby. I probably wouldn't have been AS pissed if the barista didn't try to bullshit me. The time before that I ordered from this location, same scenario. I walk in and say "is this the 303 Meridian Starbucks?" They say yes. I say "I had a mobile order" ... oh yeah. It was half made just sitting there waiting for someone to finish. The barista never apologized and was not the least bit kind. What I love about any Starbucks is consistency. If you are going to be a giant corporation with millions upon millions of stores, keep it consistent across the board. Especially with friendly staff and service. I've been to airport kiosks, various stores within the US (FT. Meyers, FL, numerous cities in CA and Oregon, and of course up and down Western Washington). I have never once received horrible service, nor was told that something was out. Perhaps having to hunt down codes to get early access for a PSL (that was very frustrating) and long drive thru lines are the things that bother me most, but there is always another way like begging and turning on the "Mae Charm" to get what I want or just walking in and ordering my coffee instead of waiting in the drive thru line. Anyway, this Starbucks has been my stop to work when I only have monies in my Starbucks card or when I'm headed south on River Road. Every staff member I have ever encountered here has been nothing but nice and accommodating. With plenty of seating options in the cafe or outdoor seating when the sun decides to show up, it's a nice place to meet up with friends or write yelp reviews in the corner (what I am doing right now :)). I truly wished that Starbucks would have specialty bakeries that are featured locally rather than another large company, but I guess that's why smaller coffee shops are unique and what I love about having options! Just don't ever run out of CHONGA (Cheddar, Onion, Garlic) bagel. Also, if you are looking for something new to drink, please try out their flat white with the ristretto shots (its a shorter shot with the sweet notes of the espresso before the burnt coffee taste comes is what I was told). With that, you now have a new drink to try, know what CHONGA really means and that if you are in this area you should come to this Starbucks because you know it's going to be a nice experience like any other star bucks (well, like the ones i've been to anyway). read more

This was my first visit here having gone to numerous other places locally to not only build up my confidence with a great haircut but have fruitful conversation, which is part of the all encompassing experience I demand from my stylist. I will never go anywhere else now, I found my home and my stylist. I ordered a sweet cream cold brew with the sweet cream stirred in and extra foam added to the top and they made it wrong. When I politely told them that my drink was supposed to have foam added to it they charged me extra to fix it (literally charged my card twice). 1.80 for some foam on top seems a little excessive especially since my order not being made properly is kind of an inconvenience. If you're going to have posted hours for customers they should be honored. This is my go to store. It is the closest to where I live, and very convenient. Inside seems to clean all the time, and always full. Drinks are usually pretty fast and on point. They have a decent retail side, very typical. Five or six bags of coffee to chose from, and about the same in K-Cups. Not the biggest Starbucks, always seems to feel a little cramped when standing and waiting for your coffee. The Barista have always been very nice, and friendly to me. You'll be treated well, asked if you need anything else and given a delightful experience. When I visit that's how I feel when I leave. I have used the Smart Cut near Fred Meyers regularly for about a year. I had been extremely satisfied with Cathleen's work until the last two times. The time before my last visit, I asked for only a trim. It was before Pay Day and I had to wait for the color. I went in a few weeks later and asked for color, and, for the first time, spoke to her about my disappointment in my hair cut. I showed her where the length was jagged, short in one area, straggling and longer in another. I guess I shouldn't have said anything. I'm paying for it now I told her I didnt want a cut, just the color. I wanted it to have the opportunity to let the cut recover before I had it trimmed again My color is disappointing, nothing like she had done in the past. Terrible work. I will not return or recommend this shop, and more importantly, this stylist again. I travel and use Smart Cuts across the country. I will have to be more careful in the future. read more

I've been to this location on my way to class at all times of the day/days of the week and she has by FAR been the best. I liked coming to this SB because I only live a couple blocks away. A few months ago I noticed they hired quite a few new people, which at this time my experience changed. I kept coming back, in hopes that they would eventually make my coffee correct and I would get someone with good customer service but that wasn't the case and I won't be returning to this location. There is a barista (I won't name) who is extremely ill-mannered and tries to use sarcasm to hide her rude attitude. She is extremely unprofessional with her verbal communication and needs to brush up on her customer service skills. I don't really think any of the new baristas know how to make coffee as 1.
