I go to Starbucks all over south west Florida. Never have I had such a bad experience like I did here. Long waits, staff was very rude and unfriendly. Especially the heavy set ginger lady. Would never come back here rather drive a couple more miles to go to a better store. They even shorted me on my drink only filling it up a qtr of the cup. The Starbucks at this location has been like a yo-yo the last few years (open/closed/open/closed). The service during those years was hit or miss. I started going to Panera next door to get my daily coffee. This Starbucks location opened back up late summer and it is like night and day with service (in a very good way). I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I placed a mobile order for two venti drinks and went inside to pick them up. When I went to get them I asked for a venti cup of water (I was parched). I was told that by the "new policy" he couldn't do that. Best he could do was a tall cup of water. Worker proceeds to give me a hard time and argue with me. I get 2 TALL CUPS OF WATED. My first time inside since the remodel and I am a little disappointed. I do like the color palate but the seating to me is not welcoming. There is now less seating inside and what they do have is hard wood chairs and a few uncomfortable padded chairs. I have spoken with a few other regulars here and we all agree that it appears that Starbucks no longer wants people to linger and enjoy coffee and companionship there. To us it is a conscious push to get you in and push you out the door. The coffee is still the same and the staff is still same but the new furnishings makes me drop it to 3 stars. Update! I still really enjoy this location if Starbucks. It is based in the ever popular Coconut Point Mall, however, which means it also comes with the crowds. They do work hard in getting the lines moving. So if you come at high time, you may have to wait a bit. That said, we enjoyed coffee this week and sat outside on the couch. Rude Kids running the place. No smiles, took the order and charged us only to realize they had ran out of what they sold us the day before. The cashier from the beginning seemed sleepy and upset at the fact we were ordering to begin with. Then we were asked if we wanted something else to eat and thought the egg bites had blue cheese in them but it was mold. Secondly the girl at the counter with the black hair and pink and white mask couldn't hate her job more. Gross. As a daily, loyal Starbucks enjoyer, I was actually kind of disgusted visiting this location. Carole took the trash bag out of the trash can and never washed or sanitized her hands before getting on register and then handling people's orders. The one girl there literally spent most of the time leaning or trying to talk to the other workers which basically slowed them down. The guy pictured was NONSTOP. I order Starbucks almost daily. Lately, I've been loving the new iced cold foam blonde cappuccino with soy. It comes with the lid that lets me drink the foam like a hot cappuccino. Today I was in a hurry so I ordered mobile. I allowed 10 mins to pass before speaking up and asking where my mobile order drink is. Since changing management, this Starbucks has consistently gone downhill. And it's not the employees perse, but the new manager named Wes. This is strictly an analytical review, nothing personal, as I do not know him outside of his work position. He's extremely loud, rude, unattentive, and processes customers like they are numbers without any humanity. He will not even look you directly into the eye, but will stare at his POS screen while he takes your order. He rushes the transactions, and treats people with the utmost disrespect. I have also witnessed him treating his employees like wild dogs, yelling across the lobby to double check details about drinks, and asking several times as if the employees were making basic mistakes. He is trying to assert his dominance in the store instead of letting his employees shine the way they always have. My experiences used to be personal here... I know several of the employees by name and they know mine. I was greeted with cheer and respect every time I entered the store, even for mobile order pickups. Now, I don't even want to think about stepping a foot into this store because the thought of witnessing Wes speak to his employees like incompetent slaves makes me physically ill. Something else to note - I sat down and watched him interact with several different types of customers, and it seems that he has sexist tendencies, speaking to older male customers with laughs, jokes, and loud comments, while demeaning female customers and speaking to them as if they aren't intelligent. I loved the location of this Starbucks as it was in with a shopping area. When we went in they were not busy so it made it even better. I had a Strawberry Green Tea which was promptly made with a smile (not really a smile, but pleasantries exchanged as they called my name). It was as good as any other although there was a bit more strawberry. Not complaining as it was delicious. The store was nicely decorated and clean. I ordered an espresso with almond milk, and with 4 people behind the counter in an uncrowded store, it still took 15 minutes to get my drink... which was made with regular milk. It took another 10 minutes to get the drink re-made because the girls behind the counter were too busy giggling and chit chatting about their co-workers (loud enough that I could hear from 10 feet away)... I pretty much stick to my same drink every time but when I want to get more adventurous they are happy to offer info and suggestions. This place is always a hassle. Parking is non-existent during season - regardless of the time of day. I always end up in line behind 3 people, which turns in to 15-minutes of waiting to just place my order. My drink is always accurate, I don't ever have much interaction with the staff, but don't "stop in" if you're in a hurry or just trying to grab-and-go. And good luck getting a table outside when the weather is decent. They need more outdoor seating. read more
