The counter help was polite when taking my order, but he forgot to make my hot tea. After waiting until after the other 3 customers left, I was hoping he would have asked of anyone made my tea, sadly he did not. He pretty much ignored me. After I walked over to the other end of the counter one of the baristas asked if they could help me and thankfully hey made my tea. She also reminded him that the front counter is responsible for making this drink items along with other food items for the customers. This is my HOME starbucks. Working in AK.. actually podunk AK, i dont get any sbux unless um flying in or out of ANC airport. And their sbux is just ok. Here, there is little turnover in employees.. most of them remember me at their drive thru window. Drinks are made perfectly and quickly. I stopped by before heading back to frozen hell called alaska. 3 more months til i get some again. *sigh* read more

If I could give them a zero I would. I went through the drive thru July 3 rd around 3:00 pm. I was a car behind the order screen. I figured it won't take long to get my order. It took over half an hour to get to the window to get my drink. That is five to six cars. Half an hour. I got to the window, there were two girls there. They were not going fast at all to make the drinks, taking their time to make the drinks. I do not recommend this Starbucks at all! Unless you have half an hour to chill in line for only a few cars, then sure but if you want a true drive through, avoid at all cost. read more

I do not attach myself to a brand but as far as this location goes one star. Most often my simple drinks are wrong the service is rarely great. Grande blonde with cream and sugar at a drive through ends up being black. This only today but it's rare I walk away with a good experience from this location. read more

Wow. so NOT like my regular Starbucks. I walked in on Sunday about noon, after seeing a long line of cars in the drive-thru lane. There were about 3 customers waiting for their orders but it didn't seem overly busy inside. The employees were all at the back of the store, presumably working on the drive-thru orders. I waited at the register for a greeting. And waited. After about a minute, someone came up and asked if I was waiting for an order and I said no, I was waiting to place my order. No greeting or acknowledgement or anything along the lines of "welcome to our business, we'll be right with you." Ignore. She then left to go to the back of the store. 3 more employees passed right by me, never acknowledging me. Then another shot by, bringing an order to one of the waiting customers. Huh. How odd for a Starbucks store to be so rude. I finally gave up and stormed out. And went to Bigfoot Java in Federal Way at the end of 320th, where they greeted me and seemed genuinely happy to have me as their customer, even though they were crazy busy. Yikes, Hoyt Rd Starbucks. 840am - My family and I approached the store lobby and due to short staffing they closed the lobby and must use drive thru. We got back in our vehicle and pulled around to the drive thru, about 6 vehicles in line, as soon as we got to the line, lady put a "Pumpkin Spice Latte is Back" sign right in the front entrance of the drive thru, blocking the drive thru for us to drive in, didn't say anything to us just walked away. If you were short staffed and couldn't handle the drive thru orders that would be nice to tell the people instead of putting a sign in front of our vehicle blocking us from moving forward and just walking away. Rude. Stop working customer service if you don't know how to service customers. read more

During this quarantine, when there are just a few Starbucks drive thrus open, I was shocked by what I saw at this one. On Friday, my daughter and I decided to make some porch deliveries for people who can't leave their homes. So, we took orders and made 2 batches of deliveries. We went thru twice March 27, 1-2pm. Both times, I could see 3 workers: the guy at the window, and 2 girls preparing drinks. Nobody wore gloves. The girl in back placed her hands directly over the mouthpiece of every drink to close the lids (we totaled 9 drinks, plus 7 cake pops). She picked up the cups from the top, so again touching all the Mouthpieces. The guy at the window, the same one handling money and credit cards, picked up the drinks from the top so that his hands covered the lids and mouthpiece, as he pushed them into drink carriers. When I asked for stoppers - you guessed it - he held the bottom of the stoppers, the part that goes into each drink. Under "normal" food prep practices, this would bother me. Under quarantine circumstances...wow....I think they chose the wrong Sbux to stay open through this crisis. read more

I am giving two stars partially because the last three times my order was made incorrectly and had to be remade. They were friendly about it and the end result was good, but that's a pretty high rate of mistakes. Here's the big reason for two stars: Last time I went with a family member that orders the same drink each day, a hot chocolate with peppermint flavor. Recently, they have been charged, several times, for the holiday peppermint mocha. The baristas here have been irritated and rude with this family member when she corrects THEIR mistake. This was confirmed to be a mistake by the corporate office, which we called to confirm with. All that some barista's can say is "I just push the buttons" in a exasperated way... well maybe then can use their brains next time and ask a manager. These people desperately need more training in customer service. As a former sales person, I was trained to respect and treat customers as if they are always right, even if I though they were mistaken. Its NOT about YOU as a sales person, its about the CUSTOMER!!! Learn that or work somewhere else. PS - As a family we spend thousands per year at Starbucks for coffee and food and you are going to loose that revenue. read more

So my strawberry and cream tasted like water. I didn't want to be rude or complain and was contempt with drinking it anyway. As I was walking out, the barista Karolina overheard my disappointment, and gladly offered a solution to my problem. I got a pump of raspberry syrup and it really fixed it. I walked out happy with my drink and the service I received. Will definitely visit this Starbucks again the next time I visit Seattle. read more

