Tall Cold Brew - nitro with sweet cream
    Gil E.

This store has had its ups and downs over the years but whatever they're doing currently is wonderful. Visited recently and the barista's were super nice, The restaurant was clean, the service fast. There's normally a line of cars outside, so I tend to park and go inside. This particular visit I was with my grandchildren who love to get a steam milk (which we call a baby latte) and one of the cake pops? It's a cake and icing covered treat on a stick like a lollipop. The youngest had his fall off the stick after only one small bite. I went inside to buy another and the person behind the counter just gave me one. This is indicative of the service that we have found at this particular Starbucks, and one of the reasons we go back on an almost weekly basis.

This is our closest starbucks besides the Publix one but this is the best one nearby. The line is always long so the wait can kinda suck for drive through but if you just park you'll be in and out way faster. Normally, I do mobile order and go inside to pick up and it's all super fast. I almost always get a salted caramel cold foam cold brew but sometimes I'll mix it up with something else. This location is always solid. They never do anything unexpected to my drinks and always give me whatever concoction I've added via the app without any issues. They also have cups and merch on sale all the time so you can typically get some cool stuff for not a bad price. And then make sure you have rewards so you can get free drinks or merch especially when they have additional bonus points for whatever challenge.

Other locations have no issues steaming passion tea lemonade.

$5 tip added to drive through order for one coffee. I returned and complained and was given a $5 cash refund for the "mistake".

It's nice to have a location over here that isn't in Publix, the Publix one never follows the hours listed in store and online.

Mizizi stands for the root of the plant in Swahili. Their espresso is called Kibo and offered in both caf/decaf options and hails from the Ethiopian highlands. I was delighted by a tasty double shot and followed that up with a late. Nicole had a late as well. We also ordered an almond and chocolate croissant. I've probably driven by Mizizi a dozen times, not noticing it's there. Hidden off the side of the road, in a small strip. It's that easy to miss. It's definitely a local type of place. When we visited on a Saturday at noon, there were just a few high schoolers studying. Our barista was friendly and made our drinks quickly and even offered to heat up our pastries, which we took her up on. It was a cute place to hang out with bar style chairs at the window sill and a chess set ready to play on top of the window counter top. We seated ourselves in the comfy booths while we savored our food. I asked if they had any savory pastries to which the answer was no, just sweet. The espresso tasted sweet not bitter and seemed to be well dialed in. I liked visiting Mizizi and would definitely swing by again if I happened to be in the neighborhood.

I've said for a long time that "America runs on bad coffee"...pun intended. This shop, and a select few like it, are trying to change that. Before you balk at the higher prices take the time to understand that: 1. Specialty Coffee prices are not primarily set by shops like this one. The high price comes from the very complex international coffee market. 2. These coffees are truly in another category. Comparing this to Starbucks would be like comparing an old, beat up, Ford Escort to an untouched Bugatti right off the assembly line. 3. If it weren't for shops like Belux, you wouldn't have access to the "Louis Vuittons" of coffee. So thank them. For the Bourbon bro, treat it like that elusive high end bourbon that you've been searching for just sitting on a shelf at your local store at MSRP. And for the wine enthusiast - like that exclusive Red that would make even the best of sommeliers blush. I dare you to purchase a more expensive pour over, don't put any cream or sugar in it, sit in the shop, slow down, and enjoy the experience. You'll be glad you did.

I got the matcha latte and an iced latte with vanilla. The matcha was whisked which I absolutely love. I did get it with vanilla but it was definitely on the sweeter side. The iced latte though was so good and the coffee was strong! I liked this space but definitely on the pricier side for a smaller sized matcha latte. Overall, I liked the ambiance and will be back to try the desserts.

The cafe has a very homey atmosphere, with the ordering counter being right in front when you walk in. I took a look at the seasonal menu and ordered the gingerbread cortado. While our drinks were being made, we decided to explore the shop. There was one more room in the back that's ducked off from the rest of the cafe, giving a more cozy and intimate vibe. Since there was already a good amount of people, there were no empty tables for my friend and I to sit at. It took about 10 minutes for both of our drinks to be ready, which isn't a long wait. Upon initially trying my drink, I hated it. The orange flavor in the drink caught me off guard, the nutmeg gave it a spicy element, and there was a strong espresso taste coming through. After some time, I got used to the taste and it wasn't as shocking to my palette, but I personally don't prefer cortado coffee drinks. If I'm back in the area I would definitely stop here, but I'd probably order a drink I'm more familiar with.

We spent a good amount there trying to get some school work and business done remotely; the staff was very kind and would offer to refill our coffee/drinks even if it was for a small refill price. Pastries were yummy, espresso and matcha drinks are excellent so that's a win! Downside is the parking; if you can find a spot up on the little hill, great but it is a little tight. They do offer additional parking behind the business and a walking path that connects to the shop. Seating, like any popular coffee shop, can be hard to find but there are beautiful spots outside to enjoy. Overall, very nice experience and definitely worth the stopping by and supporting a local business if you are in the area.
