So my review here isn't really for the coffee/food, I think at this point nearly everyone has been to a Starbucks and everyone has their own opinions on their coffee and prices and whatnot. Anyway, my review here is for the consistent and fantastic customer service. I come to this Starbucks about 3 times a week and the food and drinks have always been made quickly. Baristas are friendly and accommodating and have given me free drinks on occasion when they felt that I was waiting too long! Ordered online and came in, my drink was ready but it was more sweet than usual. So I thought it'd be worth a try to ask for another shot. And I waited and waited and waited, I said excuse me twice when the barista placed a drink for others and she looked right at me and didn't respond. Once i finally got her attention she said in a disrespectful tone, "What do you want?" and I politely asked for another shot because it was too sweet. She started to walk away and shaking her head saying "I'm going to have to charge you. It's supposed to be sweet." and went off. I just stood there unsure what to do and was dumbfounded. I left and went to the starbucks on Genesee Avenue where a barista happily fixed up my drink. Ended up giving it to someone else anyway because just looking at it annoyed me. read more

Definitely not a good place to study. Somehow the setup of the chairs is such that you don't have enough space to. It's usually pretty cold too. There are some outdoor chairs but they're so close to each other that if someone's smoking or has perfume on, forget about it. Customer service awful - just because I didn't loudly proclaim that I was READY TO ORDER NOW last Sunday morning, 'Gwenith' had to make a huge deal out of first ignoring me and then asking OH, DID YOU WANT TO ORDER SOMETHING NOW? and then was a bitch throughout the whole ordering/cashiering process. Greed in action! Great folks work here. Great efficiency. I feel bad that I have to report to the world a goodwill faux pas. After paying for the oatmeal and judging it too thick for my taste, I asked for a little extra milk. THEY CHARGED ME FOR IT!! Convenient location but staff is a hit or miss and therefore so is the coffee. I usually get a cold brew, what could go wrong? All you do is pour it out of a fountain but it's strength isn't consistent. I've also seen a barista run out of cold brew mid pour and instead of making it right she just filled the cup up with more than half ice. read more

Usually I have fair, friendly service here. Unfortunately, I don't consider charging a customer more for soy milk when she wants just a splash in her coffee as fair when a vente latté with soy would be the same charge on the milk. ? This only happen one other time, at an airport in London. Seems inconsistent with the company's uniform policies and drinks. read more

Just like any other Starbucks... This place is frequented by local business men and women as well as students from the nearby UCSD. Indoor seats are sometimes hard to come by, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. Parking may be a little difficult with paid parking on weekdays from 7:30am-5:30pm. However if you validate, you can get an hour free. The parking is also limited as it is shared with several other businesses. Overall, great place to study if you find seating and parking. read more

Nice local Starbucks in UTC area right across from the mall and right below the apartment complex costa verde towers. Even when it's busy the staff is all smiles and has you in and out. There was a decently long line but they had me in and out no problem. Even had old fashioned donuts to taste test. This Starbucks I spend a lot of time in studying. It's pretty loud, but you can get some work done with headphones. The seating is pretty limited, especially if you need an outlet. I always get iced black tea when I study for a few hours because they do unlimited refills for green/gold members - $2.95 for unlimited caffeine and a study spot is pretty nice. Overall, I would come back (and pretty much do about once a month haha). read more

I'm surprised I haven't written a review for this place yet. Anyhow, Harrison is the guy who makes the best and most consistent drinks (I know that because my sister makes really weird customized orders and he's the only one who gets it right). The staff is SUPER friendly, probably the friendliest in La Jolla. There are 3 other Starbucks within walking distance, but I always choose to come here. The place itself is not conducive to studying because it has very limited seating and outlets. Parking is kind of a hassle too, because you have to go into a gated lot and get validated to get 90 minutes of parking for free. Thank goodness I walk here... read more

Honestly every time I come in I never once get greeted, they all have mean looks on their face and the girl who has the blonde curly hair in a bun always rolls her eyes when I come in. This morning when I came in the same thing happened. I don't know why it surprises me every time it happens, maybe because I work in the food industry and as a barista and I was trained better then to ignore the guest when they come in or be rude to them. I'm not the first person who has complained to me about this particular Starbucks either. Great customer service and great coffee. They have a special machine for their specialty brews. Parking can be difficult, but I definitely love coming here for breaks and lunch. They just remodeled so it looks hip. Definitely our cup of tea. And coffee. read more

