Stayed at the hotel and was very excited Starbucks is right next to the lobby, until I stepped into Starbucks. The staff mainly teenagers were more concerned and occupied by their cell phones or the intense conversations they were having then the customers trying to "pay" them for coffee!
I thought I'd been to a bad Starbucks and had a less than decent cup of coffee...nope, l was about to embark on a weekend that would rival any I'd experienced before. Buckle up buttercup! It's going to be a bumpy ride.
I realize this is falling on deaf ears, as there is no possible way that this company cannot know this location is literally ground zero for bad service and I'm trying to be polite here, less than drinkable cup of coffee! Unless you enjoy luke warm barely hints of coffee, or whatever concoction you were lucky enough to be handed.
I get it, this is a tourist location. It's obvious Starbucks does NOT care about customer service or even the coffee it's staff haphazardly and casually as the mood should strike them, places on the counter with such lack of care or enthusiasm or regard to even attempt to get the order correct due to the fact most customers are here for 48 hrs or less.
All I ask, is that Starbucks at least acknowledge the fact that this location sucks! I mean, you can have fun with it. Make some of the destination mugs, print on them world's worst location! No really this is! Try placing an order and you'll be a believer!
See, I've already got your new slogan ready!
Make signage for the door, don't expect to be met with eye contact or spoken to or even responded to! Why? You might ask. Well Sir or ma'am, Becky is currently going through a bad breakup and the crew on this shift is trying to be supportive of her! They don't have time for you and your selfish inconsiderate wants and you standing there expecting coffee for money! No no, not today my friend, as these paid employees, so called baristas have more urgent matters they're dealing with! Becky and her boyfriend of 3 weeks! How dare you stand there screaming in your mind "Karen" talking to yourself, having that internal conversation we've all had at least once in our adult life. "Ya know if I did this at my job, I'd be fired"
True, you inconsiderate, self absorbed, caffeine addicted jerk! Can't you see, all these employees want is to huddle up and giggle over the latest video of some rando falling off a bike or read the latest drama with Beckie's latest breakup! They just DON'T have time for you and your coffee! What do you think this is? A coffee shop...no no no. This is a place where these young not so hard working teens and young adults can come dress up like employees of Starbucks and collect a check! It's like cos play only worse because you have to pay to play! And by play, I mean pay for a lack luster cup of coffee like drink that you may or more than likely may not be able to drink.
All anyone wants is, hi, welcome to Starbucks may I take your order. Or here's one...
Hi, we'll be right with you.
Perhaps talk to the employees and tell them when a customer asks for a lid please don't roll your eyes so far back in your head and slam the lid on the counter and slid it across the it like an angry toddler. Remind them "hey guys, there will be times you have to actually complete certain tasks in order to be paid.
Oh I've got it, since they seem to like games, you can ask them to only mess up every other customers order, or if they come in dressed in period clothing. MaKe it fun for them, because the last thing anyone can expect out of this location is it's employees to actually show up and work and have any sort of customer service or pride in what they're doing.
This Starbucks is the origin story for the "Karen's and Kevin's" of the world. I'm convinced this is where they make them and then they ship them all over the world right here from Gettysburg!!!
I have so much more I can say, but I need to go attempt to order one last cup of coffee before I hit the road and contemplate the meaning of life with the tall black coffee with vanilla I'm about to be handed. I ordered a white chocolate mocha, grande. But this will have to due, Becky is sad and the staff is busy consoling her. It would be rude of me to interrupt their team building exercise. read more
