It's amazing how some young people today seem to believe a job is something owed to them rather than a privilege. I was visiting my grandchildren in beautiful Cape Cod over Christmas, and I was rudely treated by one young man serving coffee. I had ordered a simple black coffee, and when, after waiting some time, inquired when it might be ready, the purple-haired tough glared at me and said: it's gonna be a while. Nothing else. No, sorry, we will have it up in a few minutes. No. It's gonna be a while. The Starbucks I visit near my Brooklyn home has a lovely group of young people who work there and treat me respectfully. Maybe it's just more rewarding at that age to be working at Starbucks in NYC than at Mashpee. I don't know, but I won't be going back here. Every time I have come in service has been prompt, and the staff are pleasant. Today was no different, I had two people ahead of me in line, and turned out 10 drinks ahead of me. After standing for maybe two minutes, all of those drinks were made, and I was being asked what I was still waiting for. Drink was made in maybe another 45 seconds. I don't regularly get coffee outside the house but it's nice to know when I do I can go here and expect a normal and prompt interaction. read more

Covid has sucked for everyone but this Starbucks has been on the ball the whole time. I'm highly impressed with the employees and environment. No matter how picky I feel I'm being about my drinks they tackle all the specifications without thinking twice. Nice place to put a Starbucks in this little village of stores. Mashpee Commons feels like a little village now that there are more stores and every day more going up. It's a good place to stop and have a coffee or a snack as it's in the front end of the Commons and has a breeze as well as some greenery to look at. This place lost a couple of stars because even though there were only a few customers in the store, it took them a really long time to get me my almond milk mocha frap with a shot affogato. I was sitting at a table and wasn't hovering nor paying attention so i don't know what the delay was. The frap was pretty melted and dark so i think they even blended in the shot which i asked for as a pour on top. I think this is a great Starbucks. Pre pandemic I worked in a lot of Starbucks when on the road working. There's been a lot made lately about how Starbucks (at large) has migrated away from their cafe centric model with a lot more emphasis on takeout. Employee sat has gone down, and customer interactions are non existent at some stores....which brings me to my point. This store feels like the old Starbucks. The staff are friendly, they have great energy - it seems there are far fewer staffing issues here as well (Falmouth has to regularly shut down their store and do drive they only, sometimes after you order, it's terrible) It's still great to work from here (I'm here now), AND they manage to still do a great takeout business by the looks of it. Love this Starbucks location. Efficient, friendly Staff that keep things moving. Summer- expect long lines in the mornings and weekends. I prefer to put in a mobile order vs. waiting in line during these times. Works out much better- download the SB app, order on it, and accrue points for free food and drinks. Order ahead is never available on the app. Just waited in line for 20 minutes while listening to the barista complain about the "math" test tomorrow. Looking for a place with limited seating, a long line, a place that's not in a rush and seems busy the live long day, then this Starbucks is for you! As you know Starbucks has a great product and you get an exceptional cup of coffee here but prepared to wait a little longer and feel crowded because that's what I feel like when I'm in this particular coffee shop. They do have some outside door seating if the weather permits but that's not always an option. Staff is friendly and the service is genuine but a little slow. It's a Starbucks. The end. OK, not quite. The staff was friendly, but it seemed understaffed. They were kinda crowded but the baristas moved kinda slow, too. The place was dirty compared to other Starbucks I've gone to. The clientele was stuffier than any other Starbucks I'd been in (I constantly felt I was in someone's way or just not up to their standards). The drinks were standard (They had a mix up with my fiance's order and she ended up waiting longer than she needed to). Try another if you can move down the street a ways. I've been visiting this location for years now. I live down the street and frequently visit on the weekends. The majority of the staff is very friendly, but they often mess up my mobile order and seem to put as little effort as possible into remaking it, so I'm typically disappointed. Went here before work this morning, and I was disappointed with the service. The woman taking my order was very brusque and unfriendly, it took her at least 2-3 minutes to put my order in so I could pay (I only ordered two very basic, small things) and so I just stood there for 3 minutes holding my card, waiting for her to put it in the computer. The store was not busy at the time and there were at least four other people behind the counter. But she ignored me and continued to fill other orders. I will say, she probably had to fill these orders herself because the four other girls behind the counter were going slower than molasses. There was no line when I walked in but after I ordered, I turned and noticed a line wrapped around the store. And these girls had no sense of urgency, instead they talked to their friends while their manager ran around trying to fill orders. I don't blame her for being short with me, if I had to work with these girls I'd be at the end of my rope too. read more

Coming from Seattle I was happy to find a Starbucks (not sure what I was expecting since Dunkin Donuts is a staple in MA). I ordered an iced soy latte and got mostly iced soy milk with a mild coffee aftertaste. My husband got an iced Americano which was either old coffee or burnt. What a waste of money. read more

I study here often, and today I knocked my coffee off my table and split it (it was almost gone so there wasn't much left in it), and the barista asked me what it was and made me a new one!! Staff here has always been lovely, and I've been frequenting this location off and on for over a decade. One thing that really knocks my rating down is the lack of changing table in their restrooms. I went in with my newborn and had to change him on his changing pad on the floor, which meant me kneeling down there as well. Then I had to put the changing pad in a bag and could not use it again until I was able to disinfect it. In a coffee shop in a touristy place like Mashpee Commons, there really should be accommodations for customers with babies. read more

The Starbucks at Mashpee Commons delivers on all the points except one and that seems to have something to do the the Twilight Zone Factor (TZF). The final gulp of coffee lands me a mouthful of coffee grounds more often then not. I've even acquired the habit of saying: any coffee as long as it's a new batch. Last time I visited, that admonition failed me. For me, it's an important business to have at the Commons so consider this a whisper and keep it secret. read more

Went in Sunday morning, 2July. Place was quite busy however orders at registers were moving quickly. I ordered 3 coffees & a breakfast sandwich. I waited 40 minutes for ONE breakfast sandwich. Was told after complaining several times in a mass of people that there was a backup for food. My order finally appeared (ham & cheese croissant) and it was wrong. Absurd. Not all people have a knack for barista but Una sure has a talent for it! She is on top of the cleanliness standards, makes sure that the whole floor is stocked and created a friendly inviting store. This is the first negative review I have ever given to any establishment. This Starbucks just does not live up to the usually good service Starbucks is noted for. Some of their employees are excellent, but others are simply rude, ignore customers, and refuse to go the extra mile for (formerly) regular customers like me. I say "formerly" because I will be giving my future business to Starbucks in nearby locations or D D's. I simply refuse to pay expensive prices for bad and indifferent service. Hello. I am a 63 year old woman who LOVES coffee. While shopping yesterday, I stopped in for a medium Blonde coffee. The waiter asked me if I wanted to leave room in the cup for milk. I told her to please leave plenty of room as I used skim milk and I liked it light. She then asked me if it would be about 2 inches. I was puzzled and she held up two fingers and asked if that was about right. I told her yes. I was then charged an extra $.60 for the extra milk. I was very surprised (shocked actually) and asked for an explanation. I was told that quite a few people drink a lot of milk in their coffee and they had to charge for the milk. I am still in shock over this. In my 63 years I have never encountered this. Dunkin Donuts and Mary Lou's Coffee have never charged for extra light coffee. Unfortunately as much as I love Starbucks, they have lost a loyal customer. Thank you for allowing me to get this off my chest. Although I was told each Starbucks was independently owned, I wanted corporate to know about this incident. read more
