Walked in around 1:05pm on a Monday afternoon and no one was in line ahead of us, place wasn't crowded or anything, just a few patrons sitting down. We placed our order (beverage and a food item for myself and one other person). We received our food items within about three minutes and sat down to eat while we waited for our drinks. I was starting to worry as I noticed more and more people waiting. It took 18 minutes to receive my drink and the other person in my party received theirs after 25 minutes! We also watched as they let the espresso shots sit for 5 minutes before pouring them. I would skip this location if you can avoid it. read more

I like this Starbucks because of the area it's at. It's close to shopping and easy to get in and out of with plenty of parking. This particular time I ordered a Barbie frap off of the online secret menu. It's a strawberry cream Frappuccino with dragonfruit inclusions blended in. Barsita Name : Jiji Manager Name : Abby Incident : I ordered a Pink Drink for my daughter--this was her first visit to Starbucks, and she was excited. I clearly requested **light ice**, along with a couple of bakery items. It took **25 minutes** just to receive the bakery items, and another **10 minutes**--only after repeated follow‑ups--to receive the drink. The drink was **filled with ice**, not light ice as requested. When I asked the Barista (Jiji) to remake it, she argued that the ice level was correct. Instead of making a new drink, she **dumped half of the drink I had already tasted into the trash**, added more liquid, and handed it back within seconds. This is not the standard Starbucks advertises, nor is it acceptable food‑handling practice. When I pointed this out, she repeatedly said "Have a great day" in a rude, mocking tone, then walked to the back of the store saying **"You need to get a life."** When I asked for the manager, Abby came out and immediately defended the Barista, claiming she had watched the drink being made--this was untrue, as she was not present. Her tone was rude and condescending, and she did not apologize for the behavior or the mishandling of the drink. Instead, she continued arguing. After several minutes, she said the best she could do was refund my money and told me to "call corporate if you want an apology." I had to ask **three to four times** for their names and the corporate number. Abby finally wrote the number in large bold letters and said, **"Hope you can read this,"** again in a rude tone. This experience was unacceptable on every level--service, professionalism, honesty, and basic respect. I hope appropriate action is taken and that the staff receives training so other customers do not go through this. As for us, we will not be returning. Starbucks has lost a loyal customer, and my daughter--after her first experience--has no desire to ever return. read more

This Starbucks is in a great location however that's about all that's positive. They take longer than any other Starbucks in Columbus, consistently. If you go inside to do some work or meet with a friend, the staff is laughing and yelling so loudly that you can't focus or hear anything the other person says. I get that the team needs to have fun at work however people come here to focus, get stuff done or have a conversation. It's impossible to do those things with the baristas playing and laughing constantly. The other major issue with being inside is it's freezing, dirty and not really comfortable. I hope new management takes over eventually and whips this place back into shape. read more

The crew they're running with is fast and friendly - it's still a little sparse (post Covid) but they have tables and a couple chairs. My sister lives nearby and I've found myself swinging by here every now and then. Most recently the drive through line was crazy long so I decided to see if going in would be faster. I found parking out front and was pleased to see their patio out front. Inside it was a little bigger than the one closest to home. It was nice to see folks inside on laptops again. The staff was super friendly and did a great job at managing app orders, walk-ins, and drive through orders with ease and urgency. Absolutely no point of a drive thru when they say they require 15-20 minutes to make a drink and drive thru should park and wait inside. I was debating between 2* or 3* and decided on a 3* since the barista was training someone at the drive-thru window on how to make drinks. We have all been there when someone was learning so have to give the employees some slack. I normally don't go to this store so I can't judge it as usual. This is the first Starbucks store where everything could go wrong when wrong. I had about 20 minutes to free time before my next item. My friend drove to the drive-thru window. Ordered a tall hot chocolate extra hot, the employee repeats the order, grande chai latte, venti caramel ribbon frappaccino. When I heard the price ($9.57), I was wondering if there was a happy hour going on since the price was a bit low. There was one window to take the cash, credit/debit or phone app. Got to the window, after waiting a long time. Keep in mind there is an employee in training. My friend passed me the tall chai latte thinking it was a hot chocolate. That was the first issue. The employee graciously fix the issue and upgrade the chai latte drink to venti. Next is the venti caramel ribbon frappaccino which came out correct. The employee was looking at my friend and was saying have a good day. We were like where is the third drink that the employee repeated and asked. The order item disappeared. We had to pay for the drink since we didn't pay for the first time which explains the discrepancy in price. It took a while but we finally got our drinks. This was the longest I ever waited at a Starbucks and took about 20 minutes because I ended up with no time cushion. Lesson learn: double-check your order. read more

