I can't say enough great things about this place. Riley's Bakery is a staple of Cornwall's downtown…read morecommunity and easily one of my favourite lunch stops. The only complaint I can think of is if you show up between 11:30am and 12:30pm, there is a good chance the line will be backed out the door. On this particular occasion I made it right around 11:30 am and I only had 4 people in front of me in line. The bakery is run by the same two people day in and day out, Rob and Anna. They can come off a bit standoffish at first but nothing could be further from the truth. Rob spoke to all 4 people ahead of me and even knew some of them by name and things going on in their lives. On this visit I had a cup of Chicken Gumbo and a Turkey Sandwich. The Gumbo was full of sausage and veggies and had a nice flavour to it. The sandwiches however really are the star of the show here as Chuck pointed out. The bread was so fresh it was still warm. And the turkey piled about 3 inches thick. I opted to add cheddar cheese for the bargain price of $0.50 bringing the price to $6 for the soup and sandwich. An unbelievable bargain! Not only would I recommend Riley's bakery but would consider it a necessary stop if you visit Cornwall. You won't be disappointed.

I'm a fan of Di Rienzo in Ottawa and so I knew I would be hard to satisfy. This place is tha bomb! The bread is so good, a little touch of sweet in it, the owner is funny and diligent. Great dessert as well! If they were open at night I would be there twice a week!

Oh and did I mention that they sell unusual flavoured snacks like Banana Caramel KitKat, Root Beer flavoured Mike & Ike, and Birch Beer Crush?!? They also had Dr Pepper flavoured cotton candy. Mind blown! Lol. I was super tempted my their $1 a cone ice cream, but decided to stick with my original plan of getting some bubble tea. I went with the regular-sized Lychee Milk Tea ($4.99) and added Cherry Agar Pearls (an additional $1). My husband got a Mint Chocolate Milkshake ($6.99). So the freaky thing is that I totally forgot to tell the guy half sweet (my usual customization when I'm trying out a new place), but magically when I got my drink, the sticker said 50% sugar. Woah, he read my mind, lol. So the toppings list said "cherry tapioca" which intrigued me but when I got the drink, it was obviously agar/crystal pearls that were cherry flavoured. This was also a pleasant surprise because I love crystal boba/agar pearls and actually prefer them to tapioca pearls. I loved my drink. The lychee flavour wasn't too pronounced, but it was still tasty and not overly sweet. The agar pearls were chewy and delicious and the quantity was good. I had a sip of my husband's milkshake and it was really tasty, super rich and creamy, and it was aesthetically pleasing as well. Service was easy-going, as I was a bit indecisive at first and then changed my order as the guy was punching it into the cash register (oops, sorry, hehe). He was super nice and if he was annoyed, he didn't show it at all. If I lived in Cornwall, I would be there all the time. They are close to the highway, so I think not only will every Cornwall trip I make involve a stop here, but any trips on the 401 eastbound from Ottawa will also involve a visit to Sip & Scoop, lol. It's in a plaza with lots of free parking.

The drinks were good, but I was disappointed to see they had removed savoury foods and sandwiches from their menu. All in all, I enjoyed my visit.

We asked, and they've only been open two weeks! It's a lovely English style pub with tin-looking walls and dark furniture - everything is new and tidy. There are booths to sit at, a long bar, and high tables near the window, so there are some nice seating options. We tried the cream of carrot and ginger (soup of the day) and it was outstanding. I tried the sandwich of the day, a roast chicken with caramelized onions on 'mediterranean' bread, which was a simple white bread with some bits of kalamata olives in it, I think. I had an option of fries, salad, or potato salad, and went for the salad, which was a pile of lovely fresh greens with a creamy balsamic on top. Another of us had the chicken leek casserole which was huge and tasty. With some tricky to find imports on tap like Newcastle brown and Old Speckled Hen, we really felt like we'd stumbled into a nice example of a UK pub in Brockville. They have a bunch of premium and imported options for beer on tap plus a reasonable wine list. Worth a stop!
