Very slow service. I was the only one at the counter and guess the drive through had everyone busy? Got a Pikes with heavy cream and 4 stevia packets. Was already driving away when I took my first sip.... COLD coffee and no stevia seemed to have been put in.. If they would leave the sweetener out for customers to use, I would have added my own and tasted it before I left. I will not try this Starbucks again. Too many bad experiences here. read more

Giddings is a midpoint for road tripping between Houston and Austin. It also where some marching band contests are hosted. Thus, a Starbucks should be a consistent oasis. This location, however, falls short. I recently visited the Giddings location while under-caffeinated and hungry. I began my adventure in the drive thru. I asked about which drip coffees were ready. I ordered two simple grandes. One for my personal cup and one regular. I never got to the snack order there. I was curtly told they require me to come inside for my coffee. Now, I understand that they didn't want to take my personal cup through the window, but to refuse altogether is unacceptable. Never the less, I agreed to go inside without complaint. The whole vibe of the place was off. Once inside it appeared that only two workers were present. The drive thru was moving, but there was a small line of customers at the counter and a few seated. I waited in-line with my companion. We chatted while observing the workers scurry without approaching the counter. After awhile, it became our turn. The barista was clearly frazzled. I placed the same two-coffee order. I was instructed to put my cup into a coffee mug. The mug containing my cup then sat on the counter in front of the drip coffee for at least 15 minutes. By the time we got the coffee, it was cold. Drip coffee is typically the fastest drink to get at Starbucks. Most times the cup is filled and handed right back. At most it's within a few minutes because the brew is ready to go. Meanwhile, new people came in and waited at the counter. They received zero human attention. After ten minutes or so, they simply left without ever speaking with an employee. Additionally, no cream, sugar, etc is available for self serve. This means waiting for an employee to respond to verbal pestering, because they avoid eye contact. There is an additional oddity of this location. In the corner between the exterior doors, a longish table runs into the corner. On the table is a large television facing into the corner. An obscured individual was sitting in the corner between the walls and the face of the sizable TV. It was quite odd. Overall, this location is slow and unfriendly. read more

If I wanted my dragon drink BLENDED, I would've asked for it blended. I don't like the pieces all crumbled up- I like them whole. The drive thru line was long, so I went inside hoping it'd be faster. Second time in on our drive back home for the road trip I decided to bring my puppy in so I can get a drink and my puppy can get a pup cup! As soon as me and my puppy walked in, they instantly started shouting out no dogs to come inside. I found that strange because they have a stand of photos of dogs with their pup cups inside of the establishment, so how do you get a pup cup and get a photo with the pup and the cup inside the establishment if dogs are not allowed inside!!! Starbucks rose to fame by standardizing upscale coffee. It brought the art of coffee to the masses. Unfortunately, it comes along with a lot of pompous expressions and aspirations of elitism. I rarely get that vibe, but it is definitely part of the culture. When I came to this store, I think they found the epicenter of all of their pretentious attitudes. I go to Starbucks a lot but this is the first time I felt overwhelmed by the coffee snobs serving. At this point of the game even McDonalds is trying to upscale their coffee. This store has all the usual Starbucks offering One comes to expect in every Starbucks. I skip all other coffee stop and prefers a prefix I le vood cup of Americano and clean washroom over saving $0.30-0.50 but suffer a sour cup of drip coffee. Highway 290 can be a treacherous slog, particularly if navigating at night at the tail end of a long road trip. A decent cup of coffee and a clean restroom is big help to a weary traveler, and this Starbucks almost hits the mark. The location is odd and a little treacherous, but there is a stoplight and a Buc-ees adjacent. Be advised that the parking lots do NOT connect. We had a 3 star experience here due to the strangely-slow service. The staff may have gone on a break or forgotten about our order, because it took about 10 minutes at the window for my single cappucino to arrive. It did appear that several parties inside arrived and were handled completely during our wait. This may have been an anomaly, but long delays during a very slow time (Sunday evening) may mean big trouble during peak hours. read more

I typically stop at this Starbucks on my way between Houston and Austin. The people are always super nice, but more often then not they are out of the things I want...and almost all the time is Oatmeal! How can they be out of oatmeal? That doesn't take refrigeration, just add hot water. For someone who can't eat eggs this is so disappointing, because all of the other things they have to offer just won't work, and you can't survive on coffee alone... my tummy would hate me. read more

I don't know who does the hiring there but every person I've ever been served by is so nice, friendly and positive!