I typically avoid Starbucks and look for privately owned coffee shops. This morning I'm glad I stopped in here. I had some time to kill and wanted a quiet place to sit a bit. The service was SO kind, fast and the coffee was actually tasty (I usually think it tastes burnt-which is why I go elsewhere). As I sat and painted the atmosphere and the kindness I heard coming from the staff compelled me to write this review. They were working hard, but were courteous to every customer and each other. I got the vibe that they all actually enjoyed their job which is refreshing. I also got the vibe that this store has lots of repeat customers because the server seemed to know a lot of names. Being bland, boring, and beyond blah the space of this Starbuck is infinitely worse than the comfy sofa soft space it replaced a few years ago. That spot, in the mall behind around the corner from Hobby Lobby, was probably my favorite Starbucks back when it existed. But Starbuck changed its philosophy, moving into spaces its possible to have a drive through, and initiated something of a travesty--decor minimalism; the tendency to very little seating, no sofas, few chairs, and be stripped down and--well--bland. I hate it. Down with coffee shop minimalism! I mean come on! The major reason coffeehouses became big in heartland America in the 1990s, when Starbuck bloomed into the chain de force they are today, was because of the TV show Friends. That mediocre sitcom showed what a coffeehouse circa 20th/21th century should be: mismatched antique Victorian sofas, large primary bright coffee cups, a bar with barely attentive and careless baristas, and a Cloudcuckoolander strumming spaced out 'folk' song with a badly tuned hand-me-down guitar. Apropo of nothing is the usual retort: "bla-bla economics, bla-bla people want things fast, bla-bla things change there Mr. Getoffmylawn." Spare me too please your "slackers hogging space and wi-fi all day" charge, I've never did that. I just want my comfy spot to read, drink java, meet people. Yeah, yeah, yeah Indy spots--I love them too. But they are all going to minimalism, and there isn't any indy places in the Sawmill sprawl. I asked to speak with manager in private to bring the incident to her awareness as constructive feedback. I spoke in a very soft and calm tone, yet she was not very receptive to the feedback, and even went as far as to make the excuse that some drinks are easier to make than others. I replied to her saying I too used to work for Starbucks, so I am familiar with many of the times required to make the drinks, but that is still an unacceptable reason and the person who was in line first should be served first. Loving this new location! The drive thru is convenient as well as the inside. What brought me in today was I was meeting a classmate to go over our presentation for a class. I liked how there is enough space to move tables (if needed) to study. As well as the ample amount of room. I ordered my favorite caramel brulée late because it's in season right now. It was as good as usual. When I picked up my order the barista said, here is a cheese danish for you. I didn't order a cheese danish but she felt like giving it to me today for free. That was super nice and thoughtful of her. It left a lasting great impression of her and this new location they just moved to. People like the guy below is why I dread walking into THIS location, I will go outta my way to drive further down to W Henderson or Tuttle. I reach to grab it after reading my name WITHOUT touching, the employee barks at me: "That is a health code violation". I say: to grab my own food? Every store in my area where I live around Columbus Ohio or my second home in Deerfield Beach Florida has alphabetical order areas to grab and go. I put it back down and say: OK, can I have my order of eggs? He hands it to me (tall skinny guy on bar, dark hair). I say: I still have a drink, he says; same name? I say: no, it says Madi, I continue: there is no sign that says do not grab your order ask and we will hand it to you. He says: "it is a health violation". Department of health as far as I know are not following Madi, if Starbucks is required to hand the costumer the drink - the violation is on Starbucks for not making it clear for us as customers to NOT reach for our drink. At this point it is just hunger for power due to mandates ending - for him to yell and embarrass me in front of costumers. Then he holds my cup of coffee with his bare hands on the mouth opening, NOT FROM THE BOTTOM OF CUP. I visit this location frequently and they have adapted so well to the new drive thru and curbside pick up. They are always extremely busy but they handle the craziness with a smile on their face always! They have coordinated a safe atmosphere for their customers and they still try to be present from a distance to smile, wave and personally thank their customers. I greatly appreciate their hard work always, but especially during these difficult times in the world! This location seems to have frequent random closings. I can only assume it's due to their staff contracting Covid. No reason why they just randomly close, during my last visit when they were opened, they gave me the wrong milk in my coffee- upon calling Courtney the manager and letting her know that this was the 2nd time I received cows milk when my order was for almond milk. She laughed and said ok. Didn't take it serious that I have allergies and I think that pretty much sums up the whole teams attitude. Despite being slammed almost all hours of the day it seems, you see how hard working and focused the baristas are to get the orders out with good quality and a friendly smile. Today I went in during what happened to be happy hour. My mistake because they clearly don't have enough staff to handle it, nor do they care enough to pay attention. I waited FORTY FIVE minutes for 2 drinks and when I finally saw every past person that ordered after me get their orders, I went to to say something. They completely deleted my order and blamed it on a sticker printer malfunction. But mysteriously it only affected me. .... Sure . I love the new and improved location. The drive thru has been such a great addition! It looks like it gets backed up a lot but the servers there are so quick at their job that you really don't have to wait long.
