I was excited to find a familiar coffee shop that wasn't Starbucks. I have a Human Bean next to me in Tempe and love their coffee products. I picked up my coffee drink and appreciated the great customer that I always get from these guys. The Human Bean got their start in Oregon. They are known for their hand-crafted espresso drinks and fruit-infused smoothies. Every drink is topped with a white chocolate espresso bean. All of their locations have a double drive-thru or you can walk up to the window. You order directly from the barista and not through an intercom. The baristas are usually high energy and personable. The Granita is a my favorite and is Human Bean's biggest seller.

It truly doesn't look like much when you're driving by. My husband and sons are ALL very well versed in caffeination, like 4 espresso shots per drink and multiple drinks per day! This place is amazing! They don't over roast their beans? They brew in a way that reduces the inherent bitterness of espresso or coffee. They use quality syrups and flavorings. They work quickly and efficiently to keep you moving on but looking forward to coming back. From the outside, it looks like everybody is very well trained and happy to be there. The prices are very reasonable and actually lower than several other places in town.

The wait was minimal, at most 10 minutes, even though it was busy with around 6-7 cars total. I got my order in really fast, and I just pulled into the drive-thru. The drink came out quickly, looking fresh and great. Lastly, the ambiance. The exterior was clean, service window was clear, and the menus along the drive thru were nice and easy to see. Accordingly, I try to avoid scheduling meetings and use it more as a time to catch up on emails and projects. They have quite a bit of indoor seating with power outlets and a patio with a few tables for the rare cooler months. I always order ahead on the app, but the baristas always seem happy and friendly. Starbucks is always usually pretty consistent in their drinks, so no complaints. My Pumpkin Cold Brew was delicious as usual. A nice afternoon pick me up! My one ding is that I've had issues with the WiFi before, which I know is a perk, but when you are banking on using it and it does not work, it's a hindrance.

We sat in the drive thru for at least 20 minutes. We ordered 2 breakfast paninis and 1 chicken panini. The chicken wasn't bad, but the breakfast ones were just sad. One fried egg and 1 piece of bacon broken in half and could only assume 1 piece of cheese. So flimsy for $12!! I could've gotten 2 breakfast sandwiches from Starbucks for that price. It said "fresh fruit" as a side option, but it was most definitely fruit cocktail from a can like you'd get on your lunch tray in elementary school There were no size options for the drinks!! My dirty chai was 20 oz or more! So I basically got a entire cup of milk with 2 shots and whatever they use for Chai. $72 down the drain. We roadtrip from FL to CA and back 2x per year and like to support local businesses, but this one just wasn't it! Its almost like they don't want returning customers. Maybe it's a front or something? One employee?? What if there were 2 or 3+ cars in the drive thru + people inside? People would be waiting 30 - 40 minutes or more! Save your dollars and your time. Go anywhere else.
