Came in to order. After my order was taken. I told the guy I would be using gift card first. Then I handed him a $100 bill! That was the only cash I had on me. He then tells me he doesn't have enough change to cash that! Which I find crazy this particular starbucks always has lots of customers! So I had to wait for him to put money back on my gift card! This location is inside target, and opens at 7am. It's hit or miss with service though. My order is more often than not messed up. It's normally slow if there is more than two or three people in line. They have a few good employees but the turn over seems high. Oooo my goodness, my last visit here took 20 minutes to get 3 items, two were the same thing, and they were out of two drinks that I wanted. The girl working was rude from the start. Not sure who could be sullen when an adorable 6 year old walks up and orders a vanilla bean frappiccihno, but hey whatever. I go to order a pink drink, she says "No, we're out" I'm sorry but if you work with people maybe you should check your shit at the door when you go to work. Isn't the first time this skinny brunette ball of misery has waiting on us and she seems like she is always pissed she has to work. We ended up getting 3 fraps, two the same flavor took forever. She made two of them then started making other people's orders, and taking orders too. I'm siting over here like can we finish what we started!! Finally another angry employee came out of the back to help. I said I'm waiting on one more frap, and I get an "Ok" and she walks off. How hard is it to be friendly?!? We came across this Starbucks after leaving Crowders mountain after a very cold hike. My hands felt frozen so we gps'd ourselves go the closest Starbucks bc I needed to warm my hands on a hot latte. I walked in and the line was so long and their was only one employee doing everything. I started looking to see where the nearest Starbucks was to this one and then noticed how fast the line was moving. This friendly employee had a great system that was so efficient that I was back in the car with two hot beverages in less than 10 minutes. By far, the worst Starbucks location in Gaston County. How is it possible that they're ALWAYS out of something necessary to make whatever I ask for? Unless you want a cup of black coffee, you're better off going to Dunkin just down the street. And if you just want a cup of black coffee, you should just go to Krispy Kreme since their coffee is better. I've gone there 4 times in as many weeks, and they can't make the drink I want. Someone from Starbucks corporate needs to step in and find out what the problem is. read more

***This is the Starbucks in the Gastonia Target - not the one across the street at 420 Cox Road with the Drive Thru *** Directly on the right when you enter. Plenty of seating and clean. I've heard from others it can be hit or miss compared with a free standing store. Personally I've had good service, but it can get crowded with Target Shoppers gettin' their Latte on. I struggle with the nested Starbucks locations because the overall experience suffers. Only came here because most of the Starbucks in the Charlotte area are nested within larger stores and not true standalone facilities... this being the closest one to my hotel. The service here was very slow and the barista burned the milk. Then had to remake and after an already long wait turned this into an almost 30 minute visit. This location also has no wireless service even though it has a very nice and ample seating area. Not conducive to the traditional cafe experience. read more

I've visited this place about 5 times now and each time, they are SLOW. I certainly don't expect to get in and out of the drive through in under a minute, but good lord, today I sat in the drive through for 25 minutes!!! I kept thinking "Someone must have placed a large order" but everyone I saw being given there order had one drink. Not to mention, they keep messing up my order. For example, today I ordered the blueberry oatmeal. I got the regular oatmeal instead. Sorry for being dramatic but sometimes I really just want my blueberry oatmeal. Its not that hard. read more

It was cold and we wanted some hot drinks from this new Starbucks so we went through the drive thru. We ordered hot chocolate and a caramel latte. Although the drinks were good it seemed like it took forever for them to have it ready. Glad that Gastonia is coming up in the world and now has not one, but 2 Starbucks and this one even has a drive thru...BUT! It needs some help. On several occasions I have been the only car in line and have waited and waited for them to fix my one drink. When I made the mistake and ordered 2, they messed up the order. After I politely brought this to the cashiers attention the lady making the drinks had an attitude when asking what was wrong with it and instead of making a fresh one, I saw her pour what was already made into the new cup and add to it. Normally I have a good experience here, staff have always been very friendly! Today however, I opted for the drive thru because I had my babies in the car. Bad move. I got STUCK in that drive thru for over 30 minutes! There's no way out once you get in...... I finally get to the window. They gave me the wrong drink. After waiting so long and the fit my toddler pitched in the backseat I opted to just take it rather than "pull to the side" to wait even longer for them to remake the drink. I'm leaving and realize the barista kept my debit card. SO I had to turn around. Park. Unload my toddler and my baby. And go inside....... to be ignored at the counter by 6 employees standing around! When I got the baristas attention and asked for my card, his response was to just hand me my card and turn back around. No apology, no my bad, no nothing at all. You would think after the insanely long wait that they would be busy inside. You would be wrong. You would also think after ALL that, the customer service would be better, you would be even more wrong. read more

Today, walked into this establishment. Three employees present. One at the drive thru, one at coffee prep area, holding a personal conversation with other patrons and another off to the side. I walk to the register to place order. A young couple comes in behind me and all of a sudden, I hear "How Y'all Doin?". I took that to include me. Whatever! I place my order and pay for it. I step to the side where the coffee is prepared. The employee that was talking is now changing the garbage bag, I wait. The couple that came in behind me place their order for two drinks. As the employee finishes the garbage he begins to prepare the orders(not good). Before I knew it, the couple that came in "behind" me were walking away with both their drinks. Maybe I should have told them why first, I just didn't! I went straight to counter and advised the cashier that I had changed my mind and would like a refund. As she began to refund my money I hear the other employee call out my order. Before the cashier could say it, form the words out of her mouth, I reiterated... I would like a refund. I received and exited the store. Went down the block to Krispy Kreme for a cup of coffee. It could have been an honest mistake on their part. Or...was it an ignorance thing? Bottom line, I will not return to this particular Starbucks again. As I have stated in a previous review, competition is good! I have a choice on where I spend my hard earned money! read more
