Found a Starbucks in downtown Crystal Lake, so I decided to come here for breakfast before heading to the airport for my flight to Fort Wayne, Indiana. I always loved the vibe of Starbucks and it was empty enough to where I could secure a seat after purchasing my trenta black tea lemonade. I arrived here on a brisk Monday late April 2024 morning at around 6:15am, after my friend dropped me off before she headed to work. It was nice and warm, when the weather was chill outside. There was a couple of people ahead of me, so I waited my time to order up a trenta black tea lemonade. Starbucks is known for their coffees and frappuchinos, but I ended up getting their handcrafted ice teas. While Starbucks can be expensive, it's a lifestyle for most people who live for this stuff, myself included. The ambiance of this Starbucks, like many standalone stores, is an oasis for many. I love the fact that you can enjoy your purchase and hang out or work on your mobile device online with wifi. The place is clean and typical of what you'd find at a Starbucks store. For myself though, I had brought my leftovers from dinner the night before and paired it with the aforementioned trenta black tea for an ideal pairing for breakfast. I probably spent about 1 1/2 hours here just enjoying the small town ambiance Crystal Lake provides before calling an Uber to take me to Chicago O Hare that morning. I enjoyed every bit of the experience here. Wish more experiences was like that, but then again, I'd have to sit at Starbucks more. The overall experience here at this Starbucks in downtown Crystal Lake, Illinois was very pleasant. I sat near the entrance, so it was close to the parking lot for my Uber pick up spot. Plus, the restroom facilities were on that side of the building as well. The baristas were friendly and courteous, so that's always good, especially on the mornings. The entire ordering process took about 5 minutes from ordering to pick up, which was quite fast. The entire Starbucks was clean and very immaculate. I would definitely recommend coming to this Starbucks, if they are in the area or just passing thru. This just might be the only Starbucks location in Crystal Lake, Illinois, but I am not sure. I am thankful that they are here, since I usually try to find one on every trip. The wifi was pretty strong that morning, so I got some things done while I was there, including downloading my boarding pass on my mobile device and other whimsical things like being updated on the local and national news of the day. With that in mind, Starbucks is usually a daily thing for me and vacationing in Crystal Lake, Illinois is included. Thankfully I found one wandering around the day before, so I could come here the next day for my daily fix. As far as parking goes, there's a generous parking options near by, so that's a good thing, especially in the morning. I was dropped off by my friend who lives in Crystal Lake and picked up by an Uber that morning. The prices here were pretty good, compared to my hometown of Honolulu, so I saved a little bit, but not by much. Their menu is mostly drinks, which isn't surprising, but they always have baked goods to compliment your drink(s) of choice. For the most part though, it was nice to come here to have leftovers from last night and indulge in my Starbucks drink of choice. Relax in the delicious ambiance that Starbucks provides and you'll be good with what life throws at you. Most of the time at least. My favorite Starbucks around! I come here almost daily since this location opened. The most friendly Starbucks team I have ever experienced and drinks and food are always made the right way and most important quickly. These days have been tough with covid but I truly appreciate their personal touch and the fact they always go out of there way to make life a little more normal by striking up a conversation. I love Starbucks food and coffee, but they keep sending me copies that are 3 inches from the top. I just think that's in really poor taste to short us that much on coffee when you're charging seven dollars a cup anyways. As much as I love Starbucks I think I'm going to find another source for my coffee and bakery items because I'm tired of feeling ripped off by you. It's a really expensive cup of coffee anyways, and when it's only 2/3 of the way filled up, I just feel ripped off. read more

Nice location all the Baristas are Super! My only complaint is they need to update the furniture and the hours have changed, they close very early now but then again I noticed that all of downtown Crystal Lake closes early except the Bars everything is all closed up no one's there that's why I prefer going to Woodstock there's more people around. read more

What can I say about Starbucks that any other coffee drinker doesn't already know? I'm not a huge fan of their coffee because it tastes fairly burned and flat, not to mention that they serve up desserts in a cardboard cup that masquerade as "coffee" drinks. I do appreciate their cold tea/juice drinks as well as their hot coffee and their caramel apple cider, which is what really keeps me coming back for more. What's great about Starbucks, and this location in particular, is the friendly customer service. Now I know it's part of their company culture, but the baristas genuinely seem to be having fun and to enjoy working. When I'm bleary eyed from a late night of shushing and soothing a screaming infant, it's great to know that there's a smiling face serving me some coffee. Today at 12:09pm a lady with glasses and bangs was taking orders and right when we walked in she was yelling at a old man accidentally picking us someone else's order.also the old Order for TWO bagels and paid for two then they said they only have one so the old man got mad and left. The coffee is, of course, amazing. I usually get a plain latte and I love it every time. The only thing that I do not like about this location is that it gets quite busy (I get that, it's a local meeting place) and that seating is quite sparse. On Saturday, I touched one of the tables before I went to put my cup down and it was extremely uneven and wobbled. Sad faces were exchanged. The staff was friendly and great. I just think that with 3 locations in Crystal Lake that this would not be as crowded as it was when it was the ONLY location in Crystal Lake. Just a thought read more

First off: there is a Clover machine here so the reserve blends are available. Very pleasant and engaging staff in a tad small facility. This store tends to get very busy and overcrowded when school lets out. Very good amount of outdoor seating available and close to downtown shopping, restaurants and the Metra Northwest Line. read more

Pretentious baristas. I just watched a female barista give this couple (man & woman) the continuous stink eye for a prolonged duration that it was blatantly obvious. She then continued to offer me a fake smile as she handed me my Clover-brewed coffee. Customers are not as bright either. I was at the creamer area and the woman kept dumping her coffee to add more half & half. Dissatisfied with her results, I watched her do this twice. I am guessing she's a regular that doesn't know how to say, "with room." All issues aside, it was just another Starbucks. read more

Now they have gotten too big for their britches offering product that is horrifically unhealthy, have you read the levels of sugar in these "drinks" not to mention the outrageous pricing that keeps going up and up? Fantastic location, right in the heart of thriving Crystal Lake. The staff makes the burden of sitting and reading physics for hours much more bearable, and the Peach Tranquility is heaven-sent. The decaf is pretty killer as well. Definitely recommend this location. P.S. I also hear tossing a shot of espresso in a peanut-butter/banana smoothie is a top notch beverage as well. read more