Terrible customer service! We waited for over 10 minutes before my husband went to ask about his drink. The lady behind the counter stated that someone must have taken his drink. We had to wait an additional 15 minutes to get my husband's drink. Also, I asked for extra dragon fruit, which I did not receive. I will not be back to this Starbucks. read more

I am a loyal Starbucks customer, but I avoid this location. It is conveniently located in the business park and has a line to the door most mornings. Starbucks lines don't bother me. What bothers me is this location's slow pace and inability to make correct drinks. In the past year I have been there on various occasions, at different shifts. The staff is extremely friendly. However, with such a busy store, the staff cannot afford to take their time making drinks and on top of that, mess them up. It isn't only my drinks either, I've been third in line to get a drink corrected before. And this is not because we grabbed someone else's drinks. Our names were written clearly. I had a friend actually call and complain one time. Yikes. You aren't far from the Villa La Jolla and Genesee Starbucks, so I'd recommend those locations. read more

pros: - i live a 2 minute walk away - free/strong wifi - it's starbux cons: - very small - difficult to find open tables - okay for reading/studying if you're a one or two some. any bigger, there's the option of sitting at a table outside - music is very loud this is my first time coming to this starbux to do work. in the future, i'll probably drive a bit farther to find a more spacious location. read more

This SBs has zero election outlets... Well, OK, there is one table that has plugs. Plenty of outdoor seating, but you are probably out of luck if you wanted to get some work done and need air conditioning in a heat wave while you drink your frozen latte. It and you will be melting outside. The indoor seating arrangements are awkward and the displays of cheesy purchase items take precedence over the whole center of the room. read more

Omg worst starbucks ever unless I went on a bad day but I highly doubt it. I really think the person making my LEMONADE was either a rookie or the lamest excuse for a Barista ever. I saw her looking at directions on how to put together a lemonade-tea. Uh hello? Mix lemonade and tea in same cup then shake! Are you friggin serious? Great little place to study! Most of the time it's not too hard to find seating. They have a bunch of outside seating if all the seats inside are taken. I've been a loyal customer for longer than I'd like to admit. Coffee addiction is a problem! Customer service is on par with all the other Starbuck's I've been to. I go here before I go back home on weekends over the one at Costa Verde plaza since this one is more "on-the-way". Spacious and staffs are friendly (depends on when you go I guess?). I guess being the nighttime goer, I don't experience the whole line issues and whatnot. Maybe more chairs to accommodate for extra leftover spaces. This Starbucks is downstairs from my job and I love how fast they are ! Whenever I see a lot of people in there it never makes me think twice about walking in because I know I will literally be in and out in less than 5 minutes. This Starbucks is a bit of a sleeper. But the crew, led often by Andrew, is smart, polite and (as is always the case for this job) hard-working. Recommend the pour-over Rwanda, or other exotic single-origin, for an extra buck. The 'Clover' system they use makes the wait just an extra minute or so, and good people-watching at this store while waiting. Waaay better customer focus than, for instance, the Garnet PB Starbucks. read more

This is my favorite starbucks near campus. The one in Costa has barely any outlets, and the one near Ralphs is always too busy. I think undergrads forget about this one because its tucked away in Regents Court. It has a lot of tables and almost an outlet for every chair. And the workers here are the nicest! read more

I like the store and the location. Plenty of outdoor seating, nice and clean inside. My drink was made correctly and tasted fine. My issue however is that it is paid parking. You can get validated for one hour but after that it's a dollar for every 20 minutes! Lunch and a bit of working on the computer set me back an extra $5 for parking! That combined with the high priced tacos and overpriced latte negated any chance of a return to this location for me. That's a shame because it was a nice place to work outside. read more

One of the worst experiences I've had at a Starbucks. First there was a delay in service because two employees were talking to each other. Then when my order was prepared (iced tea) I could tell by the color that it had too much lemonade. The offer to remake my tea was snidely made and she wanted to know how much lemonade I wanted, by the teaspoon. When I said "about a 1/4 cup" the snarky response was "that's what it is."
