Feel free to belly up to the bar and order a healthy drink. I ordered the Forest Tonic with ginger and fresh mint. It was delish!! It was also great to leave a lice music venue without a hangover, if you know what I mean. Lol I highly recommend Canopy & the Roots. We ordered the drip coffee, which actually came as a pour-over, and it was quite good! That's coming from people who take their coffee pretty seriously. They also had pastries available, although I do wish the selection had been a little wider. One thing worth mentioning is that this probably isn't the place to stop if you're in a rush or trying to get out the door quickly. They seem to move at their own pace, but for us, that pace worked perfectly. We were there to enjoy the coffee, the atmosphere, and the town, and that's exactly what we got. Overall, a great little coffee shop with good coffee, a charming atmosphere, and a location that's hard to beat. The experience was well worth the stop, and we'll certainly be back!

Later that day I encouraged my mom to go in the shop to see the inside. She went in and upon entry, the same lady said, "my gift shop is closed. You can purchase their proprietary spice blends, seasonings, and rubs as well as their loose-leaf teas and organic teas. They have 85 handcrafted seasonings that are hand-mixed in store daily. They also offer flavored sugars, sea salts, and other lines including infused honeys and artisan extra virgin olive oils. They seriously have it all, so it's a great gift shop if you're looking to buy something special for a loved one. They also offer fresh-brewed tea made to order, and let you choose any of their loose-leafs available in house. I think that's so cool to have the ability to pick your tea on the spot and have it made just for you. I chose the Super Citrus Mint Herbal Tea over ice with NO sugar or sweetener (I like it as natural as possible), and it was exactly what I was looking for. I was very shocked and disappointed in her attitude, tone and behavior. I am still trying to figure out what happened for her to act that way, I was simply looking at a tea and asked a question followed by a comment on how I loved the smell. It was an odd interaction.
