Starbucks - Place de Longemalle (Genevé)
I really like this location, surrounded by history, mixed with modern.
Let me start by saying it is smaller than some other locations in the area. There's not a lot of places to sit and where you do sit, you feel crammed in and people accidentally do bump into you. I think it was more designed as Stop-and-Go, not Stop-and-Sit.
However, that's not really a complaint for me. If you're visiting beauty of Geneva, are you really there to sit at a Starbucks?
Let's start from the outside - Public space meets brick street with plenty of shops and few high-end hotels, including, "Hotel De La Cigogne."
When you walk inside, all your Swiss merchandise is on the left side shelves. Straight ahead is where you can place your order and pick it up towards the back. They do offer great selection of pastries including, "Sweetheart Donut," "Salmon Bagel," "Raspberry & White Chocolate Raspberry Cookie," "Carrot Cake," "Chocolate Lovin' Spoon Cake," and much more.
I decided to order "Americano," which is basically black coffee but in Europe and most other countries outside America, you don't order Coffee, you ask, "Can I order Americano?" Along with my "Americano," I ordered, "Chocolate Lovin' Spoon Cake." I love a good rich flavored chocolate cake and this did not disappoint in slightest bit.
While indulging in my delicious cake and sipping on my Americano, I set for good ten to fifteen minutes towards the back where they do offer limited sitting. I did get bumped by few patrons accidentally and we both apologize for the inconvenience.
Overall, I would still recommend this place, despite it being fairly busy and baristas did great job accommodating customers. It's worth stopping by for their great Swiss Market Bakery Items and merchandise. read more