I'm a fan of Starbucks whenever I get a chance to stop in. I have a couple of favorite drinks that I typically order. This location is convenient to me, usually they have everything I need. The staff is super nice especially one named Jeremy (I believe) super nice and happy every time I stop inside or at the drive thru. Almost always they do my drink correct; I think only one time they forgot the flavor or the white chocolate. I told Jeremy and he replaced it in a flash, and gave me a I'm sorry voucher for a free drink next time. I suggest keeping a gift card loaded and registered on starbucks.com so you can gain reward type points. Love the mini doughnuts & banana breads & cake pops! All good little treats if you need a quick bite or snack while on your way; also the panini type breakfast sandwiches are good also! read more

Slowest Starbucks ever, almost always 20 min to get through 5-6 cars. I totally respect that people have big orders but seriously, the car in front of me sat at the window for 6 minutes to get 2 drinks??? This is the starbucks closest to my house so I'm here often. They normally have different people in the window and they are all amazing! However I came just over the weekend and Corey was the one working the window. I just want everybody to know how amazing he is. I'm new to Washington and he was telling me about all the cool spots to visit and keeping the conversation going, even though they were super busy. He also cleaned a spiderweb off my side mirror that I was too scared to get myself! He definitely went above and beyond even if it was something small like getting a spider web for me. The thing I like about this Starbucks is that it is relatively quiet. This is my favorite Starbucks when I want to read, write, and reflect. Usually the conversations are quiet and subdued. There are an occasional person or two who come in and take over the place with the loudness of their presence. But that is to be expected as this is a public place. The staff are very friendly. The place is clean. The coffee is consistently great. Recommend it...especially if you are not loud! read more

I have had multiple poor experiences at this location, but the last one was the absolute worst. A usually busy location, was fairly slow on this particular day, and a very simple order, one that I have made hundreds of times was turned into a very frustrating order. "Tall iced coffee, with 1 pump toffee nut, and splash of coconut milk..." Pretty simple right??? The person taking my order then made a huge deal about something called "classic"... I don't know what classic means, and now I'm just a little frustrated because again, I've ordered this many many times, and this question has never been asked, and my coffee has always turned out exactly how I wanted it.... So apparently they added the classic, and HOLY SWEET TOOTH!!!! Not what I ordered.... Second coffee, same trip... "Grande Teavana Chai Latte with 3 shots espresso".... Again, EASY!!! Her response... "Sooooooo do you want milk in it??" I don't freaking know, again I've ordered the same thing hundreds of times, and never been asked that question.... My response, "is there milk in a Teavana chai latte with 3 shots espresso?" She responds, "I think so?" So I then ask the lady making it if she could please help the person taking my order, and told her exactly what I said above.... "oh yea, it's a latte, so it gets milk, great I will get that going for you" she said to me. My chai was made a TALL.... with NO ESPRESSO.... At the end of the day, I did not have time to wait to have them re-made, and to be honest, I did not want them to re-make them for me... I will NEVER return to this location. I was able to take both drinks to the Twin-Lakes Fred Meyer location later in the day and have them re-made, and wouldn't you know it, there was another person in line with me doing the same thing.... Their drink was also screwed up by this location and was taking it to be fixed. As for a solution.... I truly don't care because as I said, I will never re-visit this location. read more

This has always been my go to location for Starbucks coffee dates with friends in the Federal Way/Northeast Tacoma area. The Starbucks is smaller than most, but has a reasonably sized sitting area with couches and tables to meet the busyness of the location. It is the one drive thru location in the Northeast Tacoma area, so most of the business I would say comes predominantly from drive thru. Great service from the staff, and the store is always clean. Definitely a Starbucks location to come study at if you need somewhere quiet to work. read more

What really made me give only one star is the fact they have cockroaches here! I already contacted the county and reported this location, what's worse is that they already are aware of it! I do mobile ordering on my way to work and they always have it ready and see me coming through the door and get it ready. I drink an iced americano and at other locations it often tastes burnt, I've never had that here. I also order "extra ice" and this location always gets that right! For a neighborhood Starbucks, this cafe deserves 5 stars for its customer service and location. I walked in and was greeted by the cashier. Service was super quick on a 'lax Sunday in residential Federal Way. The dark-haired, lady barista was very kind as she chatted with me while she made my drink. Who says baristas cannot be like bartenders? Location is phenomenal as it is located in a small strip mall with Walgreens, Kindercare, Great Clips, and some express eateries all nearby. Last but not least, it's 3 miles away from Dash Point Park so I can see and smell the ocean. read more

This is my neighborhood Starbucks. Although this location has not (yet) been remodeled, it's always clean, warm during the fall/winter months, and cool during the summer. The Wi-Fi reception here is excellent, stretching at least halfway across the parking lot. There is a small outdoor patio, consisting of two tables and chairs with umbrellas. Some maintained shrubbery nearby adds minor privacy. The male barista who occasionally works the 6am shift is pretty chill. All of the other of the other baristas are warm and personable. Location, Location: This is the closest Starbucks to Dash Point State Park, and the only full-service shop in the NE Tacoma area. This is also one of the "nicer" ends of Federal Way. Nearby, there's fine dining, quick eats, and services, as well as shopping. There is a 24-hour QFC store just a few steps away. Mediterranean Gyro Grill, Yoko's Teriyaki Bistro, and Northshore Thai Cuisine are all in the same shopping area, making it convenient to get a Starbucks drink to go along with your lunch or dinner should you choose not to order a beverage there. Cons: There's not much that I can think of. I guess it would be nice if they'd remodel, and add more soft seating areas inside.
