birthday cake cake pop - no thanks
    Hangr Y.

Are all cake pops raw?! I don't want to bash this location if it's a Starbucks thing but man, I won't be getting another one of these suckers. They are gross. As for the sandwiches and drinks, they are made perfectly and to my likings. The staff at this location are pleasant too and often social (whether it be with you or their friends popping in). This Starbucks also has a drive thru which is convenient. I also like that this location has a community board - I thought that was a nice touch. I'm not going to hinder their rating due to the crappy cake pops only because I have a feeling the food is made elsewhere and shipped in. But honestly, as someone who enjoys baking... I sample the goods before giving to others. I don't know how they miss this on a regular basis. I should add that if this is normal, it's disgusting and I'm not the only one who agrees. http://www.eatandbemerryblog.com/2011/03/starbucks-cake-pop.html

Last Saturday, I was in my car, parked steps away from Zoup! I had placed a dinner order. I looked across the plaza and noticed Paris Baguette (PB). I had visited COBS Bread a couple of hours earlier. Did I need another bakery visit? Yes! I had some time to kill before picking up my dinner. It was raining. I drove over to PB and parked relatively close to the store. I walked in. I felt like I was in heaven. Carb heaven. Where should I start? I got a tray. There were instructions to grab a small piece of paper and lay it on the tray. I got tongs and went to work. I saw palmiers. My mom loves them. I grabbed one with my tongs and broke off a curved section. It was probably a first for me. I ate the broken part and placed the imperfect palmier on my tray. The broken piece was yummy and was perfection. I finally understood why my mom loves palmiers. I hit the croissant section. I got a pain au chocolat, which is probably my favourite type of croissant. I also got a chocolate croissant. A nice, older woman started chatting with me. She was so sweet. She let me know that she frequents this bakery often and loves it. I asked her what items she hasn't had. It was two items, which floored me. She noticed the chausson aux pommes that I had on my tray and said that it was yummy. I got the following items: - Chausson aux pommes - Chocolate croissant - Pineapple brûlée pastry - Palmier - Pastel de nata - Pain au chocolat - Curry croquette The nice woman let me know that Mia, who was the staffer behind the counter, let her know that this bakery has Korean owners. Really? It made sense seeing mochi donuts. We both hit the checkout counter. Mia got her order and said to grab a seat. She'd bring everything to her. This nice woman said that she was shy of being 90 years old. What?! She looked great! I wouldn't have guessed that I was talking to an 89-year-old woman during my entire time here. I hope that when I am her age, I am savouring pastry as often as my new friend. Mia was great. She put all my pastries in a box. She singled out my savoury curry croquette in a paper bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my receipt, thanked her, grabbed my goodies, wished my new friend a wonderful day, and left. There was a Wild game that night. I had a pastry each period. Three pastries in three hours. They were delicious! I will say that the ones with fresh fruit were the most expensive, just over $6. They were worth it. The chausson aux pommes had the best apple filling. It was flaky and delicious. I absolutely devoured the pineapple brûlée pastry. The pineapple chunks were set in custard and were so naturally sweet. This pastry was superb. The pain au chocolat continues to be my favourite croissant. It was flaky and had the best chocolate in every bite. So good! I had the chocolate croissant and loved it. It was fresh, flaky, and soft. The chocolate drizzle had the right amount of chocolate with the buttery croissant. I was extremely happy with my pastel de nata. The custard had a hint of sweetness. The base of flaky. It could have been torched on top more, but I'd get half a dozen next time. I didn't know what to expect with the curry croquette. It was delicious. It had a crispy exterior, crusted with a mix of white and black sesame seeds. The curry filling was full of good flavour. It had veggies in it. The corn and carrot combination worked nicely. I raved about this place to my friend at work today. There's one at Heartland in Mississauga, which is perfect for us to do a run after work. I had an excellent experience. It was nice meeting a passionate pastry lover while getting her take on what she loves. Everything that I consumed was excellent. I hope to get a drink next time and perhaps sit down to enjoy it. I'll be back. (117)

For years, my go-to Starbucks in Newmarket with a drive-thru was on the southwest corner of Leslie…read moreand Gorham. At first, customer service was great. It has deteriorated over the years. I haven't been back there for a while, mainly because I haven't visited Newmarket in what feels like ages. I broke that streak today. After having lunch at Sunset Grill, I did a tour of the plaza to see what businesses and eateries were around. I then noticed new stores across Strigley Street. I saw this Starbucks. Even though I still had an iced black tea with me, I decided to give this drive-thru a whirl. I like how new Starbucks drive-thrus are designed these days. The lanes are wider. You have a decent set of menus. The speakers when you place your order are crisp and clear. I pulled up and asked whether dark chocolate peanut butter cups were available. I had a friendly barista check. She said yes and asked if I wanted one package. Yes! I was happy. I pulled around the building and waited for a bit before I got to the window. I paid using my app. The barista was incredibly cheerful. She handed me my chocolate peanut butter goodies and we wished each other a great day. I'm currently eating my chocolate peanut butter cups. They are consistently delicious. It's crazy that this Starbucks is perhaps a one-minute drive away from my old Starbucks hangout. However, if I had a choice, I would return to this one. Next time, I'll go in the cafe and check it out. (3)

Oh the parking is a plenry - is what I would normally say but not here. Basically they are building big buildings in the parking lot and parking is disappearing. You may want to carpool. Decor: Pretty nice. I could decorate my living my room like this. Wood, floor to ceiling windows. It's nice. Well it's also new so there's that's. There's an giant booth along one wall with tables and chairs. Wierdly no big communal table. Also the ceiling is terrible. Its that open one that doesn't dampen sound. Its very loud I here. I don't think they want you to sit and stay, you have to tell to talk to the person accross from you. There's a drive through The Goods: Starbucks. Y'all know what they serve Staff: Everyone is so nice! They greet you when you com in, make recommendations, have samples! Conclusion: This is a nice one. Even if there's not a lot of people it can be loud, but I'll definitely be back!!!
